1 star. Only because the option to leave zero doesn't exist…read more I want to write this review carefully, because I want it to actually be useful - both to people deciding whether to come here, and to UCLA, if anyone there is paying attention. Dr. Nabili is excluded from this review as he was wonderful, kind, caring, a pleasure to deal with, and helped me breathe again. Start with the basics: getting an appointment at UCLA ENT Santa Monica takes close to a year. Not weeks. Not months. Nearly a year. While certainly not the first time, I was recently told I had to make an appointment with Dr. Gail Ishiyama, who I had seen in the past, but though my symptoms were severe, I had to wait a year. Whatever is happening with your health while you wait is your problem to manage alone. By the time you're seen, your symptoms may have progressed, your records are scattered, and you're starting from scratch with a doctor who has fifteen minutes and no real context for what you've been going through. Then the appointment itself. Rather than taking a full picture of what you're describing, the approach seems to be: identify the most obvious thing, form a conclusion, and move on. Other symptoms you mention - even ones that matter, even ones that could change the picture entirely - don't make it into the notes. You can watch it happen in real time. You say something, they don't write it down, and you realize it won't be there the next time. When I came back and did the work myself - organized my symptoms, connected the timeline, laid it all out so clearly that there was no ambiguity - it still didn't change the outcome. There was no curiosity about what I'd put together. No reconsideration. The conclusions had already been formed, and the new information wasn't going to disturb them. What makes this worse is the ping-pong. You'll be told your issue doesn't fall under what one doctor handles, so you're sent somewhere else. That doctor says the same thing. You're bounced around within the same system, each handoff resetting any progress you'd made, nobody taking ownership, nobody coordinating. You are not a patient with a case. You are a referral being managed. Dr. Gail Ishiyama's husband, Dr. Akira Ishiyama refused to make an appointment altogether. First though, his staff told me I had to get a hearing test before they'd even consider making an appointment. Which I did. Then, they told me he took one look at some of the symptoms I had reported on a similar but different issue and said it's not his area. When I explained the difference and concern regarding temporal bone trauma, they said he deals with cochlear implants and ear tumors. Interesting since his profile explicitly says "Dr. Ishiyama is actively involved in the research projects on Meniere's disease and Human Temporal Bone Pathology." (Exactly what I needed.) I have read other reviews describing exactly this pattern - the initial warmth that fades once things get complicated, the dismissal, the shuffle between doctors, the growing sense that asking too many questions makes you a problem rather than a patient. I am not an outlier. This appears to be how the system here operates. If you have something simple and easy to categorize, you may be fine. But if your situation is complex, if your symptoms don't fit a clean script, if you need someone to actually think alongside you rather than process you, this is not the place. You will spend months getting appointments, thousands on copays, leave with less clarity than you came in with, and potentially with symptoms worse than before. Go somewhere that will listen to the whole picture before deciding what it means.

Solution is vegetables but for urgent repair work is well washed raw vegetables smoothie. A friend who had it for 4 years and under my advice stopped in two days. After one week of peace a bite of turtle chocolate triggered it immediately. After 10 years and dietary changes and B-12 shots tinnitus finally stopped for her. We were looking at ice cream, and she was looking at the flavor she will choose, and her ear started to ring. A doctor told me about 45 years ago that the eyes tell the system what is about to come in. I became a believer when I witnessed the effects. I changed my diet 9 years ago and my health did a fantastic recovery. I take Liver Supplements and eat a lot of veggies with small amounts of meats. I can stop symptoms now, produced by the liver as a language, within less than 1/2 hour. I noticed like tinnitus and eye floaters are sugar related. The liver loves vegetables especially raw vegetables. I hope I provided a direction of treating most disorders including tinnitus. Jak Bicaci, Architect Jak.Bicaci@gmail.com

I traveled from out of town to see Dr. Larian after consulting with two other doctors in my area who did not impress me with their knowledge or recommendations. From the moment I met Dr. Larian, I was immediately impressed by his bedside manner, friendliness, and professionalism. He took the time to thoroughly explain my condition, discuss his recommendations, and review possible outcomes. He answered all of my questions with patience and respect, and by the end of the consultation, I knew without hesitation that he was the right provider for me. His credentials and experience certainly speak for themselves as well. Following surgery, my recovery was more challenging than expected, and I encountered some unforeseen issues. Throughout this difficult time, Dr. Larian was incredibly supportive and attentive. He stayed in close contact, monitored my progress, and continued to support me until everything was fully resolved. That level of care and commitment truly meant a great deal to me. Today, I am fully recovered and extremely grateful to Dr. Larian for the excellent care he provided. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, skilled, and genuinely kind physician. I would not hesitate to see him again if ever needed. Thank you so much Dr. Larian!

His broad scope of expertise, humanity, tact, and sense of humor have made a lasting positive impact on my life. Like most of his other patients, I can say without hesitation that I consider him and Peggy to be a part of my extended family. I will never forget receiving an unprompted call from Dr. H late in the evening many years ago after they learned of a sudden health crisis that my parent suffered. Thankfully, my parent's crisis eventually resolved; but that brief check-in from Dr. H touched me deeply. I knew that I was not alone and that he genuinely cared. Unheard of in modern medicine, when you call their office after-hours and connect with the emergency line, the phone rings at Dr. H's house. They trust their patients not to abuse that access; but the small number of times that my family needed it, Peggy and Dr. H were on the other end of the line, providing useful information and reassurance, even at 4AM. My experience as a patient of Dr. H's played no small role in my own journey towards becoming a physician. I often find myself trying to recall one of his totally unique and pithy one-liner jokes when I need to break the ice with a new patient. Family practices like this one are virtually impossible to find these days. The world would be a much better place if everyone had a medical team like Dr. Horowitz and Peggy.

With covid and how things are run differently now, communication is KEY! Peggy sent me all the health forms that needed to be completed in a timely manner via email. She was wonderful at responding to my emails, and she made things so easy! They went out of their way to see me in person in a really short notice as my visit required necessary clearance for my nursing program. They only have certain days for appointments but she made an exception for me as my work schedule conflicted with their in-person office visits. Peggy also sent me my labs on a Saturday as I requested if she could send it to me as soon as they receive it.. they are closed on Saturdays and she did that for me (I am so grateful!). I also want to say that I drove from Monterey Park to Dr. Horowitz's office on a Friday during the time that there is so much traffic (traffic alone in this area if you already know is hideous) but I would do it again! Thank you so much Peggy and Dr. Horowitz!!
