I went yesterday with my mom and had the crappiest experience. She said she had a great massage but I did not. The guy that I got barely massaged just pushed and put pressure. I got the combo with oil barely got oil massaged and everything was over the towel. We had private rooms and at one point he opened the curtain and left it open for the rest of the time. Mind you im in there in just a towel. People are walking by and I can see them. He covered my eyes but I can see the light and hear everything. Then when we get to the counter to pay we give each of our people $10 tip and he was RUDE. Scoffed and pointed at the paper as to give him more. This was a treat for me and my mom that was all I had. $10 each is more than 10% for $60 massages. Tips are recommended not required. It was very ungrateful. I went in with a lot of knots in my shoulders and asked if we can work on getting them out. The entire time the lady was just laying her hands on my back, lightly tapping. I asked her a few times for her to go harder with the pressure and to work on getting the knots out, not just tapping. She stepped out of the room to get the guy that works at the front desk so he came in to let me know she doesn't speak English, which is totally fair so he translated for me but she proceeded to do the same thing. It was honestly a waste of time and money. I paid $60 for an hour of light tapping. I almost purchased 2 hours because of how many knotts I had in my back/shoulder and so I'm glad that I didn't. This is a great place for a foot massage but, both times I've had a full body massage it has been very uncomfortable. Constant rubbing in same place until my skin is irritated, pushing on spine, unbalanced (focus on one side most of the time?) very rapid, almost frantic, just not pleasurable at all. I have gone to this location for years and this place is a 10/10 for me. The vibe is nice and calming. The staff are amazing; professional, friendly, and organized. I usually get a 60 minute massage with hot oil (with or without stones) and I have never left disappointed. You can also mention preferred pressure or gender of your masseuse to the gentleman at the front desk and he is happy to assist. Would recommend calling ahead of time to make an appointment since they can get busy at times but I've never had an issue with walking in either. *This review is several months old, I just never posted about my experience* Hmm, so I usually go to a spa chain but when they're booked up I find one of these local spots to go to last minute - this time it was for the 30 min Foot Reflexology Weird setup in here, where the lobby and "front desk" are barely separated from the private rooms, the main walkway, and some cots; if you opt for a body massage, you get a room, but if you're just getting Reflexology, then you'll be on a cot in the main walkway next to the private rooms. You can hear people moaning, as well as the footsteps of other patrons and staff as they move about the place or chat amongst themselves. Very unnerving and makes it much harder to relax. The foot massage was good, nothing special, but the price was decent ($30), however, the 'owner' or the bald guy w/ glasses maning the "front desk," is pushy and if you don't leave a tip that he likes, quickly tries to push you out the door. Made an appointment to come in at 7:30 PM for 70 minute combo massage with hot oil. Apparently they start the clock as soon as you walk in the door so even though I used the restroom, it cut into my 70 minute time. The masseuse left a few times, did not start at 7:30 but ended by 8:35 so I probably got a one hour massage but was expected to pay for the 70 minute one. He also only used the hot oil once. The massage was OK, I expected better. I got long strokes and the type of pressure that hurt a little bit. Just finished my 60 minute reflexology massage for $35. I feel so good. They have many options but I choose the one performed jn an open space and with your clothes on. My massage included foot dip in water. Face up on a chair, a head massage, neck massage, arms, legs, feet, and then you lie on your belly and you get a back massage and lower leg massage ending with a nice firm shoulder and neck massage for the finish. My friend did the 70 minutes for $50 which is in a private room and they do a full body massage. Clothing is optional. She said she felt like she had knots in her back, arms, hands, even her feet felt like they had knots bc the therapist was able to release them all. All worth it!! Walk-ins are welcome. Ok let's start with aesthetics/atmosphere. Private rooms dont have floor to ceiling walls nor doors, so they're "semi-private" in my eyes. I just paid for the cheapest option which is body & foot massage for 1 hour which apparently is done out on the public tables (no biggie) No doors to the backroom so almost the entire time I'm trying to relax, you hear the washer and dryer going as you try to listen to the soothing music. Also I guess since its a public massage, I couldn't even take my shirt off which made the massage incredibly uncomfortable. Overall the foot massage was pretty good but my body massage was just awkward and not at all relaxing or pleasant. Personally I'd just goto a more expensive/upscale place, but judging by the foot traffic on a Saturday afternoon, these folks are very popular. Also just a side note, I feel like it's pretty insulting/unprofessional that you have a sign that demands at least a $10 TIP be given. My first time to try this place. I had a 60 min full body massage for 62 dollars. The guy literally spent 50 mins massaging my back. He spent maybe 5 minutes tops massaging my legs. When I asked him to massage my legs more as I needed more massage on my legs , he said NO! So I guess I don't have a choice but to let him do what he wanted. He left the room after 50mins. I thought we were done. He wanted me face up and he literally spent 5 mins not even massaging my arms. It was a joke. The owner was nice and I told him my story. Today I was in Long Beach from LA and after dropping my son off at my sister in law's, I had an hour and 45 minutes until my hair appointment and decided to call to see if they had any openings. After the man that answered consulted with several people, he told me they could take my in. I parked my car and walked in within minutes. I have been so stressed out and was ecstatic that I was going to be able to get a massage before my hair appointment. I walked in and the man in the back was massaging someone but signaled me to go into a room. Before I closed the curtain a girl came out and saw me in the room getting ready to undress. I undressed and lied down excitedly waiting. I waited and waited and after 20 minutes...I realized I now didn't have time for an hour massage and got dressed and walked out of the room. There was a man sitting at the desk who didn't speak English. He pointed at the menu like I should choose a plan. I said I've been in that room waiting for someone to come in for over 20 minutes. He couldn't speak to me and just kinda shrugged and I walked out. Never in all my years of going to get a massage have I been forgotten about. I've been to this place before and it was great. I noticed some people complained in the comments but you do need to consider the differences between a regular massage and reflexology. It may hurt a bit in the process but it's very much worth it!
