Between Shalom Kosher Supermarket, Ben Yehuda Pizza and the Yeshiva of Greater Washington (and a number of other synagogues) is a takeout only food place serving Chinese, Falafel, or Shwarma Nice people, fast service, only got one meal-the crispy beef. And the beef was good, it was mostly crispy with a few softer prices in the middle. Rice was good. I would say that it was sweeter than usual. And while it always serves Chinese food-Thursday through Sunday they bring in the Middle Eastern as well. No fusion or creativity. But is is a take out. While a big draw is the kosher, the food stands on its own as well.

Holy Chow is a good quality kosher Chinese takeout joint. They do deliver but the fees are high so when we do order delivery (as we do not drive) we order enough for leftovers the next day. We last ordered from here two weeks ago and got a Large Singapore Noodles, a Large Orange Chicken with Fried Rice, and a Shawarma Pita. The Shawarma I think is the recipe of Max's which is now closed and the Singapore Noodles were great. The Orange Chicken was decent but I remember it being better last time. The time before we ordered more food at the same price but a lot of it was on lunch special so ordering earlier in the day may help.

This was our first time here and it won't be our last. Friendly staff. They do get busy. We got there at 5:30 pm on a Sunday night and it was an hour wait for the food since we didn't order ahead of time. They did tell us it will be an hour before we placed the order. We decided to place the order anyway and just went shopping in couple of the stores in the plaza. It definitely was a great decision on our part and worth the wait. We ordered the following: Chicken with baby corn - it did came with other veggies. Very good. A++ Chicken lettuce wrap- love love love. A++ General Chow- great flavor- not to sweet and not too crunchy. A+. Chicken w sweet corn- a little on the sweet side but still delicious. A+. Scallion pancakes- i think it was too thick. Did not love it. B-. OVERALL great experience and great food.

Two or three of the dishes that contained beef tasted off, almost as if the meat was old or not in good condition. Since we were sharing the dishes among four adults, the plates were already finished by the time everyone tried them. We informed the staff that something was wrong with the food, but the only response we received was that they checked the date on the meat. As many people know, meat can still spoil even if it is technically within the date. I left feeling very disappointed and even had a stomachache afterward. Sadly, we will not be returning. What makes this more disappointing is that we visited years ago and the food quality and dishes were completely different. We came to celebrate a birthday, but instead left upset -- and we still had to pay for everything.

I've eaten here many times for years plus gotten take-out from here way way way more times than I have kept track of, and have tried many things on the menu. As a potato lover, I absolutely love the oven-roasted potatoes. For me, I would say they are better than the fries -- I only know this for sure because I finally ordered both at once, ha ha, and ended up unintentionally doing a side-by-side comparison. The fries are great! It's just that the roasted potatoes are even better! I enjoy the grilled eggplant, hummus with mushrooms, and would say the falafel is absolute perfection. Even my cousin who doesn't normally like falafel or hummus likes both of these things here. She said the falafel is cooked just right, being crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I agree! Not only that, they look good, too! The shape, size, and colours outside and in are highly enticing .... This is a really nice place for a family gathering -- speaking of which, I can report on what I've heard my family members saying about foods I haven't tried, and the upshot is ... everything is wonderful! The staff are also very nice and caring, attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. Most importantly: you will not go hungry here! You will leave sated and satiated, having indulged in Middle Eastern or American culinary delights .... Highly recommended! :-D

You can adjust the heat (we chose medium) and the portions are generous. Keep in mind that Thai food can be extremely spicy, so choose wisely :D I can't get over how exceptional everything tasted. I remember it being good but not like this. The chicken tasted CLEAN (this requires a full-blown conversation to explain) and had the perfect bite. If you're ordering takeout then make sure to mix the noodles before eating. The samosas were PERFECT. Is it pricier than other places? Yes. Does the taste match the price? Also yes. Keep in mind that sometimes it's because of the ingredient quality and where it comes from. Some are simply more expensive than others. My attitude towards Thai food is a bit of a love/hate situation, but Amina just might put me back on the love wagon. Some places have this overwhelming fishy taste in everything, which I truly hate. Well the day finally came when hubs was picking me up & we had time to kill before our evening plans. I had mentioned this place several times while driving past it & we decided to make a stop. It's basically a take out place with some fast food restaurant style booths. You place your order, you pay, and you wait for ur food to be prepped. Unfortunately this was a let down. His burger was sad, looked like someone had worked out their aggression on it. Seriously, I've never seen any burger & bun that flattened. It was my mistake, I was excited because of the description (it contained lamb) but wasn't anywhere close to the Greek burger we get in VA, I'm not sure it was even up the fast food level, although it was definitely in competition for flatness. My dish was composed a lot of very dry meat. I'm no longer considering a stop as I drive.

I stopped by this location in Silver Spring - it's located inside the Whole Foods - before a movie last week. Since it was my first time at PLNT, I ordered something traditional - the PLNT Cheeseburger (plant-based patty, caramelized onion, pickles, plant-based American cheese, green leaf lettuce, roma tomato, PLNT sauce, and potato bun). As a very failed former vegan (10 years as a vegetarian and vegan in my late teens to twenties), I was most worried about the vegan cheese (I remember having some pretty awful vegan cheeses in those days). The cheese was fine actually. The burger itself is okay; it kind of tastes like TVP (textured vegetable protein), a little dry, not too flavorful. But my real issue with the burger was its assembly - it was so covered in sauce and gooey cheese that the bun was sliding off before I even tried to pick it up. It was one of the messiest things I've ever tried to eat. And that's what I'll remember about my first PLNT Burger experience - not the flavor, but definitely the messiness of it. It was fast, which is great if you need a quick meal. And since it's in the food court area of Whole Foods, you can also grab other things while you're waiting for your meal or after.
