Both were not just served but presented beautifully on wooden boards. We had to try the Syrniki and were delighted. You aren't going to find over the top portions here, but the meals are satisfying and prepared with fresh quality ingredients. The berries on the Syrniki were huge, juicy and tasty. Flourish is not your daily breakfast spot but definitely one we recommend and will revisit on occasion.

So, I opted for a Carrot Cake pastry and a large Chocolate Chip Cookie. Both were adequate, but less than the rapturous experience I was hoping for. The Choco Chip was very sweet and crunchy, but without many chocolate chips. The Carrot Cake looked great, but its flavor was muted. The cake was not as moist as I anticipated, and the icing with a mild light cream texture, as opposed to the heavier cream cheese topping I was expecting. Not at all what I was craving. Sure, it may have saved me from calories and a diabetic coma, but I was looking for a small splurge. This place clearly was too healthy and sensible for my moment seeking temporary indulgences. And the concoction I got was basically just chocolate ice cream with everything all mixed together as a single shade of brown. I paid $12.95 for this terrible thing. I showed the staff the problem. They looked in my cup. They refused to do anything about it. I asked for more pistachio/kanafi crunch stuff and they replied that their manager wouldn't like that. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed with this, so much so that I wrote corporate. KFT has no business selling this for $12.95. If you pay a premium price for something (drinks are normally $5 to $7 here), you expect it to be decent. I feel like I was severely cheated.
