I've been taking my two young sons to Dr. Cat and the Tooth (Dr. Catherine Guerrero) for their routine dental visits for the past couple of years. On December 11, 2024, we went in for their regular bi-annual check-ups, assuming--as usual--that our Delta Dental insurance was accepted. It had been confirmed at the time of booking, and nothing was said otherwise when we checked in. After the appointment, I was suddenly told that because we had Delta Dental, I needed to pay out-of-pocket and seek reimbursement myself. Dr. Guerrero claimed it was simply due to "how difficult Delta Dental had become" and that we'd be fully reimbursed. There was absolutely no mention that the practice had dropped Delta Dental and was now out-of-network as of late November. Months later, after not receiving a reimbursement, I contacted Delta Dental and found out the practice had officially ended its in-network relationship before our appointment. Because of that, we were only reimbursed a small fraction of the cost--and were left paying over $300 for what amounted to quick visits for very young children. I called the office to get clarity and was told we had been informed (we absolutely were not). I asked to speak with Dr. Guerrero directly and was refused. Instead, I received a dismissive email explaining how "financial times are tough." As a parent, I feel completely misled. If we had been told the practice was no longer in-network, we would have gone elsewhere--especially since many providers in the area still accept Delta Dental. This kind of lack of transparency feels intentionally deceptive, and I'm sharing this so other families aren't caught off guard like we were. I am very disappointed in Dr. Cat. read more

So much responsibility when you have children. Food, friends, Doctors, etc. The list goes on and on. I'm here to help, at least with your kids dental needs. I have been bringing my daughter to Dr Cat for the past 2 years, and her and her staff are tremendous! The dentist can be traumatic for any one, at any ago. For my daughter, Callie, Dr Cat is like a soothing beach breeze. She took a nervous little girl and within minutes had her mouth wide open, with no complaints! I floss my daughters teeth each day, sometimes the results are what you'd expect. No issues with Dr Cat! Callie is so comfortable now, that right when Dr Cat walks into the room, her mouth is already open. She actually said at her last visit that she likes the dentist! Dr Cat goes over everything with me, while also explaining to 3-year Callie, what's up too. I'd be remiss if I didn't include hygienist Ray in this review. That man is amazing with kids! His kindness and friendliness should be a template for many that work in the dental or medical industry. I know I am going overboard, but having taken Callie to a dentist prior to Dr Cat, I know bad. Few other things of note. -- To distract the kids, there is a TV placed in front of them whilst sitting in dental chair, which helps them relax. Callie is a fan of Bluey! -- The view is also beautiful, especially on a pretty day. -- When everything is over, the kids are allowed to pick out a toy or two. It's a nice touch. I feel super fortunate to have found Dr Cat. My daughter loves -- well at least, likes her a lot. I bet your kid will too. :) read more

Dr Cat and her hygienists were the best I've ever encountered. I am so impressed with the attention to detail they both had. The hygienist explained every portion of the cleaning to my 5 year old daughter and she did exceptional. We love her and her team! read more

I really did like dr cat at first. She was friendly and patient with my kids. However that all seemed to switch. X rays showed that my daughter had two cavities that needed to be filled. On our next appointment to fill cavities I was told that the two teeth now needed to be extracted. This was news to me as that was not what I was told originally. When I started to ask questions Dr. Cat replied "if we're not extracting the teeth then I might as well not do anything at all" that comment was aggressive. I felt like a was put in a tough situation so we went ahead and extracted one tooth. It was a lot for my 6 yr old daughter to handle in one session so we decided to do the second tooth during a different appointment. The second time my daughter was nervous and didn't like the taste of the anesthetic so she cried. Instead of working together to calm her down she replied "I'm not doing this. She needs to go under general anesthesia". And that was that. She had already numbed her and the second my daughter cried that comment was made. I always feel there is a polite way to say things and this was definitely not that. I think it's normal for children to be nervous and it's our job to talk them through it. Both situations really rubbed me the wrong the way. I don't usually write bad reviews as I know how much they can mean to a business but I really felt the need to share my experience. It seems Dr. cat has had great reviews in the past so I'm not sure what might be going on but I was very surprised with this treatment. I'm not a confrontational person. A concerned parent asking questions should not be brushed off. Very disappointed. Will not be coming back. read more

Love this place. Everyone is so kind and loving towards the kids, not to mention all the cool stuff they have for the kids. Definitely makes going to the dentist so much easier. My son (10) is always excited to see Ms. Cat and I enjoy that the appointment time is always that so no waiting around too long. Definitely recommend this place. read more

Just took my 18mo to her first dentist appointment this morning- we were really nervous because we assumed this would be somewhat traumatic. Boy were we wrong! While, granted, our daughter wasn't the biggest fan of the polishing tool, she was so comfortable there that she let the hygienist hold her head and clean her teeth with a pick (I was SHOCKED!) Really clean, nice facility with personal TVs for distraction but most importantly a really kind, gentle and knowledgeable dentist and staff. Only downside is I wish I could go here also but damn, just for kids. See you in 6 months, ladies! read more

Dr. Cat is exceptional! She is so kind and patient. Her team is lovely to deal with. I honestly cannot say anything bad about the experience, nor the personnel. Everything is kid friendly, from the plethora of toys in the waiting room, to the cuddle buddies in the operating chairs; Dr. Cat even shows (and explains) the equipment in a kid-friendly manner. My son had quite a bit of emergency work done: I was nervous - to say the least. My kid hadn't gotten any work done in over a year since we had many a mixup when we changed our insurance (to DELTA DENTAL HMO - Kaiser's dental plan). This visit was way overdue. When we came in for a consultation, Dr. Cat didn't skip a beat. She knew what needed to be done just by looking but took a few X-rays as well. They even cleaned his teeth while we waited for the other X-rays to be sent in from our primary dentist (so we weren't just sitting there waiting). I explained to the doc that he has been needing work for over 6 months but we were being knocked around by a different pediatric dentist. With stride, Dr. Cat scheduled us for the next day, but only after explaining to me what needed to be done (she even had pictures too)! Before the procedure, Dr. Cat took every piece of equipment and explained what they were for, tested them on his finger to show that they didn't hurt even though they "look pointy". She explained things in kid language; like the laughing gas was the strawberry clown nose that made you feel relaxed and calm, and the anesthetic was a rocket ship that made things feel numb and puffy. These are some of the little things that made the experience non-traumatic. There were incentives put into place beforehand that made the procedure something to look forward to rather than have anxiety about. We can't wait to go back! read more

Over 2 years ago I found dr.cat by referral . I wanna start by saying that everyone in the office is very sweet and friendly . This helped my daughter warm up quickly and feel VERY COMFORTABLE. Dr.cat took the X-rays and explained everything to us and gave us our options . I love how informative she is ! She's very gentle with our daughter which is also a huge plus . I highly highly recommend her , my daughter has had a few teeth pulled and as most kids would be scared to come back after a procedure like this, my daughter was smiles and ready to tell the whole office what she's been up too :-). read more

Amazing!!! Dr.cat is is a well rounded doctor, she is knowledgeable and appreciates her patients. Her energy, professionalism and attitude is top notch. Her office is clean, well kept and neat. The staff and dental assistants are also professional and very kind. I am so glad I found Dr.Cat and her staff she is a gem! Dr. Cat and her staff are fantastic! My 6-year-old was nervous about his appointment, but left asking if he could go again tomorrow! He's disappointed that he has to wait a whole 6 months to go back! Lol! The staff and Dr. Cat did a great job comforting my son while giving him a thorough exam and cleaning. Dr. Cat was so warm and inviting, and took special care to discuss my son's dental health with both my son and me (even explaining with comparison photos for reference, which was helpful). My family's experience with Dr. Cat was great. We came to her to treat my 4 month old's lip tie. Dr. Cat made a difficult situation so much better with her calm and loving demeanor. She was not only a confident practitioner, but she made us feel at ease with a situation we were very nervous about. Our daughter's lip tie was taken care of, and she called shortly after to check how things were healing, which I very much appreciated. Additionally the staff at Dr. Cat and the tooth and helpful and friendly, and the office itself feels welcoming. I'm so happy we were able to have this experience with them. read more

My first born is a patient of Dr. Cat, and now my second born is a patient too! The 2nd one is a little more dramatic with doctors, but her office was unfazed by his theatrics! Also, I love that I can take both boys in at the same time- her office gets it! No mom wants to drag both kids to two different appointments on different days, it's awesome they both can be scheduled at the same time! My older one loves Dr. Cat and looks forward to his appointments, and I know the younger one will come around after the terrible 2's. Love her and her team! read more

This is by far the best dentist ever. Her staff us fantastic too. When we got there, I expected to just pay out-of-pocket because I didn't know any better. Her receptionist guided me through on how to get a referral so I don't have to pay a single cent. She's super friendly and did everything in a timely manner. Dr. Catherine herself is great with both my kids. She recommended me to use silver diamine fluoride due to my son's condition as we went to see another dentist previously who recommended to sedate him instead. However, Dr. Catherine was extremely patient and was willing to spend a oot of time to calm our kids down. We went in twice and managed to fix all of my children's teeth with no sedative or anestesia (which I was highly against anyway). Her assistant did a great job distracting them. They also brought them gifts like balloons and toys. My children loved their experience so much that they wanted to go back again. It is like Disneyland! Thank you for being so kind. Unlike other dentists that seem scammish, Dr. Catherine and her staff truly care for their patients. Oh, and she is on-call 24 hours so if any emergencies happen, we can page her immediately! read more

As a kid I remember going to the dentist was always a horrific experience. I was terrified at the thought of having to take my two toddlers to the dentist as a parent. So I did my research and read all the amazing reviews about Dr. Cat. And let me tell you all the great reviews about Dr. Cat and her staff are true!!! Dr. Cat and her staff are amazing! Any fear I had literally stay out the door as soon as we entered her office. First, the office is so kid friendly and adult friendly too. She has an area for coffee and tea for the adults. There is a play area for the kids with a toy cubbies. Once you go in for your visit there is a monitor playing Cars movie in the chair. Best part...the dental tech made the boys feel so comfortable with literally explaining everything to the boys. I love that she explained everything. By the time she started my 3 year old was ready. The cleaning itself went really fast. My 2 year old even did well (he is the crazier one). Dr. Cat came in and evaluated their visit and explained everything to me. I love how she address all of my concerns and some. SHE IS AMAZING. The boys loved being there and they were rewarded for their visit. I was so happy with the visit I made two calls on my way home to other moms to let them know how Dr. Cat needs to be their new pediatric dentist for their kids. 10 STARS to Dr. Cat and her friendly staff!!! read more

Today we went to Dr Cat for my stepson's first dental visit. He's 5 years old and was obviously anxious because his birth mother said he'd be "getting drilled" so yeah... From walking into the office, the receptionist was amazing and helpful. And then the dental assistant was absolutely great and finally, we met Dr Cat. She sat down on the floor cross-legged in front of my stepson, showed him all the equipment and what they do and was incredibly kind and gentle. My stepson got his teeth cleaned, inspected and fluoride placed on his teeth. We have to go back at the end of the month to get treatment for a small cavity but we are in the best hands. My stepson chose a goodie from Dr Cat's special treasure chest and left with a smile. With some time, his anxieties will soon cease with the help of Dr Cat. Dr Cat... She's amazing. She's kind. Dr Cat has been nothing but great from the start with us. We've had the run around for the last year due to our insurance and conflicting plans of action for my 4 year olds cavities. She was so friendly at our first visit, & very conservative in her plan. We went back to have the fillings done with laughing gas, and she was great. However my son couldn't tolerate the whole appointment and we scheduled to come back to finish. We came back for our next visit, and he spent an hour and a half crying that he didn't want to have anything done. She was SO kind, so patient with him, gave us time to talk to him and try to calm him down, very thorough and explained everything to him & although we weren't able to complete the fillings due to my sons meltdown, they didn't charge us for an hour and a half of her time wasted with us! I cannot say enough about Dr. Cat, her staff, and the overall energy of the office. Dr. Cat not only notices and tends to the big things, but the little ones as well. I went in for a second opinion for my daughter who needed extensive dental work done and Dr. Cat was so friendly , kind and patient with my child. She then gave me a detailed treatment plan with visuals which i was able to see exactly what was going to happen to my child . A++++ Cannot speak high enough on my experience with Dr. Cat. She is absolutely incredible. I had several procedures done, including a filling, cavity repair and teeth check up. The process was as friendly, professional and painless as could be, and she was wonderful every step of the way. Super responsive and kind staff. Brand new office, with TVs equipped with netflix in every patient room. Also amazing with kids. I'm always skeptical about getting swindled with dentists, doctors, mechanics, you name it. Best pediatric dentist for both my girls. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old with soft enamel, which means lots of issues for their teeth and Dr. Guerrero treats them with professionalism and kindness. I love how endearing she is and always does her best. She is very thorough and meticulous. She is also very strong, which is important when you have a dental emergency with a toddler. Stop reading reviews and call Dr. Cat. She is absolutely the best with kids. Our daughter has had two cavities and an extraction and left the office smiling every time. She shows the kids her tools and tells them what she's going to do and puts it in kid terms (Big hug for your tooth now.) She also has Netflix in every room, which is a big distraction for the kids and helps a lot imo. Dr. Cat is such a nice lady and actually remembers you when you come in. I absolutely love Dr. Cat! I've been taking my oldest (who also said she "really likes (her) singing tooth doctor") to her for 4 years and haven't been disappointed at any visit. Recently my youngest (age 2) fell and knocked 4 teeth loose. Dr. Cat went over the xrays with me and showed me "possible root fractures" but we decided to wait and see if her teeth/gums would strengthen back up on their own, which they did!! She allowed for breaks when he got restless, overall a great experience. The entire office staff is friendly and explain procedures and billing throughly. I have 2 daughters and my oldest daughter has extreme anxiety when it comes to dentists. Dr. Guerrero made them both feel so comfortable from the first time we stepped foot into her beautiful office. She is so warm and loving. She really truly cares about her patients and making them have the best possible experience they could ever have at a dentist office. She explains everything very thoroughly to the kids so they understand exactly what she's going to do before she does it. This helps a lot. My daughter just had several baby teeth pulled and it was over before my daughter even thought it began. Dr. Guerrero was incredible through the whole thing and my daughter didn't feel any pain during the procedure. After every appointment, Dr. Guerrero gives my girls rewards/toys and they love that!
