I purchased a TCI transmission from Summit Racing. The original installers at lee county transmission did installation. The unit leaks all over my driveway. I had to return several times week after week after week. New employees showed up. They could not repair the leak. After $2,000.00 installation repair is INCOMPLETE! Transmission leaks out of several connection areas. TCI won't reimburse me for bad installation. Everyone blames everyone else. Rod the master tech says "I can't find good help all my technicians left" I was told I will have to repair unit myself. read more

Date of repair completion, January 27, 2021. I generally do not write reviews, but I feel the ownership and personnel of this business deserve the acknowledgement of my appreciation for their professionalism, quality, precision, efficiency and expertise. They are extremely easy to work with. Before writing this review, I wanted to wait 3 months to make sure that the repair was successful. My vehicle runs as well as it did when I first purchased it and better than it has for a very long time. I had Lee County Transmission rebuild the transmission of my 2004 GMC Yukon. The transmission cooling system rusted and the anti-freeze and transmission fluid mixed together. Needless to say, the transmission needed to be rebuilt. Even though they were extremely busy, they were honest about the timing and worked me in since it was my only vehicle. I did have to wait a few days to get in, but it was all worth it. They delivered the repair as scheduled. I had competitive quotations from other sources and Lee County beat the other estimates by 15 to 20% without any request for a discount. I took my car in to have the transmission checked. They told me it was faulty motor mounts. They replaced the two mounts and charged $937.20. The average cost would be between $470 - $552.00. They did a lot of talking to cover up the price. Big mistake! Would not recommend using them!! read more

There is simply nobody better than Rod. Several years ago I took my 2006 Ford there because of a transmission shudder at light throttle. It felt like a washboard sensation and dropped out of overdrive. I was ready to drop 2K on a transmission if necessary. After a road test with some diagnostic equipment Rod asked me "when was the last time you changed the transmission fluid?". Never, at 83K miles it looked good. Turns out I learned a thing about Ford and friction modifier in Mercon V fluid. A filter and fluid change alleviated the issue and now at 146K miles and 2 more fluid changes I am still driving trouble free. That moment I realized I could rely on Rod and Lee County Transmission and Exhaust Center. I will never go anywhere else. I will always recommend them for their honesty and extra effort. read more

Very trusted place to take your car. The owner let me take my car AFTER hours and sat it up on the outside jack, took a look up under my car knew right away what the problem was. He was able to take care of it the very next morning for me to pick up that afternoon. No appointment set up at all and they were busy! Thought I would share my experience and disappointment with this company, In August 2017 I lost my overdrive in my 2005 F150. Upon calling and talking to Shawn he stated "Maybe its nothing big" after I asked what it would cost to rebuild it. So I took it there and got a call from Rod the owner who said "You need it rebuilt". After a long pause I thought maybe he was right since it had 179K miles on it. Well $2365.00 dollars later, it was done in a couple days. Upon inspection of the truck I noticed the driveshaft along with U-joints were completely rusted on the surface at the very least. I went back inside and told the owner that "The driveshaft on the truck was not the one it came in with." Rod the owner said "Yes it was". I told him I know the truck well since I did the oil changes as well as brakes, rotors, Tires, etc... I even got under to take a look at the Transmission before I took it there. I had my eyes on the driveshaft because I wondered if the U-joints may need replacing (a job I'm not willing to do) in the future. I asked if they left it outside because of all the rust. Rod stated "Nope". My concern was with the rusty U-joints in which Rod said "There fine". Well 13 months & $335 later (Sept/2018) I needed U-joints as well a yoke that was cracked. Coincidence??? Well, maybe. In August of 2019 I had a Ford dealer just outside Philadelphia look at my 4 wheel drive and ended up replacing both Hubs for $500 since the mechanic who did the work was a personal friend I had it done. Nice to have the 4wd option back to working. Well last month I felt what I thought was a grinding or catching noise underneath me as I drove it. So I took it back to Lee County transmission and had Shawn take it for a ride. He stated "It sounded like the Torque converter". He asked Rod to take it for a ride and he stated "The tranny is shifting fine and that it was probably the Transfer case". Well I got a used Transfer case with 44K miles on it for $391 and Rod charged me $212 to install it on 4/29/19. Well within the week it was making the same noise as before so I took it back today (5/6/19)and ask Rod if he had my old transfer case in which he stated "We do". I told him well you either misdiagnosed it or the part I had ordered was bad. He asked me to leave it and I did. Two hours later Rod called me and told me "The actuator for the 4 wheel drive was bad and was $53". Well this was one he probably should of ate himself after the wrong diagnosis. He said "The transfer case was definitely bad". I asked for the old Transfer case back in which he stated "The scrap guy was there Friday and took it". Well I know its Monday now but you told me you had when it when I walked in this morning. So I wonder if an attorney is in need here? We will see. John M. read more

This place is incredible! Rod, the manager (the owner?), gave me the opportunity to find cheaper parts to lower the cost. Given the fact that most repair shops profit from the markup on the parts they order and install, I was stunned when Rod suggested that I try and obtain a critical part (a portion of the transmission wiring harness) from a junkyard rather than paying $1,300 for a whole new harness from Toyota. That was after he had spent hours on the phone trying to find a source himself! Any other shop simply would have ordered the necessary part, installed it, and included the cost in my bill. In the end, I managed to fix the damaged portion of the harness myself, thus saving over $1,500 in parts and labor! Thus, it didn't surprise me in the least when I recommended Lee Transmission to a friend and he laughed as he told me he had been going there for years. In fact, he told me a story of his own: he took his truck into LT certain his transmission would need to be replaced and told Rod that's what he expected would need to be done. When he returned to pick his truck up, he was handed a bill for $68. When he looked at the bill and said, in amazement, "68 bucks!", Rod thought he was complaining that the bill was too high! As Rod started to explain why the expenses on the bill were necessary, my friend explained to him that he was thrilled, not upset. What amazed him was the fact that he had told Rod he was expecting to pay for new transmission. Many other shops would have seen that comment as a golden opportunity to make money on unneeded repairs. Rod, on the other hand, did only what was necessary. Simply put, Rod and Lee Transmission are, by far, the most ethical, customer oriented auto repair team I have ever encountered. read more

What a great experience. Checked out Yelp to figure out where to take my car for an exhaust problem. Called to make a appointment to get a quote. I was assisted within 30 seconds of my arrival. Was given a price in 5 minutes and was told they could do it right then and there. Besides great conversation with the owner, the work was done and I was on my way 40 minutes after my original appointment time. And best of all, I was charged $153. I would go back there in a second. Clean, reasonably priced and the whole time there, I felt like I was dealing with an extremely reputable honest hard working shop. read more

I had a big problem with the exhaust system on my Toyota Hylander. It would have cost more than $1600 for them to replace it. The service writer suggested I ask Lee County Transmissions and Exhaust if they could weld it. They did it while I waited for about $350. They were efficient, courteous, and they saved me a bundle. Really poor customer service here. I brought my vehicle in on a Monday, Rod said it sounds like the shift cable. When I received no call back, I called at 4:45. He said he hired someone who didn't show and it would be tomorrow. Tuesday I called at 12 and 12:30, no answer. He called me at 1:00 and said it was the shift cable and they would have to order the part. I explained that I worked at 5 am and it was really inconvenient to ask someone to drive me to work at that hour of the morning again. He said he would do the best he could. I got no phone call. Wednesday I called him about 8;30 and he said it would be done late morning. When I picked it up, no apology or acknowledgement throughout this that it was a great inconvenience. It seems if he knew what it was, it could have been ordered Monday, even if he didn't have enough help to repair it, and put it in Tuesday. i would not recommend them to anyone expecting to have their car ready in a reasonable time or to be treated with any kind of courtesy, after paying $446. read more

I highly recommend bringing your vehicle here if you need transmission work. I was told by 3 businesses in Naples that my 2008 Saturn Outlook needed a transmission replacement, which was going to cost me over $3000. I was feeling very discouraged until a friend suggested I take it to Lee County Transmission for another opinion. This friend has lived in Fort Myers his entire life and said Lee County Transmission was the best around. It was a bit of a hassle for me, getting my vehicle from Naples to Fort Myers, but it was WORTH IT. As it turned out, I didn't need a transmission replacement, only a repair which cost me about $1000. They were very friendly and honest. After they repaired my vehicle, they told me they wanted to keep it overnight to have the opportunity to drive it home, to make sure the problem was indeed corrected. When I went to pick up my vehicle the next day, I noticed he even took my vehicle to the car wash. It has been a couple of months now and my vehicle is running so smooth....it has never run this smooth since I purchased it over 2 years ago. I hope I never need another transmission repair, but if I do I am definitely returning to Lee County Transmission. I hope this review is helpful and ends up saving someone money. read more
