I live in Arlington and she lives in Chantilly. My wife and I had planned to go up and stay elsewhere as my daughter had elected to go with a friend and her friend's mother. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend with them because she became very ill, yet still needs to compete. I called around to various hotels, but all that was left at the major chains were King beds into which a rollaway bed wasn't permitted due to fire safety concerns. So, I called The Gables and spoke to Cesar, the owner. I explained to him the situation and asked if we'd be able to stay at the hotel past checkout so that my daughter could sleep as long as possible in hopes that she'd feel better. Not only did he allow us to stay as long as necessary, but he put me in contact with his sister, Jeannette, who would be in charge when I arrived. I explained the situation to her and she was waiting at the hotel when we arrived. Immediately she took my daughter up to our room while I brought in the luggage and completed check in with her. She provided a brief tour of the area and showed me where I could find tea, hot water, and other things to make my daughter more comfortable. She also kindly offered a glass of wine since I'd just completed a three hour drive. As we're checking out today, I inquired how late we could stay and both Cesar and Jeannette said not to worry. Cesar even offered that Jeannette had previously worked in healthcare and to let her know if we needed any medicine. To say that they've been accommodating is an understatement. The team here at The Gables is the best service I've experienced in years and I'm only giving 5 stars because I can't give more. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel itself is phenomenal. Thank you so much to Cesar, Jeannette, and the team here - you all really outdid yourselves. We will certainly return!

We can only "complain" about the WiFi, rug and shower pressure... The connection was very slow as we were in the last room away from the access point. For us, that's a big deal. The rug felt damp like it was recently washed and hadn't tried in the entire day/evening we were there (didn't smell or anything) the shower, when others were using it also, there was barely enough water to rinse entirely. Not a huge deal, it worked fine after a few minutes. The room we had was spacious. They didn't have a room phone no biggie because we never use them anyways. Overall, I liked it. Motel has security cameras and it felt safe. I especially liked the retro style it had! Decent price and about 30-45 mins from Amish country!

One Hope Winery was there to do a tasting and the finger foods, pizza and milkshakes were delicious! Stayed the night in the Victorian Suite, and the bed was so comfy and the room cozy with a feel of the past! Breakfast was delicious with more historical information shared by one of the owners! But the best was the Mystery Dinner later that day! An event where everyone showed up in character and you played a part all the way to the end! So much laughter! So much fun! The food was again delicious and the desert cakes are still on my mind! I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast! Daphne, Paul and Sherry were fantastic hosts! The closet had the soft robes and extras if needed, you honestly didn't have to leave your room unless you wanted a beverage!. The deck was nice any part of the day! The set up was so nice it was perfect for a romantic night dinner outside (but the wind was too much so we took it inside). The Jacuzzi was Hot, bubbly and sooo soothing (they provide you with the correct items to use, you can't bring/use your own stuff in the jacuzzi). The Vibe all around was peaceful , I even caught the Beautiful Sun rise from start to bloom!. It's no Hesitation I'd come here again and recommend it although I'd love to keep this wonderful Gem to myself! The secret of its amazing peaceful experience is already out of the bag!!. I found the Adamstown Inn online, and it was reasonably priced, the photos didn't look like Great Aunt Gertrude's parlor, and every room had an en-suite fireplace (my one stipulation). We stayed 2 nights in the Topaz room at the Amethyst Inn. It was amazing. The Amethyst Inn is a big, old (but beautifully maintained) Victorian home, converted into the Inn. Our room was equal parts Victoriana (joie de vie wallpaper and a very ornate cast iron fireplace) and Country - beautiful antique oak furniture. The queen sized featherbed was luxurious and we slept like babies. The bathroom was updated, immaculate and the jacuzzi was amazing. Breakfast was to die for. Four courses each morning of fantastic, unique home cooked goodness. Everything was so fresh and amazing. Their coffee was great (and endless) as well! The staff was wonderful and warm, but not intrusive. They were incredibly thoughtful. Every day there was a small gift waiting for us on the bed, and when we left they gave us snacks for the road! It snowed overnight the 2nd night, and they even cleaned our car off for us before we woke up. This place is first rate, gourmet, beautifully decorated and it is a wonderful respite away from Philadelphia. We, much like The Terminator, will be back.
