I do not recommend Blooming Smiles…read more This was our third visit. Our first appointment was excellent, which is why I recommended this office to several of my mom friends. Unfortunately, this third experience completely changed my opinion. When I arrived, the waiting room was packed with children. It immediately gave the impression that too many patients had been scheduled at the same time. As a parent, that made me question whether the focus is on providing quality, individualized care or simply moving as many patients through the office as possible. When I checked in, I explained to the receptionist that my son had another therapy appointment afterward and that we were on a tight schedule. I was assured we would be seen right away. Fifteen minutes later, we were still waiting, so I went back to the front desk. Instead of apologizing or checking on the status of our appointment, when I said I needed to reschedule no emotion and or apology was given. What was even more concerning was the explanation I received. I was told that the afternoons are "always busy" and that if I didn't want to wait, I should schedule morning appointments instead. That response was unacceptable. If an office knows it consistently runs behind in the afternoons, the solution should be to improve scheduling not expect patients to rearrange their lives around chronic delays. As a working parent, my time matters. My son has multiple therapy appointments each week, and I carefully coordinate my work schedule around them. I believe a 15 minute delay is understandable. Beyond that, patients deserve communication, transparency, and respect for their time. The lack of urgency, empathy, and accountability was incredibly disappointing. Based on this experience, I will not be returning, and I can no longer recommend this office to other families. There are too many excellent pediatric dental practices that respect both their patients' time and the overall experience.

I've been taking my two young sons to Dr. Cat and the Tooth (Dr. Catherine Guerrero) for their routine dental visits for the past couple of years. On December 11, 2024, we went in for their regular bi-annual check-ups, assuming--as usual--that our Delta Dental insurance was accepted. It had been confirmed at the time of booking, and nothing was said otherwise when we checked in. After the appointment, I was suddenly told that because we had Delta Dental, I needed to pay out-of-pocket and seek reimbursement myself. Dr. Guerrero claimed it was simply due to "how difficult Delta Dental had become" and that we'd be fully reimbursed. There was absolutely no mention that the practice had dropped Delta Dental and was now out-of-network as of late November. Months later, after not receiving a reimbursement, I contacted Delta Dental and found out the practice had officially ended its in-network relationship before our appointment. Because of that, we were only reimbursed a small fraction of the cost--and were left paying over $300 for what amounted to quick visits for very young children. I called the office to get clarity and was told we had been informed (we absolutely were not). I asked to speak with Dr. Guerrero directly and was refused. Instead, I received a dismissive email explaining how "financial times are tough." As a parent, I feel completely misled. If we had been told the practice was no longer in-network, we would have gone elsewhere--especially since many providers in the area still accept Delta Dental. This kind of lack of transparency feels intentionally deceptive, and I'm sharing this so other families aren't caught off guard like we were. I am very disappointed in Dr. Cat.

They would only allow one parent in the room, so I had to stay in the waiting area. Before my wife was even with our son in the operating room, THE GUY FORCED THE MASK OVER OUR SON'S MOUTH WHILE HE WAS CRYING, AND HELD IT DOWN WHILE HE FOUGHT BACK -- UNTIL HE FELL UNCONSCIOUS. My wife saw it from the hallway while she was running to the room, but when she got there our son was already out. The guy didn't introduced himself, didn't say what we were going to do, or what to expect. Neither did Cat. It was very traumatic for my wife and my son. I was livid. I complained after, and Cat apologized, but that was it. We regret taking my son here for years, from 4-6 years old. We should have left much earlier. They always push for anesthesia or laughing gas, your costs will be higher. We spent thousands of dollars worth of dental work here, and upon going to another dentist, learned that the dental care we received from Cat was not good, and it left my son needing even more work to fix it. For example, they pulled two of his teeth and put in spacers. They didn't want to keep adjusting his spacers which were causing his gums to bleed, so they removed them and said he must be allergic (he is not allergic to metal, it was their care). The new dentist couldn't believe they removed the spacers... this caused his incoming teeth to have no space, and his whole mouth was out of whack because the gaps had closed. We also got several fillings here, most of which broke or fell out; we would need to pay to get new ones. The last one fell out while he was eating, 13 months after getting them in. I called to ask if they could fix it, and they coldly told me, "No, you'll need to pay for new ones because we only cover them for 12-months." After thousands of dollars, tons of work done, they still care 0% about you. Run away from this place.

He usually starts crying as soon as he realizes we're going to the dentist, and in the past, we've had to hold him down just to get through procedures. As soon as we got there, the staff remembered that Marcus loves watching Mira and immediately offered to put it on for him. I was honestly so touched and surprised that they remembered! They talked to him calmly, worked at his pace, and adjusted to what he needed. Before we even realized it, they had finished his X-rays and cleaning -- without having to strap him down or hold him down. We only had to hold his hands to keep him from reaching toward his mouth. For our family, that was HUGE progress. Then Dr. Su came in, and as always, she was so gentle and patient with Marcus.
