She is certified, kind, and quick to respond, schedule, and reliable to send her appraisal certification as soon as possible. Her decades in experience is reassuring and office is clean, calm, and quiet. My fee was $125 for a pair of diamond earrings but she uses the best technology and is very thorough in her research. Alison responded right away and that was much appreciated. We communicated back-and-forth and found a time that works for the both of us to get together so she could appraise a piece of jewelry I had. When I had something come up in my calendar and needed to reschedule she made everything as easy as possible to find a time that worked for the both of us. I could not appreciate that more and as someone who is also self-employed, knows how hard it is when people have to reschedule ... it can put a kink in your calendar. I ordered a loose diamond online and when I received it, I was unable to find the GIA laser inscription number to match the GIA report that came with my diamond. I was worried that maybe the Diamond was a fake! So I called LeBaron Labs and made an appointment with the owner, Allison, for the next day. She quickly allayed my fears by showing me the laser inscription on my diamond using her microscope! Alison LeBaron, LeBaron Laboratory, is a certified gemologist who does jewelry appraisals in the Granite Bay area. She does the appraisal while you wait, so you don't have to leave anything and come back, which is very convenient. She will then mail you a detailed write-up that you can use for insurance purposes. I have taken several pieces of jewelry to her to appraise and her work is excellent. I met Alison LONG before there was yelp. I bought a beautiful diamond from Diamonds International on a cruise. Once I got on board, I knew immediately that the diamond we selected earlier in the day was not the diamond that was put in the setting. But I also knew I had a money back guarantee. That's how I met Alison. Little did I know that I was about to have my own personal "gemologist." Actually, once you realize that most mall jewelry stores are just a front for a loan company with ridiculously high interest rates, mostly for kids without credit, you will realize that you won't ever even consider buying from a retail shop again. Alison has saved me literally thousands of dollars over the past decade +, and the quality is better than any run of the mill jewelry store even gets their hands on. When I read my return policy from Diamonds International, I discovered that I needed a gemologist that had the highest level of certifications available. That's how I found Alison. I have also learned not to refer people to businesses I have used. You have a great experience with a plumber, then your friend says it was the worst plumber they ever had. So I'm careful not to refer. Alison is my exception to this rule. I absolutely know that anyone I refer will also have their own personal gemologist after one meeting. She's that awesome.
