This LA Fitness completely meets my needs…read more I've been coming here for nearly six years. OK, I confess there were gaps when I wasn't coming here, but should have been coming here. This facility is large, airy and clean. Gym members are chill. I come here to lift weights and use the cross-trainer. This is the best gym I have been to for an abundance of aerobic machines. Of a slight bit of concern is that in my visit yesterday, I noticed a number of the cross-trainers and bikes had Out of Order signs on them. On the other hand, the weight machines are consistently well-maintained. There's a very good selection of weight machines too. While I don't use these particular amenities, this club has a basketball court, non-coed dry sauna and pool. A Jacuzzi might be in the pool area, but I don't know since I haven't been out there. I saw a complaint in a previous review about the staff mopping the floors while the club is open. I think it is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If LA Fitness didn't clean up during the day, members would be complaining about the messiness. Personally, the cleaning doesn't bother me. Well, it's about time this morning for me to get over there and do my workout.

Was going to give two stars just because the place has a lot of equipment, but I was extremely…read moreunhappy about what transpired with me going to try use this gym. Tried signing up with the free 3 day pass to try the gym and got an email with a QR code and then was forced to set an appointment time to tour the gym which I set up. Then when I get to the gym I mentioned that I was here for a tour of the gym I had to do but they just ignored me as I stood there for a few minutes until they asked if I needed help scanning into the gym. The employees at the desk then told me that they don't actually participate in the pass program even though it listed as directly from their location's site. After reading other reviews on google it's obvious that this has been a thing for over a year where they won't honor the pass that they themselves are distributing. The employees then tell me they can get me on a full membership or a $20 day pass which isn't really a "day pass" since they don't send you anything that shows its good for the day or for the next 24 hours. It's just for you to walk in right then. Not wanting to leave and give up a chance to work out when I already drove all the way down there plus making it awkward I just agreed to get a day pass. After going downstairs I noticed that while they do have a lot of equipment around a lot of it is in disrepair or is extremely old and missing things. Attachments for cable machines just lying randomly around the floor, dumbbells strewn around everywhere, dirty wipe cloths littering the floor and draped on half the machines. The place was very dirty and they have just one poor woman trying to clean the entire gym. Even more so as a health concern there were almost no supplies to clean and wipe down equipment after use with there being only one stocked wipe dispenser in the ENTIRE gym. People aren't going to clean after themselves if you make it so difficult to do so but as a result it's just asking for ringworm transfer or something along those lines. The only water fountains are broken and don't even have the buttons you need to activate them. Vending machines broken, equipment broken, and the gym just tapes a piece of paper on the side saying "repairs scheduled." The locker room was gross and had a nasty, musky mildew smell. TLDR: The worst gym I have ever set foot in so far. I feel scammed out of my money and the whole place is in a gross state of cleanliness and disrepair. Turned me off of ever going back to a LA fitness again in the future.

It was refreshing to see how Planet Fitness has evolved since I last went there three years ago…read more This Planet Fitness is easy to find. It was very crowded there. The parking lot had a few parking spots available despite it being noon time on a week day. I like how it is conveniently located in a large shopping center with many stores, fast food places, & restaurants. Planet Fitness membership was easy to self apply for, and the staff assisted us in checking in & answering all our questions. I was impressed with how clean and well maintained the fitness center was and how updated the exercise equipment was in Planet Fitness. There were enough attached weight machines and free weights to use there. I used the hydromassage bed, the thirty minute express weightlifting station, and Total Body Enhancement (only for black card membership) on my first day at Planet Fitness. The Total Body Enhancement is a red light therapy and whole-body vibration to help improve skin health, boost circulation, and aid muscle recovery. The hydromassage bed I used was in a private room, and it was a better experience that way. Overall, it was a good experience despite the traffic and having to park far away in the parking lot.

We have been dealing with broken equipment for years but this has hit an all time low. I had to try FIVE elliptical machines to find one that didn't wobble. 3/4 of the brand new elliptical machines are wobbling. The treadmills are wobbly. The preacher bench had a rag under it so it doesnt wobble. These machines are becoming expensive coat racks. It's not the staff's fault; they are very kind and friendly. The manager or the GM really need to pay this gym some attention... or dont and just tell us you dont plan to get it fixed and I'll remove my post and find another gym. I do appreciate how much cleaner it was. Once I let the staff know about all the cat and dog hair in clumps on the ground, I see there have been improvements.

I was in town for the…read moreholidays - I live in Atlanta - and I happened to come across this gym after getting a day pass to work out at LA Fitness (which... ugh we don't need to talk about that). I googled it and it seemed decent, so I purchased a little three-menbership to use after Christmas. Getting the membership online was super easy, and the gym was very easy to access through the app. And the app itself is probably the easiest and most user-friendly gym app I've ever used. Points Pure Fitness! Those little cylinders get a little tight when you're entering, but you're only in there for a few seconds lol. The gym itself is a little on the smaller side, but it uses the space REALLY well. I love that they've got roadmaps of where everything is in the gym posted both outside and inside the gym, so it's very easy to find what you might be looking for. There's plenty of cardio equipment, plenty of machines, and multiple free weight areas, as well as squat racks, powerlifting platforms, Smith Machines, and a couple of bench press stations that can also double as squat racks. There's a nice little turf with sleds, battle ropes, and stationary tires. They also have a nice stretching/abs area, that also has multiple standing punching bags, which was really cool - I didn't use them on these first two visits, but I definitely will whenever I come back! The strength and cardio machines are Matrix machines, which I'm not the biggest fan of personally, but they absolutely still get the job done. And that's purely a personal preference as an experienced lifter and trainer, but it wouldn't/shouldn't inhibit anyone's experience at all. If I had to name any cons, it would probably be these two relatively minor things: -The layout takes a little bit of getting used. There doesn't really seem to be a pattern to how the machines are set up, legs and upper body machines mixed and in random places, but once you get used to it, it's fine. And the cleaning stations and trash/recycle receptacles are sometimes oddly placed, to where you may be right next to trash can, but have to walk a little ways to find a cleaning station, or vice versa. But we're all there to get a little extra cardio, too, right? Lol. (I also do appreciate that they have recycling stations, too.) -The locker rooms are mostly pretty clean, and there are plenty of showers, that mostly seem to be fairly clean, as well, and they're nice and spacious. I always shower and change after my workout, so that's appreciated. But the bathroom area was pretty filthy on both of my days there. I know that's kind of par for the course for 24-hour facilities, but on back to back days during the week, I feel like I saw the same filth spots in the bathroom area. Though on my second day, the cleaning guy was in the locker room cleaning in the afternoon, so that was great to see. And the rest of the gym seemed very clean, which I absolutely loved. Neither of these are enough to dock any stars, though. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Pure Fitness Springfield. I didn't really interact with any of the staff there, but other reviews seem to have very glowing things to say about them, so I'll take their word for it. And the trainer I saw on Friday seemed to be very engaged with his clients, which was cool. Northern VA is home for me, so whenever I come back, this will absolutely be my gym of choice. And if I ever move back long-term, I will definitely sign up for a full long-term membership and make this my home gym. Thanks for a great experience, and I'll be recommending you to all of my friends and family in the area! :)

I must say, I am pleasantly surprised!…read more This LA fitness location is by far one of the better locations in the DMV. I stumbled on this gym after stopping to the Springfield Mall to pick up an online order from the nearby Target. Since I was out doing weekend errands anyway and had the gym on my list of "to-do's", I figured why not stop here for a quick workout. From the beginning, I walked in and was immediately greeted by staff. The location was very open and clean, with tons of equipment and exercise machines everywhere. It is split between two levels, with the main entrance including a lounge area and most of the exercise equipment on the second level. Talk about a gym junkie' play ground. This is it all packed in a semi-small floorplan and footprint, but at the same time a well planned-out gym and layout. I consider myself a somewhat heavy lifter (375 lb Bench and up to 80lb Dumbells) and not only did they have all the weights I needed, they had a few surprise things I wasn't expecting such as CrossFit equipment and a well equipped indoor HITT training area....in addition a full basketball court! Another pet peeve of mine is clean locker rooms, a gold star for this location and clean as expected. Oh! And, let's not forget a lap pool for swim enthusiast. In all, you cannot beat this location for all the amenities that they have. Initially, the gym appears small at first glance until walk to the main lookout floor on its lower level. It is here that you can find any and everything you need to have a productive workout and change things up every now and then. The only two drawbacks that I noticed about this gym was the broken sauna and the parking which can get tight....because it is shared with the mall parking. If only I lived closer, this would definitely be my gym!

The change rooms have steam rooms which are a nice touch after a good workout. I found the rates to be fair and Gabriel and his team of trainers are great! I've definitely met a lot of people that really love it, which is great. Finding an activity you can stick with is the key! I'd have given more stars, but there are a few things that I wish were different: - It's loud. It's so, so, so loud. I wear earplugs, and even with the earplugs, my tinnitus is roaring after class. I basically flee the building as soon as I can. - Cramped. I wish there was more than 2-3 ft of space per person. People adjust sideway or move around to make it work, but it's weirdly cramped. The instructors are fine. Not much correction or assistance, IME. There's not any gym-chat (maybe partly because it's so loud it'd be very difficult to talk to others). Everyone I've been in classes with seem unwilling to interact. So, not a social/CrossFit-like option. If I could find a good weightlifting class anywhere else, I probably would give up going because of my sensory sensitivities, but for now, it's an okay option.
