First time trying Ethiopian food and I'm counting down days till I go back! The food taste and quality alongside presentation was AMAZING! Now I ordered the Ledet combo and it was a very filling portion. I honestly think you could share it with maybe one other person. The food was seasoned perfectly and everything paired together nicely. This is a restaurant/sports bar/venue hence their night hours which I honestly think is perfect. I have mixed reviews about Ledet. The food quality was amazing, very tasty .... seasoned well .... however the portion size was disrespectful .... especially for the price. I ordered the (Chikina Awaze Tibs) filet mignon awaze tibs, and it was great! ... the issue was, instead of injera, I substituted it with rice .... and that was a big mistake. The portion size of the rice couldn't fill up a 5 year old. So basically I had so much Tibs and sauce with no rice to eat it with ... Keep in mind, I order from different Ethiopian restaurants all over Atlanta as I'm east african myself ... and their competitors give out amazing portions and are much cheaper! ( Embilta Cafe) for instance ... their portions are 3 times what Ledet gives, & it's cheaper!!! read more

I love Ethiopian food. This place was okay. First it's a very dark ambiance in this establishment. Very dim lighting, not sure if they are going for a lounge type vibe or not but it's dim. We ordered the beef combo platter and sambusa. The sambusas were DELICIOUS. The combo platter comes with plenty of injera and I was quite happy with the amount of food on the platter. There were 3 types of beef, awaze tips, lentil, beef, delicious cabbage and salad. The combo platter was okay. Maybe the ambiance deterred the flavor :/ but it was just okay. read more

I found this eatery to be a non-lavish but quaint hole in the wall restaurant. The food was great and prices are about the same as other Ethiopian restaurants. I came in during lunchtime on a Tuesday. The restaurant was empty around 12:30 with a person trickling in here and there. But a little after 1pm it quickly filled ... native Ethiopians. Good sign! It is authentic in its dishes, staff and language. I ordered the Ledet Combo with chicken instead of beef. I was a little disappointed that they did not offer a combo plate with the usual veggies, beef, lamb and chicken. So, I ordered the beef combo and changed it to chicken with the exception of the ground beef which there was not substitute for. This combo was $15.99 and would've cost me an additional $5.00 to add a taste of lamb. It was delicious and enough food for 3 to 4 people in my opinion. Overall, the location was not the best. But the food was plentiful and delicious! if I'm ever in the area again during lunchtime I'll stop in again. read more

Ledet needs some boosting! I would never have known of this place if it wasn't for a good friend who is Ethiopian. We just started a Sunday Supper Club and this was the first stop since a few in our group had never had Ethiopian. She highly recommended this location because it reminded her of home. That's all I needed to know. The sweet and hospitable owner of Ledet (one of the first, if not the first person to introduce Ethiopian to the metro area) laid out a tasty spread for us. Miser wot (red lentils), kik alcha (yellow lentils), fosolia (green beans w/carrots and potato), tofu be gomen (minced collard greens and tofu), derek tibs (beef), lega tibs (beef), yasa tibs (tilapia), salad and awaze (sauce). Aside from the meat options, I had a bit of everything and it was all so delicious! Of course, there was injera as well which is the bread staple that is used to eat your food with. There is no silverware when it comes to Ethiopian dining - you tear off some injera and use it to pick (pinch) your food up. We were all so stuffed and content with our meal. My favorites were the yasa tib, greens and fosolia. What I love about Ethiopian food is the abundance of spice! So many fantastic flavors going on. I'd be intimidated going here for a first time without a chaperone to help guide me but the staff was great about explaining things and catering to dietary needs. (vegan/vegetarian dishes, gluten-free injera) Per the other review, venturing on your own may not yield the same results but the food is worth a shot. The location was a bit tricky to find but they are off of Memorial Drive before you reach Rockbridge. You will think you are lost or venturing into questionable territory - just keep going. read more

Awaze Tibs was banging and my brother enjoyed the vegetable combo !!!!!!! I would order over and over again. So flavorful and not too spicy. I paid $14 and it didn't even come with a drink. Sheesh. However, they're open really late. Trying to feed myself and a vegan around 10PM is a bit of a challenge at times. Our food took no longer than 20 minutes. They provided us with more than enough injera for our meal. I wish the exterior of the building was just as visually pleasing as the inside but that's just my opinion. This is a restaurant and bar . This spot is not for beginners to eating Ethiopian food. You have to know what you what here. The staff will not help you chose a dish or explain the menu to you. The waitress don't speak much English . The food is good here but their not that social or friendly with Americans . Meh not so tasty. Try other places. They charge you for injera when you order through Uber Eats. How could they when injera is a staple of Ethiopian food! Just lame that they do. I've never gone to an Ethiopian restaurant and have to pay extra to include Injera with my meal. I ordered the veggie combo and the kitfo. The veggie combo is lacking flavor. Glass in our meal killed it for us...so disappointing. So, my friend and I went to this restaurant on Father's Day. We ordered the veggie combo and sambusa. Initially, the meal tasty and we were enjoying the fresh, flavorful dishes, until my friend took a bite that had something hard in it. We spoke with management and after a closer look, it was glass. The manager seemed to become upset that we said anything and we were equally unhappy. A meal that started well was ruined. Ok so in the middle of doing my laundry I had a craving for Ethiopian food.Now this is usual for me since I've been friends with Ethiopians since 11,the issue was finding a restaurant because I'm used to going to their homes to eat.This was the nearest place so I decided to check it out.Now the place is at the end of a small plaza next to Ethiopian stores so I passed it and had to turn around.I walked inside and smell of incense hit me,but wasn't overwhelming.Two Ethiopian men sat in a booth chatting as they ate from a huge platter.The waitress came to me with a menu and as soon as I seated myself took my drink order. When she came back I already knew that I wanted to order the Ledet combo,which is 2veggies with 2 beef tibs prepared 2 different ways,kitfo and ayib,a shredded beef side I can't remember and a salad(it sounds like a lot but I wanted enough to take home for dinner).I chose my veggies to be collard greens and cabbage and my food was delivered promptly while still hot.It was maybe a 10 minute wait.I quickly grabbed my first piece of injera and dove in.The beef tibs were perfectly cooked and were not tough at all.I ordered my kitfo raw and it was just a tiny bit seasoned and served with mitmita,a hot pepper sauce.I made sure I sampled some of everything for this review but I devoured all of my kitfo and ayib,collards and salad.The only negative I have was the waitress didn't come and ask how my experience was going and I had to keep flagging her down.All in all a great place for myself to go to when my Ethiopian friends can't cook for me.Will be back. read more

I'll keep this short: they make the best (vegan?) veggie combo platter I've ever had at an Ethiopian restaurant (well, at any restaurant, really). Inexpensive, big enough for two or three people, well-seasoned, and incredibly hearty. Lentils 3 or 4 ways, turmeric potatoes with cabbage and carrots, delicious beets, spicy salads, and as much injera as you can eat.. I've been back three times and brought friends - despite living over 100 miles away. They've all loved the place. Worst service ever! Ordered off the menu and they didn't have that item anymore. So instead the server picked a dish for me without me knowing. I was brought out a plate of something completely different than what I ordered and when she got another lady-im guessing manager or owner, she tells me the server gave me this plate cause they didn't have what I wanted and a lot of ppl like this one. I was like are you serious!? She just chose what I was going to eat? Then the same server didn't talk to me the whole time I ate (after I told them to bring me something else) until I asked for my bill. She then put my bill across the bar for me to grab. I had to stand up out my seat and reach over two plates to get it. Terrrrrrible server! The older lady who i spoke with was very nice but that server sucked!
