Based on a recommendation by a friend I tried Lebua about six months ago. During that visit I had a great massage and scrub, the spa package. The place is 3 mins from my house, uber convenient. The establishment is very dated, but clean. So I decided to return a weeks ago. My experience was very different. I arrived for my appointment. Jackie was my masseuse. We started with the scrub the first time we started with the massage. When I went to take the shower, the bathroom was not clean. There was a lot of mold and mildew in the tiles, the shower chair was riddled with soap scum and mold. The towels were ragged and ruff. As I was drying off two ROACHES ran from behind the towel rack. After the shower Jackie said thank you. But I did not receive my massage. I spoke to the receptionist and I did get my massage. I informed the receptionist about the roaches. In closing I am so.....disappointed because I really wanted this to be my go to place. read more

They don't honor the yelp coupon unless you pay cash. (Not stated anywhere on here) I paid an extra $10 for a Thai massage (where they walk on your back) which I never received. I went with a friend who did receive the service (& paid the same amount as me at the same time) so I know there wasn't a miscommunication on my end. I didn't realize my masseuse wasn't going to provide that service until she had me flip onto my back & I noticed the clock indicate that there was less than 10 minutes remaining of my massage. I didn't complain in person because my masseuse was very sweet & I didn't want to cause her any trouble. Overall, I spent $100 ($80 for the 60 minute massage & $20 for the tip) for a lackluster combination massage. Definitely not worth the price. read more

I've been to a few massage places similar to Lebua and this one is my favorite. Easy to make a reservation every time I've called, even when I make it the same day. They allow you to request a gender for your masseuse. They offer "hands only" massage which I prefer, though you do pay about $10 more. The rooms are all clean and serene with dim lighting and calming music. I have always left this facility feeling more relaxed than when I came in. They make you do a 5 minute questionnaire before the massage where they ask you what you want and don't want massaged but when they start massaging you you realize they don't ever read it and massage you where you said not to. I typically go here after work for a nice relaxation session. The location is clean and cozy. You pay for the session up front and are then taken to the back rooms. Each room is clean and spacious with cute decor. I've been in single and couples rooms - I must say the couple room was great! The only thing is every therapist has a slightly different technique so I've had different (good) experiences each time. For example, sometimes you have the option to get walked on others you won't. I love Lebua Thai Massage. My husband and I have gone together every week for three weeks now, and each week we have had excellent massages. The atmosphere is relaxing and the skill level of the masseuses has been terrific. They listened to requests and the pressure was perfect. I am dealing with an injury and they have treated that with appropriate care. Highly recommend the hot stones! Sometimes I have had massages elsewhere that seemed to focus on everything but the places where I needed more attention, or had a massage that seemed incomplete/unbalanced. I introduced my mother to this place; it is expensive but nearby. My son and I had massages there on March 9, 2024--and it was a good experience. I booked another 60-minute massage for my son via phone on March 11, 2024. I dropped him off around 5:20pm; and the lady at the front desk asked me whether it was for 60- or 90-minute. I told her it was for 60-minute and that I'd be back to pick him up after work. She asked me if I wanted the hot stones, and I said yes. I later noticed that she charged my credit card for $110 (90-minute massage). I called on March 13, 2024 to ask about this charge; and she argued with me, saying that my son received his massage at 5:30pm--so that was why she charged me $110. I tried to explain to her that I dropped my son off early because I had to work at 6pm. She continued to argue with me. I told her that I booked my son's appointment for 60 minutes and that no hot stones were used. This is the same lady who called me to remind me to give a tip, which I did. I don't want to accuse this business of dishonesty. However, it was so hurtful how this lady treated a new customer. I have had a total of 3 massages in the span of 3 days. I also praised the staff for their friendliness; but this lady was not nice. I hope the management can provide training on customer service. This lady argued with me non-stop, even after I told her that the massage service was good--and that I will consider returning only if she rectified the error in the bill. She was completely immovable and kept insisting that I chose 90-minute massage. I told her that that was not the case, that even though I dropped my son off 1/2 hour early, I did not consent to a 90-minute massage. I don't think I will be returning. read more

She left to get hot stones and I could hear her drop them in the hallway. She came in and still used them. A customer came into the reception area and was calling out saying he had an appointment. No receptionist so my massage therapist left the room to help him, leaving the door to my room open, me naked on the massage table. Then came back to finish the massage. One of my besties took me here for a valentine's day massage, and I came out worse than when I went in. My friend had a great massage, which is why I'm giving 2 stars, but my massage from Ken was the worst massage I've ever had. His technique reminded me of going through a car wash without a car... he rubbed around in circles really fast and then he would stop and push a pressure point that shouldn't be pushed in that way, then back to the circles. I should have asked for another masseuse, but I was thinking "it can't get any worse right?". Well it did. After the crazy rub down, he leaves the room for several minutes without telling me why or covering me up with the sheet (so I covered myself up because now I'm cold at this point). When he comes back, he puts hot stones on me that must have come from the bottom of a volcano! I jumped in pain and he said he was sorry they were too hot, then he grabbed more stones and repeated the burning process. He ended up scratching me all over my back with the stones, which in combination with the oil they used ended up giving me a rash by the time I got home (see attached pictures). After all the torture so far, he whipes me down with a cold towel and grabs my toes one by one shaking my legs so violently that my torso shook along with it. The next day after my massage I was in terrible pain, so I made an appointment with a sports therapy massage to fix the damage that Ken caused. The massage I received was painful. I could handle deep tissue massages but it seemed like the masseuse was not trained to know what areas to massage or apply pressure. It felt like she was jamming her elbows into my bones. The massage was inconsistent; whatever she did on one side of my body was different from the other. When it came to the neck and head, it felt like she just took her hand and kept pushing my head into the massage chair. No technique, just laziness. Woke up the next day with bruises along my back, rib cage, and arms and feeling worse than when I came in. My husband was also there and experienced something similar. He is also bruised and in pain. To finish it off, they barged into our room without knocking while we were still getting dressed and started cleaning saying they have another customer. Very unprofessional. The low star rating reviews seem consistent with my experience. I hope if you go, you have a better experience. read more

Disappointed loyal customer here. My girlfriend and I have been coming to this place since 2019. The cost was $45 an hour. We took our time trying different masseuses and figuring out which ones work best for us. Ever since Van passed away, the place has gone downhill. Too many young staff in the front office that have no connection with the loyal customers. I mean, they've raised their prices to $60 an hour and we were still coming in every week. But I went in the day before Mother's Day and found out the new price is now $70 an hour! With $20 tips, that's damn near $100 every week??! When does it end?! On top of that, their "Mother's Day Special" was $80 an hour! I can not. With both of us going weekly, we've contributed lots of money to this establishment. We do it for our masseuses. I've been here twice now, and each time, I've had a great experience! The massage therapists are kind and attentive, and they listened to my requests and adjusted accordingly. The massage therapists also put in a lot of effort, and I know I'm getting a quality massage. The place is also very clean, and everything is routinely cleaned and disinfected. I usually get the Swedish massage since I prefer light to medium pressure. My muscles always feel less tense after a massage, and I leave feeling much more relaxed than when I came in. After two of my favourite masseuse left SN Thai, I decided to give Lebua Thai Massage a try. I tried both Studebaker and Bellflower location and had 90 minutes Traditional Thai Massage. Receptionist 2.5 stars: This big guy who works at Studebaker location was not that friendly and seemed annoyed to help customer feel welcomed. A receptionist at the Bellflower, a young guy on the other hand was very friendly. Gina and Pam did my 90 min Thai massage and they were both good but they are both old and toward the last minutes Gina spent way over 15minutes just massaging my head, and Pam did Hot stone massage which I did not ask for. I get it I'm tall 6ft guy, so providing massage for 90 minutes is not easy. So if you are going to ask Thai massage from Gina or Pam go with 60 minutes one. Today, my muscles were in pain and needed a good Thai massage. When Gina helped me I saw two other masseuse at Studebaker location, one shorter hair but tall lady, and other shorter but they were both looked way younger than Gina. So I called the Studebaker location hoping I could get 90min Thai massage scheduled with one of the younger masseuse to see if they can handle full 90mintes. The rather rude receptionist picked up the phone unfortunately (I can tell by his voice), and informed me they are all middle age and sounded very annoyed that I asked for younger female masseuse. I don't like being touch by male, so based on my two previous visits to Lebua, I made that request even explaining why. But he didn't seemed to want to even try to help me at all. Even the rooms are nice with wood panel wall. The room was a bit cold to start, but the bed is heated. Massage was pretty good although I think I should have gotten the deep tissue. I called on the day, and initially, I was told the schedule was all booked. A few seconds later, the receptionist confirmed that there was a cancellation and one opening available. I feel every Thai massage salons have different ways of getting ready for the massage. Meaning, I've been to a place where they offer a loose robe. But here, they told me to strip down to my underwear and lie on the bed. What I requested : COMBINATION MASSAGE - Half Thai and half Swedish. The Thai massage felt great. Fair, my masseuse, even walked on my top of back, guided by a beam, to relieve back pain. She was terrific at rolling all the knots on my back. I think I have a high tolerance for pain. So even if it hurts, I don't tell them to stop and man, it was hurting. But it was a feel-good hurt. The Swedish massage was relaxing as she placed the hot stone on my back and used the stone to massage my back. The hour felt like it was going by quickly. Overall, I would recommend this place. I use to go here for my massages right after school (CSULB). There use to be a guy named Mike who was my go to guy, but he's not working there anymore. However, I was able to get a massage by Nana (?) and she was amazing! I had a lot of tension in my neck and shoulder area, and she was able to relieve most or it. She was also able to stretch me out really well without any pain. It seems like all the massage therapist here do a great job. The facility is quite clean and the staff are very friendly. The only downside I would say about this place is the location. It seems like it gets pretty packed during the day. Lebua Thai Massage & Spa stays open pretty late and offer early bird specials which is pretty convenient for people like me! I'm not sure if it's under new management but the massage I had was not the traditional Thai massage Lebua is known for. It was more like a massage from one of those Chinese foot spa places.
