Was going back and forth with myself for nearly an hour about where I should order a matcha from considering HTX has so many cafes its makes it hard to choose. Anyway, I couldn't make up my mind on if I wanted a banana pudding matcha or a strawberry one and when I saw they had to option for me to get both the decision became so much easier. Le Drip is one of the most legit and delicious Vietnamese coffee spots I've tried. The coffee here is seriously strong in the best way. Tried pretty much all types of flavor: egg, ube cheese, pandan and tbh they all have their unique taste. Can't decide which flavor is better LOL. I usually drink 4 shots with Starbucks cold brew iced coffee, and somehow Le Drip still tastes even stronger while keeping that really original Vietnamese coffee flavor. The shop also has a very cute setup and decoration. I loved the giant phin coffee display and the banana leaf tree decor -- it gives the place a fun and memorable touch. The space is not very big, and since I went on a Saturday, it was definitely busier than usual, but the overall vibe still felt warm and welcoming. There aren't too many in the area that do these unique flavored drinks like lychee, ube, pandan, etc. They also have matcha but...... I got: 1) Salted cheese foam - Good, sweet strong viet coffee. I like the coffee itself! The cheese foam on top despite being named "cheese" is not cheesy haha so don't worry. It adds a nice fluffy saltiness to balance out the drink 2) Black sugar matcha - I did not like this one... the matcha isn't great, the black sugar syrup overpowered the drink, so it kinda just tasted like boba milk tea. Not good imo 3) Black sugar Bac Siu - same thing as the matcha, the syrup overpowers it and the mixture of the viet coffee and syrup just becomes a sweet latte. Not great and I wouldn't get this one again 4) Pandan Bac Siu - I like this one! Basically, the coffee is the same in all of them but the cream top above is what changes. The coffee itself (like I previously mentioned) is good, and the pandan cream top is sweet, fluffy, and pandan forward. I will continuously update this review as I try more drinks! Service is by far the best and most fast in the complex. By the time you finish paying (or even before) the drink is already given to you. Stopped by the area pretty early on a Friday morning and really needed some coffee that isn't Starbucks. Decided to give this place a try and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and very patient with my questions about the menu items. I ended up ordering a banana coffee , which is banana cheese foam(?) over cafe su da-definitely gave me some needed caffeine boost. They also had a steam meat bun available so I ordered that as breakfast, also pretty good. I ordered three Coconut Lattes in the same size with the same "less ice" customization, but they came out with noticeably different fill levels. One cup was clearly lower than the other, even though they were supposed to be prepared the same way. Le drip is the place I go to for Vietnamese coffee if I am in bellaire. It's a pretty decent place to go to. The Vietnamese coffee sometimes can be a bit too strong that it makes me nauseous but it was only once. I wouldn't really go here for their matcha because honestly I think it taste watered down and not enough matcha flavor. There are a lot of coffee options with traditional condensed milk to flavored foams and even egg coffee. Don't be put off by egg coffee, its essentially tiramisu cream on coffee, so yes its amazing. I also really like the black sesame one and its a tad lighter on the caffeine.
