Robert had to replace a cracked particle board seat and then re-upholster to include piping. He priced it at $60 per chair. The underside of each chair was nicely covered with black cloth - very professional. As an afterthought, the chair seats were covered in plastic - using a heat gun at the corners to make them look like new. The other business priced one chair at $150. read more

We used Roberto's to recover our outdoor furniture set. They Picked up and delivered for a price. Which was a great service. The cushion material was special order and they were very accommodating. The turn around was about 2 weeks as we had a lot of cushions. When they delivered the cushions they were in plastic bags for protection. I also had asked them for ties on each cushion. Was no problem for them. The long and short.... Professional service, great customer service, great price. We found Roberto's Sofa Factory by asking friends for recommendations. Their business name came up three different times. After reading their on-line reviews, we were confident we'd found the people to bring a couple of pieces back to life. The first was my favorite Lazyboy reliner - still in great condition structurally, but worn out from being loved by the entire family for decades. The next was a 1950's era chair and ottoman, which my wife's paternal grandparents purchased in 1952. We got it about 20 years ago, and it was in need of a restoration even back then. Over the years, we left it out on the back patio and the Arizona sun damaged it even further. We took everything to their shop, and were greeted promptly by Daniel, a third-generation family member. He was very patient and offered several suggestions as we looked at several material sample books. We finally found the perfect materials, got what we thought was a very fair estimate, and left a deposit to order materials and begin the work. In just two short weeks, both projects were completed in both a timely and very professional manner. We're very pleased with their work, their price, and their return delivery service. After they were delivered, my wife cried when she saw "Grampa's chair" and how it was finished. Obviously, people who care about their craft and have many years of experience were assigned these two projects, and we couldn't be happier. A great experience from start to finish. Not a good experience unfortunately, I had 2 sofa sets modified and paid him what he asked for 2600.00 dollars for labor and material. I was disappointed in his craftsmanship. Very poor stitching and back rest pillows are not even. I asked him several times to stop by and adjust them. My request fell on deaf ears. Yeah tomorrow, next week or so but really that's not the way to do business. His nephew Daniel delivered my furniture and wouldn't even give a receipt for the payment. Luckily I had my own receipt by sending him a text. Soo unprofessional. I don't recommend his services to anyone. read more

I simply cannot recommend this family owned business highly enough! My experience with Roberto and his son, Javier, was outstanding. I have never reupholstered anything before, and from my first inquiry through the delivery of the two pieces I had done, I was impressed by their communication and the customer service I received. Roberto and Javier walked me through every step of the process - from choosing fabrics to picking up and dropping off my two chairs to the timeline to dropping of the finished furniture. They have a wide range of fabrics to choose from at their shop, and if you can't find exactly what you want there, they will help point you in the direction of other places to look for and get fabric. It was clear to me from the start that they wanted me to be excited about the new look I was choosing for my furniture. Once I had my fabrics decided on, they picked up my chairs and returned it to me in under three weeks over the holidays and shortly after moving locations of their shop. I can only imagine how busy a time this was for them. I was amazed by how smoothly everything went. (They literally picked the pieces up Thanksgiving week and had them back to me in time for a friend's visit to my place 2.5 weeks later!) While communication and ease of process are important, when you are talking about reupholstering furniture, the final product is the main thing you want to be great.... I am happy to share that Roberto did an AMAZING with the work. He is a true craftsman/artist. The chairs looked brand new when they were returned, and I liked them better than I had when I first got them. Every detail of the furniture was handled with care, and I am delighted with the way they turned out!! I asked him to re-stuff the cushion on the larger chair (Javier talked me through the different levels of firmness), and it is more comfortable now than it ever was. It is used constantly, as a main piece in the living room, and everyone comments on how great it looks and how comfortable it is to sit in. We purchased a preowned sofa that was made by Feathers Custom Furniture in Scottsdale and the cushions starting shredding, they were silk and just couldn't hold up to kids and dogs. I called other shops and was getting quotes of up to $7000 to have them reupholstered. These cushions are large, each one is over 3ft wide. My husband just happened to be in the area and drove past Roberto's. He told me to see what I thought. I went down there with a cushion and searched for a fabric. I finally found one on the way out that was heavily discounted, let's face it, not everyone has my same taste. Roberto's was nearly 1/10th of the price to have them reupholstered than anywhere else and the craftsmanship is perfect on them. They were able to reuse the original piping and we just couldn't be happier with how they turned out. This is the only place I'll use for upholstery. The showroom is not going to win any awards and I would suggest doing research on fabrics, maybe bring in samples to show them when you get there so they can help you narrow it down as it is hard to navigate, Don't let that stop you from using them! This place is MAGIC and their prices are so reasonable. We chose to re-upholster several old beat-up pieces of furniture as the price was less than buying new high quality furniture. They redid an old chair + ottoman, and a loveseat, and it's hard to believe they're the same items! They also recovered/rebuilt the seat cushions of 6 dining chairs and made 2 dog bed covers. They are happy to work with fabric you bring in, or they have an AMAZING selection in shop (though it will take a long time to look through everything). They kept me apprised of the schedule along the way and it didn't take nearly as long as I thought for all those items. I would absolutely use them again (and have another project in mind already). Roberto's does GREAT work! I had 6 dining room chairs bought in 1984 and badly in need of reupholstering. I know I could have stapled some fabric on myself, BUT, I wanted the same piping as before and I wanted new foam. I brought my own fabric (even though they have so much) and I LOVE the finished product. The foam is much firmer and taller than it ever was on the original chairs and they look fantastic. I also brought in a dingy outside storage bench cushion and some Sunbrella fabric. Again, the cushion looks better than before (he added batting to the original foam) and unexpectedly, has a zipper as well. I asked for some pillows to be made with any leftover fabric, gave him my hoped for dimensions, and they are super cute and also have zippers! Very nice and fancy. I found Roberto's by reading Yelp reviews, and they were all so overwhelmingly positive that I knew this was the place for me. And it is!
