It smells in here. It really does. I don't know if it's dust, or unwashed patrons, or if the…read morebuilding or carpet just need updating desperately, or what. It's also not intuitive, when you walk in, where different departments might be located. And ... there are always unhygienic members of the community lazing around in the entrance or out in front,... staring at you. In all fairness, I haven't tried the library's programming, interlibrary loan system, ebooks or other services - maybe they're spectacular. I hope they are.

The librarian will give you a tour and share with you the history of this beautiful building. Not the usual type or style of building you would find in a small east Texas town. Built in 1934 during the Big oil Boom. In addition to being a Beautiful library, we spent a little time in the children's section. Great selection of titles and genres for all levels of readers. On the bulletin board we quickly checked out some of the summer activities. We live out of town. But if we were local this would be a place we would frequently come too.

There is an excellent selection of incoming titles downstairs and a…read moreshort trip up the elevator, there's a huge set of fiction (I like the scifi/fantasy section myself) and an even bigger selection of non-fiction. Plus, your library card allows you to access digital collections too; I have an audiobook checked out right now. The staff have always been kind and helpful and the library also hosts events and clubs for the public. I'm a regular at one of those clubs. It helped me make some friends with shared interests after I moved here. This is one of my favorite places in town.
