I visited the Cultural Council for Palm Beach after reading about the kinetic energy exhibit which…read morefeatured sports in Palm Beach County. The exhibit included artwork depicting soccer to Polo. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 12 noon to 5 PM, it is free to visit and there is plenty of on street parking nearby. I was welcomed in by a very pleasant greeter who shared information about the gallery and was obviously passionate about it. I found it very interesting that all artwork on display is by Palm Beach County artists. The gallery is bright and well curated. There is a small gift shop. Restrooms were very clean and well stocked. When visiting downtown Lake Worth, I recommend a visit to the cultural council for Palm Beach. You can see all that the gallery has to offer in less than one hour.

The council was created in 1978 to promote and support art and culture in the county. In 2010 the Montgomery family donated the Streamline Moderne Building to the cultural council. For $148 and an hour long trip that was pretty inconvenient. I could've fixed it myself, but I decided to leave it with them anyways to correct it. Got a call back the next day saying it was ready, picked it up, lo and behold it was still far out of tune. I just unlocked the nut and did it myself. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, twice. unfortunately it isn't something I can pretend didn't happen. On the bright side, guitar plays good now, but if I could've gone back I would've just done it myself. Hopefully this will help someone out there save some money.

My son attended School of Rock in Lake Worth for almost two years. He was taking guitar and music…read moretheory in high school but wanted to interact with other musicians so he enrolled in the Performance Program. It was a great experience! The school is good at coordinating performances at local community venues to give students the chance to perform on stage in front of an audience. Rodrigo (Luna) taught students at various levels how to perform as a band. They played 90s rock to a large, enthusiastic audience at Swamp Grass Willies in Palm Beach Gardens. Afterwards, my son continued taking guitar lesson with Will S. who is a talented musician and fabulous instructor. Will was super-supportive and helped him prepare for an audition at Berklee College of Music. I am thrilled to share that my son was accepted! I believe Will's ongoing support and excellent instruction, along with the positive experiences at School of Rock, helped my son reach his goals. Again, I believe the school does a great job finding opportunities for students to attend and participate in local music events. The instructors are professional, patient and provide quality lessons.
