This review is specifically for their Teddy Bear and Lion Cub program. It's with sadness that I write this review. Not because of any horrible experience I've had at Lea's but rather because we unfortunately had to part ways with the school due to us moving. I'm surprised by the bad reviews as I have had nothing but a lovely experience with Lea's. The preschool was my son's first exposure to school and I credit it for him doing so well when he moved on to Kindergarten elsewhere. The preschool teachers had years of experience between all of them. They were all great and not only got to know my son but our entire family. The teachers had a equal balance of discipline, structure and education along with fun and play, so I was impressed that my son wasn't just socializing at 3 - 4 but actually learning as well. At 3 he started writing letters...by comparison my other child did not at another school. The whole staff also does an awesome job with their plays / musicals. They are fun to watch and engage not only each class separately but the whole school. The teachers put a lot of work into it with both the planning and coordinating the kids and it shows. From what I hear there may be changes in the staff and program since we've stopped coming but I still recommend checking them out for the great program that they've established. They are a "small but mighty school" but what they lack in size they truly make up for with a big heart. Second grade teacher taking away resese's away from children when having problems with their assignments. Teacher said to them ( I don't like to have to correct mistakes. Lea's Christian School has been a blessing to our family. My son Marco started in October 2021, and although I was hesitant and unsure if we made the right move. My son has shined and has grown so much in his time at Lea's. Ms. Stanciulesu (Ms. S) in the teddy bear class is wonderful and shows how much she cares for and loves my son. When he entered school, he was shy, he couldn't write his letter yet, but by the end of the school year, he knew his number, and letters and can write his own name without help. Ms. Stanciulesu has helped him shine! He enjoys singing, dancing, jog-a-thon, and all the other activities that take place at Lea's Christian School. We make it a point to be involved in the school to best benefit our son's learning career. Ms. Stump is always a big help, and we are looking forward to the new year as a lion club. On another note, my son started this school with some separation anxiety and would cry at drop-off, by the second month there were no more outbursts and when we got sick and he missed a week and half of school, he was so happy he got to go back to school. His comments about school alone make my heart happy and I know we made the right decision to join Lea's family. My daughter felt so much love from Ms. Stanciulesu that she always wanted to join in on the fun. Now my daughter is attending summer school and enjoying herself in Ms. Adza's kindergarten class. read more

Lea's is a wonderful academic institution!!! It's a shame that it only goes up to the 5th grade. It is the finest institution around for the price. The students out perform other schools and has cheaper tuition. read more

As I retrospectively think back to the time my son was 5 years old and enrolled at Lea's Christian school's kindergarten class, it still infuriates me because not only was he treated poorly but so was I. The parent/teacher/ and principle conferences were a lot of finger pointing by the principle. She made me feel as if I was not involved enough with my child's education and his needs. Ludicrous! He's my world. He is now 9 years old going on 10 years old this July. He is extremely bright, on the honor's roll, and has received an award every year. We work with him as much as he needs. We feel the freedom to let him grow as his own individual and not hover over him due to pressures placed by the school. I truly think a lot of private schools take your money and only want to deal with docile children who can sit, follow orders, and obey commands. They can care less about individuality. The more cookie cutter each child is, the easier they can conduct BUSINESS. read more

This review of Leahs Christian school is long overdue. We enrolled our child in the kindergarten class which was taught by Mrs Bland who is also a school principal at a time for the 2008 2009 school year. Our experience with this teacher/administrator was an absolute nightmare. She told us outright that our child had a learning disability and that he was slow. She suggested that we take him for testing. We had him tested through the facility that she recommended. The test results showed that not only was there nothing wrong with our child ,he was incredibly bright and had a high IQ. The evaluator who also was the facility founder and administrator requested to meet with Mrs. Bland & myself to go over the results. When Dr. Seideman asked Mrs. Bland how she came to the conclusion that she did, she began to argue with him and stormed out of the meeting. Her teaching method. The parents were expected to do all of the instruction with our children in the school merely provided mass amounts of homework. Reading was taught solely on memorization of what words look like and Phonics was not taught at all. My family and I witnessed on more occasions than I wish to relay, instances when the children were unjustifiably yelled at by not only Marva Bland but also other teachers & teaching assistants. My son was verbally and emotionally abused by the staff resulting in our departure from the school and my filing of a complaint with the state. I could go on and on about the numerous infractions and egregious flaws but I don't have the time. I have 2 happy healthy honor roll students to attend to. There is absolutely nothing Christian about Lea's Christian school in any way shape or form. We and a number of other families that year, removed our son from Lea's and enrolled him in a private Catholic elementary school. He excelled in his new environment and has been excepted to Bishop O'Dowd. read more

My daughter went to Lea's for one year. She was in the Lion Cubs (pre-k) with Ms. Stump and Ms. Stanciulescu. I must say they do an outstanding job. Having my daughter in Kindergarten now, She continuously receives praises on how advance she is. It validates that this school does an amazing job developing kid's academic and social skills. They had a academically rigorous environment but they always made learning fun. They expose kids to science, theater, art, and music at this young age. The have a very tight knit community between parents and teachers. There are regular fundraisers and requests for parent volunteers. but we didn't mind because we know it helps keep tuition affordable. Really early on in the school year, I could notice a difference in my daughter counting abilities and letter recognition. Some great highlights for me where- trip to zoo, school performance, a binder with a collection of all their years work, and a mini graduation ceremony. My daughter loved this school. And I loved seeing her growth, all her school projects, and listening to her sing a new song every other week. Thank you Lea's for the leaving such a positive lasting impression on my daughters first school experience. I see her thriving in school and I know it is because Lea's set her up for success. read more

After doing months and months of research, I chose to send my son to Lea's with Seed 2 Sprout in Dublin being the runner up. My son began his journey here in the summer program at 2 1/2 years old. By the 2nd week of school, my son was fully potty trained. He had some delays in his speech and language and it began to improve by the end of summer. I love Ms. Clark!!! She works with my son, prays for him, disciplines him in truth and love and is firm when need be. Ms. Clark and Ms. Alip is always willing and ready to talk to me about my son's day, his development, strengths and weaknesses and his accomplishments. During Open House night, I got the chance to sit in my son's class, look at his work, his pictures of him doing work, his play areas, and get more acquainted with his teachers and the parents of other students in my son's class. The parents are so active and involved with the students and the staff. Lea's is like 1 big Happy family!!! read more

This school is more like a military school. Students are not allowed to talk at all. We are talking preschool, kindergarten, and 1st graders. I have been a school teacher for 18 years and the methods that were used were unethical. They only want to work with students that will sit in their seat quietly at all times and do not have any learning disabilities, which is not reality. They do not say "good morning" to the students or "good bye" when they leave. It is impersonal. Students are not allowed to go to the restroom during class time at all! Therefore, they end up having accidents. This is not a school you want your child to experience. read more

I was in desperate need of emergency care for my 4yo because the last daycare he was in, he was left alone with 2 children under his age, no adults. Needless to say, we were both traumatized. I called this school, the director actually opened the school for me on Saturday to tour. Monday morning he started hisl new preschool, where I thought he would receive love and nurture. The second day, I brought him, I was not given any welcome packet, not any type of warm welcome for my son. I didn't bring his lunch because I literally had no food in my house. I dropped him off before the cut off time of 9am. I told his teacher I did not have food for him, she said, "the Lord will work it out..." she then proceeded to the director complaining that I don't have a lunch for him, not thinking or asking if I would bring some later. I received a phone call from the director. She then proceeded to tell me that I "need to do my part as a parent." I proceeded to tell her that I had already brought my son's lunch. Then she proceeded to tell me that I need to get "caught up" on my bill. She must have forgotten that on Saturday, we discussed payment arrangements. I was surprised at her negative disposition towards me, a paying customer. My 4yo son is coming home saying that the teachers are very rude. When I walked up to drop my son off today, one of the very gruff teachers rudely addressed my son saying, "come on come on" with very rude hand gestures to my son. I then proceeded to address the teacher with a loud voice, "Hello there, how are you, I'm glad to see you!" I then turned to the director and gave immediate notice. I then clarified that IS NOT how anyone, especially a preschool teacher should address a child. No lunches, big burden to bring lunch everyday for a full time working single mom. If you don't earn $100+ per fundraiser, you are forced to pay the cash amount. ThE Gate sucks AND I'm not even sure if all those teachers are fingerprinted. (School aged children on campus as well). Not a good representative of who they think they serve. I was just reminded why I walked away from the institution of religion. read more

My son loves this place. Mrs. Stump and all the staff are great! Had some issues with having a split home for my son and they were able to work with me. They were a life saver. Lea's Christian school is a great school. The teacher to student ratio is perfect. The teachers and staff are excellent. My son has been there since he was a Teddy bear(Preschooler level). He has great writing skills and is learning a lot. I am truely satisfied with his education. My only hiccup on the school is the tuition keeps going up....ggrrr Being a single mom it is getting very hard to afford...but other than that. Lea's you rock. read more

Best school ever my daughter transferred from another privet school to Leas and level of education is not even comparable. She never liked her old school which cost a lot more and she was getting bullied and with Leas school she is always happy to go to school she hasn't been bullied all year and is excelling very quickly read more

I love this school The teachers are wonderful. My daughter loves it here. She tells me how much fun she has here. Tells me who are here friends and what she does each day. They have chapel every Wednesday. I love her little prayers she tells us and she uses it before meals. It's a small school but it's nice that you can easily get to know each other. The parents are very friendly. Always greeting each other in the morning. During parent night the teachers are informative. They provide good resources in enhancing in your child development. I visited Lea's Christian School in Hayward to deliver a file box of various kinds of paper for the children. I decided to do this because I was so impressed with the teachers I know who teach at this school, their professionalism, their dedication, and their desire to inspire and motivate each student. When I arrived, the students spontaneously greeted me (a stranger) and took me to the classroom. I observed several teachers interacting with students in very supportive, appropriate ways. I was totally impressed with the the educational focus that is visible when you are on campus there. As a teacher in Special Education for 39 years, and Adult School Teacher now, I have seen and worked at many schools in the San Leandro District. Lea's Christian School is a school that any District would be proud to claim. If you are trying to decide what school is best for your child, then go see for yourself what is going on at Lea's Christian School. You will be favorably impressed. read more

This is a great school. The teachers are great at what they do. On a bad note the principal ruins it for the school. She has very poor communication skills, makes rude comments, roles her eyes if you are asking her questions about a situation and makes you feel uncomfortable,gives no RESPECT, but of course expects it from you. I forgot to mention she's also the kindergarden teacher. The committee for the school is a joke. The president of the school has said there has been multiple complaints about the principal and yet nothing is being done to correct the problem. It is sad because you put your hard earn money into this school for your child to get a great education, and in return you get treated like this. It also says something about this principal if the other teachers feel the same way about her. read more
