I had been wanting to try Egg Coffee and was able to stop by one day. I read online that egg coffee tastes very similar to tiramisu. This description is very accurate. The drink was incredibly creamy, and the egg topping had a custard-like texture. I feel like this drink is a lot more like a dessert than your typical Vietnamese coffee though. I usually drink 4 shots with Starbucks cold brew iced coffee, and somehow Le Drip still tastes even stronger while keeping that really original Vietnamese coffee flavor. One cup was clearly lower than the other, even though they were supposed to be prepared the same way. Stopped by the area pretty early on a Friday morning and really needed some coffee that isn't Starbucks. Decided to give this place a try and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and very patient with my questions about the menu items. I ended up ordering a banana coffee , which is banana cheese foam(?) over cafe su da-definitely gave me some needed caffeine boost. They also had a steam meat bun available so I ordered that as breakfast, also pretty good. Le drip is the place I go to for Vietnamese coffee if I am in bellaire. It's a pretty decent place to go to. The Vietnamese coffee sometimes can be a bit too strong that it makes me nauseous but it was only once. I wanted to try their Vietnamese coffee. I had the egg coffee cause I was looking for a sweeter taste. Unfortunately I'm not a coffee drinker so my body couldn't handle the caffeine lol. If you want a strong, sweet vietnamese coffee, Le'Drip is the spot to go to. There aren't too many in the area that do these unique flavored drinks like lychee, ube, pandan, etc. They also have matcha but...... I got: 1) Salted cheese foam - Good, sweet strong viet coffee. I like the coffee itself! The cheese foam on top despite being named "cheese" is not cheesy haha so don't worry. It adds a nice fluffy saltiness to balance out the drink 2) Black sugar matcha - I did not like this one... the matcha isn't great, the black sugar syrup overpowered the drink, so it kinda just tasted like boba milk tea. Not good imo 3) Black sugar Bac Siu - same thing as the matcha, the syrup overpowers it and the mixture of the viet coffee and syrup just becomes a sweet latte. Not great and I wouldn't get this one again 4) Pandan Bac Siu - I like this one! Basically, the coffee is the same in all of them but the cream top above is what changes. The coffee itself (like I previously mentioned) is good, and the pandan cream top is sweet, fluffy, and pandan forward. I will continuously update this review as I try more drinks! I ordered 2 for a taste test of how much is close to it is to what my Hubby had in Saigon VN . It fell short to VN because first the egg in this coffee was not pasteurized at all but because it gave us the run to RR like right about almost finishing the cup we both went to bathroom bc only me and him drank it out 5 of us none in family but me and him had the run ins. One major factor is that the coffee was not creamy and rich in coffee enough to compare to VN egg coffee he had previously so if you are looking for good egg coffee this is not the place to trust your eggs to be pasteurized maybe other drinks are safe here as long as they cook or boil but if calls for raw of something donot order here. I think I will try here but other drinks yes but never again the egg coffeee here, please ask them first how long have they had those eggs sit out or is it even pasteurized?? They source their coffee beans straight from the motherland of Vietnam, and we all know Vietnamese coffee is truly the best.
