Awaze Tibs! Great flavor! small portion for the rice!!
    Robleh I.

I have mixed reviews about Ledet. The food quality was amazing, very tasty .... seasoned well .... however the portion size was disrespectful .... especially for the price. I ordered the (Chikina Awaze Tibs) filet mignon awaze tibs, and it was great! ... the issue was, instead of injera, I substituted it with rice .... and that was a big mistake. The portion size of the rice couldn't fill up a 5 year old. So basically I had so much Tibs and sauce with no rice to eat it with ... Keep in mind, I order from different Ethiopian restaurants all over Atlanta as I'm east african myself ... and their competitors give out amazing portions and are much cheaper! ( Embilta Cafe) for instance ... their portions are 3 times what Ledet gives, & it's cheaper!!!

I love Ethiopian food. This place was okay. First it's a very dark ambiance in this establishment. Very dim lighting, not sure if they are going for a lounge type vibe or not but it's dim. We ordered the beef combo platter and sambusa. The sambusas were DELICIOUS. The combo platter comes with plenty of injera and I was quite happy with the amount of food on the platter. There were 3 types of beef, awaze tips, lentil, beef, delicious cabbage and salad. The combo platter was okay. Maybe the ambiance deterred the flavor :/ but it was just okay.

I had tried the more popular Ethiopian spot here in atl ( starts with a D) and was told it was commercialized and was recommended this place! Def was better and i will be back! I had leftovers and was so happy!

I found this eatery to be a non-lavish but quaint hole in the wall restaurant. The food was great and prices are about the same as other Ethiopian restaurants. I came in during lunchtime on a Tuesday. The restaurant was empty around 12:30 with a person trickling in here and there. But a little after 1pm it quickly filled ... native Ethiopians. Good sign! It is authentic in its dishes, staff and language. I ordered the Ledet Combo with chicken instead of beef. I was a little disappointed that they did not offer a combo plate with the usual veggies, beef, lamb and chicken. So, I ordered the beef combo and changed it to chicken with the exception of the ground beef which there was not substitute for. This combo was $15.99 and would've cost me an additional $5.00 to add a taste of lamb. It was delicious and enough food for 3 to 4 people in my opinion. Overall, the location was not the best. But the food was plentiful and delicious! if I'm ever in the area again during lunchtime I'll stop in again.

    Yum yum and then some.

Ledet needs some boosting! I would never have known of this place if it wasn't for a good friend who is Ethiopian. We just started a Sunday Supper Club and this was the first stop since a few in our group had never had Ethiopian. She highly recommended this location because it reminded her of home. That's all I needed to know. The sweet and hospitable owner of Ledet (one of the first, if not the first person to introduce Ethiopian to the metro area) laid out a tasty spread for us. Miser wot (red lentils), kik alcha (yellow lentils), fosolia (green beans w/carrots and potato), tofu be gomen (minced collard greens and tofu), derek tibs (beef), lega tibs (beef), yasa tibs (tilapia), salad and awaze (sauce). Aside from the meat options, I had a bit of everything and it was all so delicious! Of course, there was injera as well which is the bread staple that is used to eat your food with. There is no silverware when it comes to Ethiopian dining - you tear off some injera and use it to pick (pinch) your food up. We were all so stuffed and content with our meal. My favorites were the yasa tib, greens and fosolia. What I love about Ethiopian food is the abundance of spice! So many fantastic flavors going on. I'd be intimidated going here for a first time without a chaperone to help guide me but the staff was great about explaining things and catering to dietary needs. (vegan/vegetarian dishes, gluten-free injera) Per the other review, venturing on your own may not yield the same results but the food is worth a shot. The location was a bit tricky to find but they are off of Memorial Drive before you reach Rockbridge. You will think you are lost or venturing into questionable territory - just keep going.

I tried this place because my daughter live there food. My experience was interesting, because I like to try new things. It was a cozy little spot, the food and service was good. Would I go back? Yes. I did enjoy myself, but only in the day time. It's way back in a corner of a strip mall.

Awaze Tibs was banging and my brother enjoyed the vegetable combo !!!!!!! I would order over and over again. So flavorful and not too spicy. I paid $14 and it didn't even come with a drink. Sheesh. However, they're open really late. Trying to feed myself and a vegan around 10PM is a bit of a challenge at times. Our food took no longer than 20 minutes. They provided us with more than enough injera for our meal. I wish the exterior of the building was just as visually pleasing as the inside but that's just my opinion. Overall I'm pleased with the food and I'll bring my dad a few friends next time.

This is a restaurant and bar . This spot is not for beginners to eating Ethiopian food. You have to know what you what here. The staff will not help you chose a dish or explain the menu to you. The waitress don't speak much English . The food is good here but their not that social or friendly with Americans . This is why I could only give them 3 star. The restaurant hours are 11am- 12am and even later on the weekends . You may even catch a live performance on some Friday nights .

Veggie combo with fish goulash. 2 dishes in one.

That's usually a pretty good sign. I've only had Ethiopian food at two other restaurants around the Metro Atlanta area, and honestly, neither one was particularly memorable. This place is a completely different story. Every time we visit, the experience is consistent, no matter how busy they are. The decor is inviting, the service is always friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is consistently clean and well-maintained. My wife and I usually share the Tibs Platter with ribeye, lamb, and filet. The meat is always incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. We also order the Miser (spicy lentils), Atir (split peas), and plenty of injera. The combination of flavors and textures is amazing, and every bite complements the next. One of the things I appreciate most is how approachable they make Ethiopian cuisine for first-time visitors. If you've never had Ethiopian food before, this is a great place to start. The staff is helpful, the food is flavorful without being overwhelming, and the experience is unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant. If you're ever in the Atlanta area and want to try Ethiopian food, this place will not disappoint. Even if you're a little hesitant about eating with your hands, don't let that stop you. After a few bites, you'll understand why so many people keep coming back.

Today we finally went, and the experience exceeded expectations! The food was excellent and the staff were helpful and answered my questions about the food and helped me and my wife decide what to get. The combo platter is a great option for trying out several different meats and veggies and it does not break the bank. There was plenty of food for 2. The building was nicely appointed and the convenient hand washing station made the experience of eating primarily with your hands much less messy than one might think. As a person who is not very good with spicy heat, there were still so many foods that I could eat without my face melting. The dry spice mix and the dipping sauces were too spicy for me, but it did not matter, as the food had plenty of seasoning and flavor packed into it already. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other offerings!

Parking is shared with other businesses in the plaza, but there is plenty of available parking, including enough space to accommodate 18 wheeler trucks. When we first arrived, the older employee seemed a bit intense. He encouraged us to take our time reviewing the menu, but remained nearby watching us before we ordered. He also came across as somewhat aggressive while my friend was placing their order. After another customer voiced a complaint and left, his demeanor appeared to improve and the remainder of the visit was more pleasant. The food portions were very generous. We ordered the goat with chapati, which resembles roti skin, and two people were able to share it comfortably and leave satisfied. We also shared the king fish and rice, which was excellent and still left us with leftovers. Another friend ordered the tibis with spaghetti, and that portion was large enough that leftovers had to be taken home as well. The menu described the tibis as spicy, but we did not find it spicy at all. The food was flavorful, the portions offered great value, and there was plenty of seating available. While the service could have been more welcoming at the start, the quality and quantity of the food made for an enjoyable dining experience overall.

I had gone down (by Uber) to Atlanta Vintage Books for the afternoon to lounge in their chairs and…read moreread books, soak up the culture and enjoy their resident cats. I had not eaten before I left and after several hours there, I was HUNGRY. Because I had taken Uber, I asked the lady at the counter where was the closest restaurant within walking distance. She directed me across the street - just a hop skip and a jump from the bookstore. to Jebena Bistro. Never having eaten Ethiopian food, I decided to give it a try. As "Noelle" to the right, said, it's a little "hole in the wall". From the outside, it's nothing to write home about. But as soon as I walked in, I knew I was going to enjoy it. First of all, the lady that waited on me was so kind and welcoming. I asked her for her recommendations and she suggested several things. I ended up choosing the vegetable platter. When she brought it out, she explained to me that they eat with their hands. There was no silverware. She showed me the bread that they use to soak up the food with. It was made of a sponge-like substance and was rolled up. The platter was SO good. I quickly filled up and had to get a "to go" box which was filled with food. The amount of food I received for price I paid was ample. It easily made me a second meal at home. This wasn't a fancy place. But the food was very tasty and I will go back in the future.
