We spent the holidays with our son in Tempe, and were shocked to find that his leather couch had been nearly destroyed by his rescue dog Luna. We had thought it might be beyond repair, but found Chris through Yelp reviews. Chris spent most of the day on the repair to both arms and the back cushion and back of the couch (the cushions are sewn in and not removable, making the work even more difficult). In addition, he conditioned the leather throughout the couch. He was easy to reach by texting and phone, and showed up on time. He did the work onsite, which was nice too. We thought the price was reasonable, considering the effort and time it took. A new sofa was over $4000 so we looked at Leather Guru. Our experience was just great for the following reasons: 1. Chris Helms (480-414-3005) was contacted via email, and he responded very in a very timely manner. He asked us to send pictures of the sofa and the worn spots. We did so. 2. He responded with a price for the repair work, set a time that he would be at our home. 3. Lo and behold, he was on time...personable, confident and very willing to explain what he was going to do. After 60-90 minutes, he was through...he gave us the "ground rules" for taking care of it, and left with a smile. It was great to see that he had great pride in a job well done. 4. I called for a quote to have a small 3/4 x 1 inch hole repaired in the side of my vinyl sofa and was quoted 125.00 to repair it. I explained that it was a very small hole and the nice gentleman said that this was a minimum cost for this kind of repair. I ended up calling American furniture to send the repair tech and it cost me 48.00 total for the repair start to finish. This company was very respectful and although was more than I was willing to pay. I was told that the repair supplies cost only a few dollars. I must be fair and say that of the 4 estimates I did receive, they were the lowest and that being said, I will not hesitate to call Leather Guru for a quote on a larger repair.
