Hailey and Robert make me wish I lived on the east coast. Today I drove from the gulf coast about 280 miles round trip to purchase my gibson. I made a day of it. Sure I could have had it shipped. I made it an event. From when I first contacted Hailey via reverb I knew this was the guitar I wanted and the shop I wanted to work with. She was honest and accommodating. She's an excellent manager and made me very comfortable. The entire process was so easy. No head aches! Robert was personable and very knowledgeable. They have a very large and eclectic display of stringed instruments. I saw electric and acoustic guitars and banjos. There was probably more but I was there for my gibson. Nice blackstar amp offerings amongst many others. The guitar was immaculate and perfectly set up. I will definitely be using them in the future! Excellent people and products!!! read more

I purchased a beautiful guitar from them. I am not thrilled with the pick up they installed. I wanted a different one. However they said I would have to purchase the pick I wanted and they could install for $50. I said take the one you installed out and give me a refund and I'll have you replace it with the one I want....... ...... empty air...... no response... That's fine still not thrilled with this pick up will I go back there idk.... Do not take a guitar to be worked on to these people. DO NOT pay them to do a PLEK setup for your instrument. I paid them a LOT of money (too much for the going rate) to refret and PLEK my guitar. First try, they did not bother to clean the slots and left the crown of TWELVE of the frets just hanging in the air, wanting nothing to do with the surface of the fretboard. Second try, after I carefully explained to them how to prep a slot before slamming a fret in so hard that the tangs were even BENT inside the boards, they did not bother to raise the bridge and just slapped it into the PLEK machine and grinded off all the new frets down to the low fretless wonder-like old fret heights that was the ONLY REASON I PAID FOR NEW FRETS. I will be making a YouTube video with receipts of all the garbage they did to this vintage guitar. I contacted PLEK in Germany and the US rep agreed that this is awful. Jay refuses to do it correctly on a third try and even threatened to sue me and defend his reputation vigorously. All the emails will be in the YouTube video. Why do I have to give them one star? The deserve 0. Jay does not care anymore. read more

Honestly they were a big disappointment. Wanted a guitar after spending over 30 years away from playing .. not wanting to spend a huge amount of money. The guitars they had were brands I've never heard of .. when I asked why .. they said it's because they don't sell enough of them to justify their expense. They also talked about how bad Guitar Center was .. that led me to Guitar center where I spent roughly $350 to get exactly what I wanted and a name brand known throughout the guitar world. there GOUGING charging twice what I used to pay back Covid time total rip I had them during Covid time do set ups and install pick ups and do some custom work on up to 10 guitars acoustic and Electric and everything was always 100 150 so last week November 2024 a cheap I've been acoustic they put in pens a bridge and a nut and charge me over $200 for it twice what they used to charge same with the Stratocaster they installed pick ups that's all it needed. It needed nothing else but they charge me for a full set up, which you did not need and some other bullshit $250 he used to they raped me and they will rape you too rap selfish pigs, stay away from them or your mama will spank you read more

Not often you see a shop quite like this; what's even more is the equipment and luthiers they have is the best I know of in Florida. The staff were responsive and eager to help any questions I had, the selection of pedals and guitars were vast. Went in to get a setup and it came out astonishingly great, but knowing they have a PLEK machine I honestly should've gone for that, maybe next time. Totally worth the visits, everytime. I guess if I had to name one thing, I do wish they had audio interfaces in store. read more

It's one thing to do hurried or amateur work that permanently caused my guitar irreparable damage, but to call me a liar is a whole other thing. I am neither cheap nor dishonest, especially when it comes to guitars which I make my living from, and I would never make such a bargain bin attempt to work one over on a local business during a pandemic. Your luthier even admitted when I picked it up that this was "normal and happens all the time when you rip the frets out." Glad you kept the money. You obviously need it more than I do. read more

My thanks to Jay and Mike the luthier. They recently Pleked my Partscaster and did a great job on it. Smoothed out the play on the neck. Very happy with the work. Guitar now plays great. Sadly this place isn't what it once was, it WAS a customer satisfaction driven company. In the past I bought three guitars off them and an amp. Recently my wife wanted her bass guitar rewired and I thought I would take it back to the Wolfe where I bought it and let them give it some love. We dropped the guitar off and told them what we wanted done, the young lady there said "It will be done by the end of the week" ...  That was six weeks ago!!! The guitar was "Finished" last week and when we went to pick it up it my wife tried it out, the volume know was stiff and didn't want to turn and the tone knob really didn't work, even though the young man helping us swore up and down he could hear the difference (Minimal difference at best), he even turned the amp up louder so we could hear it wasn't working even louder.... Lmao!!! Quick side note, the guitar has all chrome hardware on it, the tech put a black switch in.. Real classy. So we left them with the guitar and came back the following week. Yes it works correctly now. The young man was apologetic about us having to drive down from Stuart twice because of their mistake, I asked if he could show us how apologetic Wolfe guitar is on the bill... After conferring with someone we were informed basically the bill has been written up so the price is the price... That is the last money they will ever get from us!!! read more

Please do not be fooled by these good ratings. I was, and i brought them a 70's Ovation for frets and setup and had to bring it back tree times and i'm still not impressed. I also brought them a 70's Les Paul for an estimate to have it rewired and new pickups. When i brought it in they stated that this was right up their ally and would be no problem. After weekly follow up calls for about a month, every time we talked it was like starting all over again. Never did get any recommendations or an estimate. Mhhhhhhhh! read more

I saw a guitar listed by Wolfe on a reverb.com. I called the store to ask a few questions and spoke with the store manager, Tom C. I purchased the guitar along with shipping from FL to NY. A package arrived a week later, the guitar was not the one I ordered. I called the store and after speaking with Tom C. I got the impression that he smokes waaaaay too much pot to be managing a retail store. He said they didn't have the guitar I wanted. Meanwhile, their listing on Reverb.com says they have 2 in stock. Several days later I received a return shipping label. I had to email and call the store to remind them that they have to process my refund. A few days later I received a partial refund, reduced by the shipping charge and a restocking fee. GRRRRR!!!!! read more

After researching the state of FL, I found out the only PLEK machine was in Jupiter at Wolfe Guitars. I drove 500 miles round trip and had a great experience. Jay and the guys were very cordial and made me feel very welcome. Worth the drive. Having my 15 year old guitar PLEK'd was exactly what it needed (in addition to a new nut) to make it feel better than new. Highly recommend this shop. read more

Thanks to the great work by Mike today, my acoustic guitar is just sounding & playing great. Mike really went the extra mile & got forensic with the action & intonation. He carefully filed the nut, saddle & I believe even the bridge & got the intonation of my new Epiphone AJ-45ME acoustic really bang on. It came from the factory & was really playing sharp in the upper register & had some issues with the electronics resonating on certain chords... Gremlins that I believed in the right hands could be fixed... It's weird but I really like playing in tune... Fortunately Mike took care of all the issues! Phew, plays like a dream. Not much interest in Tom getting back to me on a used Heritage Super Eagle I was looking at either as a trade or a purchase. Regarding the trade he responded to me via email that they don't buy guitars which made no sense at all! I then emailed him that I would like to purchase it cash with a 5 day approval in place of 2 day since I'm in Denver and need a little extra time and as a return customer hopefully would be given a bit more time. I never heard back from him and next day found the guitar was no longer for sale or sold. read more

I purchased sight unseen from a store I never visited or had known existed before searching the Net. It isn't as crazy as it seems because I did talk to the manufacture and Wolfe Guitars was highly recommended. The manufacture being Heritage Guitar.  The instrument I was considering was not in stock in my area and from searching I suspect in most of the country. Wolfe Guitars had the instrument.  I worked with Jay Wolfe and then with Graham. They took the time over the phone to answer all of my questions. With some music background many decades ago I am coming into this as a total newbie. I was treated with the utmost respect. They did not talk down to me.   I have had the experience walking into a music store or talking over the phone to people that act as if you are wasting their time.  Even if you are new to music you will be made to feel comfortable and welcomed at Wolfe. After purchasing the Guitar I realized I needed an Amp. Wolfe Guitars could have up sold me on many different items.  Maybe to their detriment they never tried to upsell me. I called back to discuss the Amp and I did purchase the Amp from Wolfe Guitars. To say my experience with Wolfe was excellent is an understatement. These guys are a class act. I just received the Guitar and Amp and everything they said they would do was done. Even the packaging was perfect. Do not be afraid of ordering from another State miles away from the store. I can't say enough about Wolfe Guitars. If there is any complaint it would be why are you not in Massachusetts.
