This gym is fine and serves its purpose I guess. But I like my workouts to be relaxing , which…read moreisn't really possible in this setting. At any given time, the thousands of mounted TVs show Fox News , ASPCA starving puppies, and some sort of graphic drama like SVU. Those three channels are on ALL THE TIME. I go to the gym to escape, not to continue seeing the horrors of our world blasted in my face. There are tons of machines, but about 1/3 of them are janky or broken. The majority of free weights and barbells are so old and worn that they don't have visible weight numbers , so I have no idea what weight I'm actually lifting. We were initially excited about the childcare they offer, but even that space is sad and uninviting so my daughter never wanted to go. (Also they incentivize members who leave 5 star reviews so take those with a grain of salt)

I am writing because the situation with one of your janitorial staff has become completely…read moreunacceptable, and I am done tolerating it. This is not a minor annoyance--this is repeated harassment, targeted behavior, and a blatant lack of professionalism from someone who has no business confronting members the way he does. This janitor has approached me multiple times in the locker room, following me around to lecture me about "making the floor wet" because I came out of the sauna sweating. Meanwhile, there are always several other members exiting the sauna at the same time, equally sweaty and using the facilities exactly the same way I am. He stares at them, says nothing, and then zeroes in on me. Every. Single. Time. Let me be incredibly clear: sweating in a gym--especially coming out of a sauna--is *normal*. Expected. Literally the entire point of the facility I'm paying to use. The fact that your employee thinks it's appropriate to tell a member to "stop sweating" is absurd. The fact that he told me to wipe down the floors myself because I was "too sweaty" is even more ridiculous. And the fact that he escalated this by running to the front desk to complain about me sweating is beyond unprofessional. He has threatened to "report me" to management for doing absolutely nothing wrong. I'm telling you right now: I will not to be harassed by an employee for using the gym properly. I will not be singled out while others are ignored. And I will not tolerate being followed or spoken to in a disrespectful, confrontational way in the locker room. I've been a loyal member here for more than three years. I pay for access to the sauna and locker room like every other member. If your staff cannot handle the incredibly basic reality that people sweat at a gym, then your training and supervision protocols need immediate attention. I expect this issue to be addressed swiftly and directly. If this continues, I will cancel my membership and make it very clear why. I am not going to keep paying for a hostile or uncomfortable environment created by an employee who seems more focused on harassing members than doing his job.

It was refreshing to see how Planet Fitness has evolved since I last went there three years ago…read more This Planet Fitness is easy to find. It was very crowded there. The parking lot had a few parking spots available despite it being noon time on a week day. I like how it is conveniently located in a large shopping center with many stores, fast food places, & restaurants. Planet Fitness membership was easy to self apply for, and the staff assisted us in checking in & answering all our questions. I was impressed with how clean and well maintained the fitness center was and how updated the exercise equipment was in Planet Fitness. There were enough attached weight machines and free weights to use there. I used the hydromassage bed, the thirty minute express weightlifting station, and Total Body Enhancement (only for black card membership) on my first day at Planet Fitness. The Total Body Enhancement is a red light therapy and whole-body vibration to help improve skin health, boost circulation, and aid muscle recovery. The hydromassage bed I used was in a private room, and it was a better experience that way. Overall, it was a good experience despite the traffic and having to park far away in the parking lot.

This is one of my favorite locations in the area because I generally get on the machines I want, and it is very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and the location feels safe. Comparing PF to other more expensive gyms it's really a great value. PF also offers the massage chairs, tanning beds, and uv treatments offered by other high end brands. I highly recommend PF, and this location is great.

I've definitely met a lot of people that really love it, which is great. Finding an activity you can stick with is the key! I'd have given more stars, but there are a few things that I wish were different: - It's loud. It's so, so, so loud. I wear earplugs, and even with the earplugs, my tinnitus is roaring after class. I basically flee the building as soon as I can. - Cramped. I wish there was more than 2-3 ft of space per person. People adjust sideway or move around to make it work, but it's weirdly cramped. The instructors are fine. Not much correction or assistance, IME. There's not any gym-chat (maybe partly because it's so loud it'd be very difficult to talk to others). Everyone I've been in classes with seem unwilling to interact. So, not a social/CrossFit-like option. If I could find a good weightlifting class anywhere else, I probably would give up going because of my sensory sensitivities, but for now, it's an okay option.

But the quality of the workout doesn't change. I can personally say that the coaches at this location have helped correct my form, including on the rowers. I'm running 5ks now because of the work I've put in at this gym! I go to one other location in the area, but this location seems to have better hours. I really like that they offer 45 minute classes at noon.

I was in town for the…read moreholidays - I live in Atlanta - and I happened to come across this gym after getting a day pass to work out at LA Fitness (which... ugh we don't need to talk about that). I googled it and it seemed decent, so I purchased a little three-menbership to use after Christmas. Getting the membership online was super easy, and the gym was very easy to access through the app. And the app itself is probably the easiest and most user-friendly gym app I've ever used. Points Pure Fitness! Those little cylinders get a little tight when you're entering, but you're only in there for a few seconds lol. The gym itself is a little on the smaller side, but it uses the space REALLY well. I love that they've got roadmaps of where everything is in the gym posted both outside and inside the gym, so it's very easy to find what you might be looking for. There's plenty of cardio equipment, plenty of machines, and multiple free weight areas, as well as squat racks, powerlifting platforms, Smith Machines, and a couple of bench press stations that can also double as squat racks. There's a nice little turf with sleds, battle ropes, and stationary tires. They also have a nice stretching/abs area, that also has multiple standing punching bags, which was really cool - I didn't use them on these first two visits, but I definitely will whenever I come back! The strength and cardio machines are Matrix machines, which I'm not the biggest fan of personally, but they absolutely still get the job done. And that's purely a personal preference as an experienced lifter and trainer, but it wouldn't/shouldn't inhibit anyone's experience at all. If I had to name any cons, it would probably be these two relatively minor things: -The layout takes a little bit of getting used. There doesn't really seem to be a pattern to how the machines are set up, legs and upper body machines mixed and in random places, but once you get used to it, it's fine. And the cleaning stations and trash/recycle receptacles are sometimes oddly placed, to where you may be right next to trash can, but have to walk a little ways to find a cleaning station, or vice versa. But we're all there to get a little extra cardio, too, right? Lol. (I also do appreciate that they have recycling stations, too.) -The locker rooms are mostly pretty clean, and there are plenty of showers, that mostly seem to be fairly clean, as well, and they're nice and spacious. I always shower and change after my workout, so that's appreciated. But the bathroom area was pretty filthy on both of my days there. I know that's kind of par for the course for 24-hour facilities, but on back to back days during the week, I feel like I saw the same filth spots in the bathroom area. Though on my second day, the cleaning guy was in the locker room cleaning in the afternoon, so that was great to see. And the rest of the gym seemed very clean, which I absolutely loved. Neither of these are enough to dock any stars, though. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Pure Fitness Springfield. I didn't really interact with any of the staff there, but other reviews seem to have very glowing things to say about them, so I'll take their word for it. And the trainer I saw on Friday seemed to be very engaged with his clients, which was cool. Northern VA is home for me, so whenever I come back, this will absolutely be my gym of choice. And if I ever move back long-term, I will definitely sign up for a full long-term membership and make this my home gym. Thanks for a great experience, and I'll be recommending you to all of my friends and family in the area! :)
