Garlic with fries, date drink, lemonade, chicken shawarma salad bowl and falafel salad bowl
    Dahabina O.

I went today with my mother and I had the chicken shawarma bowl and she had the falafel bowl. I also had the garlic with fries. The food was good. The fries were crisp and not too salty. The chicken and falafel were fresh. I liked the Tahini sauce and the garlic sauce. This isn't our first time there. The last time we went my mother didn't enjoy it as much. I didn't mind it last time though, I thought it was ok. This time was better for both of us.

8/21 Not the same for worse... They moved a street over across from the SS package store and next to a public parking lot. Has more street presence BUT - more of a typical fast casual now - limited menu with zero authenticity - friendly staff but UNDERSTAFFED - SLOW I got something similar to Anna's platter but wasn't good.... did not finish the food. This is my last visit....another one down :-/

Pick Your Platter Kibbeh Chicken Samosa Pastries Msaka Baba Ghanoush

Had lunch here the other day. My husband really enjoyed the traditional platter. He ordered it with beef shawarma. I built my own platter. I chose to get falafel as my protein but was sad to see only two were on my plate and they were not large. Tried the kibbeh and chicken samosa but did not love them. I do however love the baba ghanoush.

    Looking for my kids shawarma

Hey, we love the garlic . We love the food but the order was screwed up and there was no way to contact em quickly! Sooooo here we are ... DONT ORDER KIDS FOOD ... we asked for chicken (great!) and with chicken shwarma. But no shwarma ... A 'bait and switch ' we got fries. We don't want fries we want kids chicken shawarma . We rarely complain ... see review history folks but this was really lousy. Two stars

Finally some excellent hummus and baba! The falafel were fair, better than cava. The chicken was tiny small pieces, not big chunks on a skewer like I expected. I loved the cucumber yogurt dip as well as the tabouli both were so fresh. My husband said the basmati rice & hummus were both delicious but he thought the chicken was dry.

Came here for lunch with family recently to the new location. I ordered a falafel sandwich and my family member ordered a lamb bowl. The sandwich was delicious. It was my first time and I almost missed the toppings bar. I loaded up the sandwich right away. They don't have lamb bowls, but we're very accommodating to substitute it out. The whole order came with two loafs that the sandwich came in. We took it home and ate it with dinner. So much food for the price!

Emly restaurant terrible service no excuse to be so unkind to costumers

Unfortunately after being very considerate and waiting 10 minutes for a gentleman to take my order his Name was Valerio as he got very upset that I was in line there no costumers therefore I don't understand the attitude there was no greeting no salutation just a "what do you want " as I've worked in the food industry for over 15 years and knowing how hard it's to retain costumers I was just very desapointed on his behavior I've come to this place I the past and service was OK but this time it was terrible aslo my food was cold and as I requested a change the gentleman just rolled his eyes and said I'm on the phone please be careful when this gentleman is on shift

Sitting here waiting on my order. This is by far the most delicious middle eastern food I have tasted. Always fresh, clean and friendly. So many choices.

    Lamb shawarma, average.
    Mekdela T.

Very very average :/ I'm only giving it two stars based off the space of the restaurant, easy/cheap parking in the the garage, and the location. Keep in mind when I came, there were a lot of families with kids, I enjoyed it, but I do know some people don't like when there's a lot of kids due to noise. I really expected better food. The rice was amazing, and that's really all I ate. I ordered the lamb shawarma with salad and rice, my cousin ordered the chicken shawarma and fries, the kids I came with ordered the grilled chicken strips and rice. My lamb shawarma just didn't fast fresh and well seasoned. I was pretty sad about it because I've actually had better shawarma bought at a food truck. The fries my cousin ordered tasted old and not that great. The hummus was good and I like the big pita things you dip into your hummus, but that was really it. Expected more from this place.

Kia's Platter - Baba Ghannouge, Falafel, Kibbeh, Shakshouky, Chicken Shawarma
    Addy C.

My sister & her husband like this place, and they usu. order several different things and share. Portions are generous. My sister brought me here last wknd, and we shared "Kia's Platter" which includes your choice of 4 mezza items plus chicken or beef shawarma. All this for just $10.95, and it was plenty of food for 2 people. We picked the Baba Ghannouge (good), 2 Falafels (good), Kibbeh (ok), Shakshouky (good), and the Chicken Shawarma (flavorful but salty). The platter also comes with a couple of very large and puffy pita bread ... yum :) We didn't get the kabobs but my sister said they're very good, too. FYI - garage parking available but rates are very low. Restaurant doesn't validate parking. This restaurant has 4 locations.

Very good and authentic Lebanese food right in downtown silver spring. Had the shawarma chicken combo and it was really too much food for one person

I can happily report that the food was DELICIOUS & truly represented what you would want from a Middle Eastern restaurant. I was ecstatic to have their grilled halloumi & their beef and chicken kabob with kidreh and tzatziki was 10/10!!! The aromatic seasonings and flavours with the kabobs were divine, and perfectly complimented the kidreh (spiced rice, garlic, chick peas). My husband had the Takoma Burger which was equally fantastic - and only $10 with a side of fries on Tuesday!! We will definitely be back to explore their HH and dinner menus more!!! This restaurant is definitely worth a visit (or several)!!

The service was impeccable- the waitress and sommelier were both extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Nadia, our waitress, offered suggestions about what dishes would pair well together for the tawle experience and shared her favorites. The sommelier went over the extensive wine list and helped us pick a nice red that paired well with our chosen dishes- it was called Yacoubian Hobbs from Armenia. The ambiance was comfortable and welcoming- you could dress up or down, pretty much anything goes! The walls are lined with colorful patterns and draped tapestries to create a high end living room vibe. Now for the fun part- THE FOOD! The first dishes brought out were the mouneh (pickled veggies), the honey soaked dates, and the three spreads (we selected the hummus with lamb on top for an additional $15, havuc, and beet borani). I'll add that they continuously bring out fresh, warm pita throughout the whole meal. The lamb hummus was savory and well-balanced, but very rich. The havuc had a beautiful lightness from the carrots and I loved the textural element of the crispy onions on top. The beet borani also added a welcomed freshness throughout the meal and was vibrant, light, and had wonderful yogurt flavors. The underrated dish were the pickled veggies because INSANE. I used these in bites during the entire meal and they all had a unique flavor as if they were each pickled in a special way- my favorites were the white radish and scallions. The honey dates were a sweet palette cleanser and cut through the savory elements of the meal. We continued on with the next round consisting of the field lettuce salad, the three condiments (we chose the toum, chermoula, and harissa), halloumi, omani shrimp, and chickpeas. The field lettuce salad had a zesty vinaigrette and I appreciated the acidity addition of the sliced oranges and the crunchy, salted pistachios. The toum was a garlicky aioli that I felt was best paired with the chickpeas- although all the dips were delicious with all the dishes and the pita. The harissa was a lighter version than I am used to, spicy, and paired well with the veggies and ribeye. The chermoula was my favorite and paired best with the ribeye- it reminded me of a flavorful and herbaceous chimichurri. The halloumi had a sweet honey and was grilled perfectly, paired with nice crunchy nuts. The chickpeas had a lovely consistency and were well seasoned- I think it was sumac, but whatever it was, I couldn't get enough. The shrimp were ONE OF MY FAVORITE dishes from the whole meal. They were juicy, seasoned perfectly, charred, and just chefs kiss. I enjoyed them with the chermoula and squeeze of lime. The main dishes and veggies came during our final (besides dessert) round. We ordered the sayadieh as part of the table experience and also added a ribeye to the order. We had ordered the charred carrots, but they accidentally brought us the wildflower honey zucchini instead, so we were lucky enough to be able to try both. The branzino (sayadieh) absolutely blew my mind. It was citrusy, spicy, seasoned with bright spices, and incredibly moist. I would honestly skip the ribeye- it was cooked to a nice medium rare and had a nice flavor, but I don't think it compared to the rest of the meal. The charred carrots were spicy, cooked soft- also one of the standouts. The zucchini was served beautifully and I enjoyed the sauce, but could also skip next time. We ended the meal with the bitter orange sorbet and the chocolate mousse. The sorbet was a nice palette cleanser as it had zest in the mix and was very light after the heavy meal. The chocolate mousse was very rich and had a new balance of chocolate and peanut flavors. They brought over complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate my birthday as well :) I cannot wait to come back to try more of the menu and I am so happy to have had a diverse taste of the Middle East. I'll also add that we had a HUGE bag of leftovers that lasted several meals and they packaged it up like true professionals. A food lover completely satisfied and eager to get back :)

A popular spot near Adams Morgan. The restaurant features Middle Eastern grilled food. In fact,…read morethere were several fire grills in the center of the first floor of the restaurant (it has two floors), and you can see the staff constantly grilling the meats, fish, vegetables and pita. This, together with the dark vibe, made me feel as if I were eating with ppl. from B.C. in a cave. Very interesting. I like that. For food, I got the Carrot Havuc, Omani Shrimp and Halloumi. But first I was served with some freshly made whole wheat pita. They were soft, chewy and earthy. The Carrot Havuc was basically a carrot+garlic puree. Very silky, refreshingly sweet, and a bit sour. The sourness may come from the garlic and lemon. Paired well with the pita and meats. The Omani shrimp came with 5 pieces, each shrimp was ~1oz so it was not very filling. The shrimp were meaty, fresh, juicy, though I wish it could be less salty, even if I already asked for less salt. The shrimp was said to be marinated with dried lime and tamarind but I could only taste the flavor of dried lime. The Halloumi cheese was brushed wild flower honey and topped with Egyptian dukkah, then baked until the outside was golden brown. It was salty and sweet, and the (tons of) sesame seeds added some fragrance to it. However, the peanut was too roughly chopped so that they fell off from the cheese when I slice it, and thus difficult to eat with the cheese. Service was not worth the 20% mandatory tip. For example, when I asked about the sourness of the Carrot Havuc, he did not know why and said he would "taste it and let me know where the sourness came from". Unfortunately, he did not tell me until I asked again when doing the check (I doubt if he tasted it in the first place). Neither did he ask me about the other dishes. Overall, the dishes were great but not impressive, and was mostly heavily flavored. The service could be improved.
