She always checks in to see how I'm feeling and what areas need attention, then tailors the massage to exactly what my body needs that day. You can tell she really listens and cares, which makes such a difference, especially during pregnancy. The office itself has a really nice, calming vibe and always smells so good when you walk in. It instantly feels relaxing. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. I originally booked 60-minute sessions, but I just scheduled my next one for 90 minutes because I don't want it to end! I'm so happy I found this place. It's also a huge plus that you can use your HSA funds here. I definitely plan to keep coming and will continue even after pregnancy.

Because of that, I don't say this lightly: Firm Hands has completely changed my mind. Every single experience I've had here--for myself, for friends, and for family--has been outstanding. The work is consistently skilled, intentional, and truly therapeutic. This isn't a "fluffy" massage that leaves you wondering what you paid for; it's thoughtful bodywork that actually helps. I've referred so many people to Firm Hands at this point that I honestly can't help myself--I recommend it to anyone who will listen. Whether you're looking for real therapeutic support or intentional self-care, this place delivers every time. Highly, highly recommend.

I've come with my wife for her massage appointment but the renovated building and additional equipment is phenomenal. They have and infrared sauna, hot and cold plunge therapy, cryptheropy iceless cold and heat compression therapy sleeves for injuries (that's what I came for), and of course their Sport, Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage, and Back, Shoulder and Neck massages. This is basically your one stop shop for relaxation and injury repair. I highly recommend this place and if you don't believe me, read the other reviews lol. Jonathan & his staff are welcoming, kind and extremely knowledgeable about injuries to the body, and the proper recovery methods to get you back to 100%. Also, the place was clean and had a fantastic therapeutic aroma smell. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

I want to give sincere credit to The NOW Massage in Long Beach for how they handled a difficult…read moresituation and made us feel valued as long-time members. My girlfriend and I have been members of The NOW for years! long enough that our current membership rate is no longer even available. We genuinely enjoy the brand and have continued supporting it because the experience has usually been consistent and worthwhile. Recently, we had an issue with another NOW location after a massage appointment was cancelled during a stressful emergency involving a chemical spill and mandatory evacuation orders near our home. Even though we cancelled through the app within the required timeframe, that location still removed our credits. After the situation was escalated, the Long Beach team stepped in and handled it with professionalism and care. A team member Brianna contacted us, apologized, listened to what happened, and let us know they would take care of us. That response meant a lot. She let us know that the GM/Owner Jaime knows who we are as long time members. What I appreciated most was that Long Beach did not make us feel like we were just another transaction or hide behind policy. They treated us like loyal members, acknowledged the situation, and worked to make it right. Customer service matters most when something goes wrong, and the Long Beach location showed exactly why we have stayed members for so long. We truly appreciate their follow-up, accountability, and willingness to take care of us. THANK YOU SO MUCH

I booked an 80-minute massage and paid extra for the deep tissue add-on. Before we started, I told…read moremy massage therapist that I'd like her to focus on my right glute because I have tight hips and sciatica. I also requested firm to deep pressure everywhere else. Overall, the massage was relaxing. It's definitely one of those sleepy massages where you can zone out and take a nap. The ambiance was nice, although I could hear people talking outside the room at times. My issue is that I don't feel like the deep tissue add-on was worth it. I specifically asked for extra work on my right glute, but it didn't feel like she spent any more time there than anywhere else. The pressure throughout the massage felt more medium-firm than deep tissue. I left feeling relaxed overall, but the tightness and pain in my right glute feel exactly the same as when I walked in. That's the entire reason I booked the appointment and paid extra for deep tissue in the first place. Relaxation is nice, but it wasn't really what I was paying extra for. For context, I was a Massage Envy Lakewood member for about a year before joining The NOW. In my experience, their therapists had a much better understanding of what "deep tissue" actually means. I was also a little turned off at checkout. The front desk associate asked if I wanted to leave gratuity, which of course I did, and I said 20%. Then she asked whether I wanted to calculate it based on the member price ($155) or the non-member price ($190). Why would I tip based on the non-member price when I'm a member??? I ended up leaving around a $31 tip for what felt like an okay Swedish massage. I think my therapist did her best and was very pleasant, but I didn't receive the service I specifically requested. What's unfortunate is that I literally just signed up for a membership before my appointment today. I may come back if I'm in the mood for a relaxing, sleepy massage, but I'll definitely be skipping any add-ons. Based on this experience, paying extra for deep tissue just wasn't worth it. I plan to submit my 30 day cancellation notice already.

When you check in you use their kiosk to explain what your problem points are, and you can request to exclude stepping and cracking, which for me is a huge perk. Public Health, Professionalism, and Customer Service Concern -- Long Beach Health Department and…read moreLos Angeles County of Public Health During a massage appointment, I observed that the masseuse, identified as "Pat," had visibly rough and irritated skin on both of her elbows, more rough on the left. When I asked about it, she stated it was just dry skin. As the massage continued, I became increasingly concerned due to the amount of direct skin-to-skin contact. I asked to see her elbows more closely. I used my phone flashlight to illuminate the dim environment, and I observed that Pat's skin on her elbows appeared red, raised and inflamed, 2 x 2 inches in circumference, covering almost her whole elbow. Out of an abundance of caution and concern for possible exposure to a contagious skin condition, I requested that the massage be stopped. Following this, my husband and I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager. We were initially told that there was no supervisor available and that no one would be available for approximately a month. This response was upsetting and felt unprofessional given the nature of the concern. After continued requests, another individual was eventually reached by phone (She refused to state her name) who communicated more clearly. During that conversation, both my husband and I felt that our concerns were mocked rather than taken seriously, which further added to our distress. I have reported this incident to the Long Beach Health Department and Los Angeles County - Department of Public Health. I am sharing this experience so others are aware of potential health risks, lack of professionalism, and egregious customer-service issues. If others have experienced this, they may consider reporting similar concerns to the appropriate authorities, if encountered. This review reflects my personal experience and concerns.
