Wow!!!!! What an amazing experience I had today. I took three of my kids here today for the first time. From A to Z my experience was flawless and pain free. I don't have a photo of my sons first dentist appointment with his Pediatrician Dentist Dr. Lecia Harmer but after 15 years it has come to an end. Dr. Harmer is the most gentle caring dentist. We saw a few others that left our daughter very anxious. Dr. Harmer and her staff worked with our daughter over many visits to gain her trust. Lecia Harmer is my absolute favorite dentist that has ever existed. This is a LONG LONG LONG over due review. Buckle up and sit tight. I have some things to say! My son who is now 9, had to have 6 teeth fixed when he was 4..? He may have been 3. By the time we noticed a cavity and our dental insurance kicked in, it was like 5 months later. (We came in with both of our kids and my daughter who is scared of a lot, really liked Dr. harmer. Thank God. ) Our son got his exam and Dr. Harmer said we needed to act quickly because he had quite a few cavities. We opted to have him put to sleep via IV, instead of the gas. Dr. Harmer actually doesn't like the gas as it could mess with kids developing brains. I really loved that response because I felt like she was thinking of the kids in the future and a lot of people just say "it's fine." We had an anesthesiologist named... DOCTOR EINSTEIN. No I am not joking. My husband and I were very nervous as this was going to be a big deal having our son go under. However, doctor Einstein was absolutely incredible. He talked to us DAYS before the procedure and told us how to pre numb our son in certain areas of his arms so that there would be no pain for him. He sent picture diagrams and gave us an Rx for lidocaine cream. Day of, we showed up and he had us bring him into the room and get comfortable before the procedure. He let him play with the brain monitor he would wear later and see the heated blanket and how it worked, too. When the time came, doctor Harmer came in and talked with ollie and got him laughing and talking as Doctor Einstein put in the IV. They told us to sit next to him, hold him gently and help him relax as he fell asleep. He was out in less than 20 seconds. I cried. What an experience. As they proceeded with the work on his teeth, the nurse came out and gave us updates and the doctor came out and one point too. They also had the whole office cleared and said we could come back any time and check on him. Dad and I just cried in the waiting room the whole time. LOL. Everything went smoothly and the doctors woke him up. We were there as his eyes opened and he was soooo out of it. Doctor Einstein actually carried my son all the way out and to my car for me. My husband was getting the car and my son was so heavy!! I didn't even have to ask him, he saw me start to struggle and just smiled and picked him up and said "lead the way." Overall, we had an amazing experience with doctors Harmer and Einstein. We continued to see doctor Harmer until we moved to the Bay Area [insert major crying facing]. Honestly wish she saw adults because I would love to have her as my dentist. 5/6 years later, and I still talk about our experience here. Her staff was also amazing! I wish we lived in LA still. I have been taking 2 of my children to see Dr. Harmer for a few years now and it is always a wonderful experience. Since the first time I brought my kids to her office I never have any trouble bringing my kids in for a visit, even when one of my children had a get a few cavities filled. Actually, my motivation for writing this review is because Dr. Harmer treated my child with such care and TLC that he forgot that he had to go in for a cavity and not just a regular cleaning. I do currently recommend Dr. Harmer to some of the other Mom's that I know and it was actually another Mom that refereed me. Always, grateful!!! read more

Dr. Harmer is by far the best doctor my son has ever been to, I wish all doctors had her bedside manner! My son has a lot of stranger anxiety right now but Dr. Harmer and her staff were so friendly, he was more relaxed here than he is around some people he sees often! We weren't sure how it was going to go, he has never been to the dentist before, but he was so chill - due to her sweet demeanor that she was able to do the exam and give him a fluoride treatment with only two seconds of crying, literally. I thought it could have been a total disaster. Sooo glad we've found a wonderful dentist for my 18 month old as he gets older! read more

Literally the BEST pediatric dentist around! I was super nervous about my 5 year old having a cavity filled. Not only did Dr Harmer calm MY nerves, she did the filling without my daughter even realizing there was a shot or any drilling done. She's also filled teeth on my 7 year old without any issues. 10 STARS! Never did I ever think my child would love going to the dentist! Dr. Harmer and her staff are beyond amazing! Let me explain: They are so kind, gentle and explain everything in detail to my child and alleviate and unknown factors before they're even a thought. We see dr. harmer twice a year, but my kid asks me at least once a month "can we go see Dr. Harmer". All the hygienists we've seen have been amazing, and Dr. Harmer is a gem of a dentist... got me wishing I had someone like her as a dentist when I was a kid! Choosing a toy from the toy display is like a cherry on top! Parking- the building has its own parking lot which the office provides validation for. read more

I was going to this office when I was in high school and had braces. I probably should've gone to another office that was an adult dental office. Anyways the pro is that the cleaning was always very thorough. What I didn't like was that they were trying to push me to get my four wisdom teeth out and wanted to refer me to a wisdom teeth surgeon to do that. I kept telling them that the wisdom teeth weren't bothering me and that I was too scared of surgery. They pushed me to do more xrays then what's healthy or medically necessary and would try to do that at every appointment. Panorama xrays hurt my mouth because it is very small and I remember asking the dentist doing the xray to stop. I guess the work environment isn't great or something because the employees lack empathy and are too afraid to lose their job. The xray hurt me and after that visit at the office I transfered to a new office that specialized in adults and never want to go back to this one. Also it has been several years since that visit and I never got my wisdom teeth taken out and I'm okay. Take Lecia dental advice with a grain of salt and pick a different office. read more

I am very happy to have found this dentist for my 11 yr old son. The staff there are so welcoming and friendly. They make sure you have filled out all paperwork forms before you go into the office. The dental hygienist was so wonderful and gave my sons teeth a really good cleaning. The dentist Ms. Harmer was also so friendly and they ask if you want your child to watch the iPad while they work to help ease their mind or tension. The office is immaculately clean and very nicely decorated. I would highly recommend this dentist to anyone. read more

Dr. Harmer is truly AMAZING! She has made the impossible, possible. My 7 year old daughter has been absolutely terrified of going to the dentist. The moment we stepped foot into a dentist office she would keep her mouth shut tight and cry hysterically, trying to run out. I tried many dentists that had great reviews on dealing with scared kids before I found Dr. Harmer. Unfortunately, none were able to get through to my daughter without using force (which traumatized her more) or completely giving up and telling me there was nothing they can do without putting her to sleep which would cost me over $1,000.00 for each treatment. After being told the same thing time after time again by different dentists, I had no other option but to continue searching for a new dentist and that's when I found Dr. Harmer. This office gave a completely different experience the moment we stepped foot through those doors. Not only is Dr. Harmer incredible with her patience, but so are the dental assistants here. In less than a year, Dr. Harmer worked hard to earn the love and trust of my daughter. Now my daughter sits alone on the chair without any problems and recently got a tooth filling and extraction with no tears! I didn't think this day would ever come, I had been so overwhelmed and stressed when it came to dental visits for my daughter. But not anymore, I can never thank Dr. Harmer enough!!! When it comes to dentists, I'm always trying to pick a dentist that I can trust (because I'm generally sensitive with people working in my mouth!). This gets amplified by a million (no exaggeration) when you start to pick a dentist for your children. I'm so happy to say: Dr. Harmer is one in a million. She's so amazing!! From our first experience, she was genuine, warm, professional, and most of all - made our 6 year old feel comfortable in a potentially uncomfortable situation. She even sent us a follow up thank you note in the mail, after our first visit! A few weeks after our initial visit, our munchkin fell on the playground at school, and damaged her tooth and the inside of her mouth pretty badly. Dr. Harmer saw us immediately and helped us through the situation - even calling us later that night to check in and see how she was feeling. It is the rare combination of Dr. Harmer's knowledge/professionalism/experience coupled with her genuine kindness and positive energy that make us feel incredibly lucky to have her as our daughter's dentist. May I just say, Dr. Harmer is truly the TOOTH FAIRY!!!! She is 100%, hands down the BEST pediatric dentist out there. My two sons previous dentist tied the boys down for fillings and other procedures. This left my older son completely traumatized and he developed a fear for going to the dentist. Unfortunately, he had so much work to be done in his mouth, I felt desperate to find another dentist in hopes of having a better experience. I was referred by a friend to give Dr. Harmer a try. It was one of the best decisions of my life. She is so sweet, attentive, tender, and has the most calming presence.
