I have been a fan of Lee's for my entire life and still enjoy the cheesesteaks, Italians and cheeseburger hoagies. I frequent the a Quakertown area and yesterday was wondering why I don't eat at the Lee's in Quakertown EVER? Passed by around 11:30 and no one was there , thought it may be closed but there was an open sign so I stopped in around 1:00 pm on my way home. The place looks like it did when I was a child 40 years ago and the bathroom hasn't been remodeled since for sure. I always judge a place by their bathroom, so I took a few pictures..... I'll say the sandwich was ok but really skimpy , really , really skimpy as you can see. I realize why I never stop here and I would never ever bring my wife here. Friendly staff. The sandwiches for the half are a good size. Definitely enough for a filling meal. Supreme half hoagie with sweet peppers: decent. It came with cheese though I wish there was more. Aesthetically it doesn't look anything fancy but the taste is pretty decent. Everything was made fresh in front of me. Stopped in for a cheesesteak tonight and I must say it was one of the best I've had in quite sometime! I had coopers sharp cheee and fried onions and mushrooms and it was excellent! My boyfriend and I split a whole and I could not finish my half. Took it home and will have lunch tomorrow while watching the Eagles game! Don't walk , run to get yours! Horrible shop. Terrible parking lot. Saw sandwich maker handling money with no changing gloves or washing hands. Called ahead for order and told I had a groupon. Girl said "no problem just show it to us when you get here." So I did then she said I can't use it!! I did exactly as instructions said and no where did it say I needed to by half's or wholes (I ordered a wrap). The groupon is probably the only way they could get anyone into their filthy poorly managed store. Terrible service, Dirty, and i lost my Groupon $ i paid but hopefully i will please for reimbursement and get it. Stopped by Lee's a few months ago and I must say that I throughly enjoyed my tuna hoagie. I ordered a half and couldn't finish it. I had to take home the rest. Just came by recently for another hoagie. This time I tried a Turkey hoagie with the oil, and it was absolutely delicious!!! The food is definitely consistent which certainly means a lot to me! The place is a staple in the community . The guys behind the counter were very attentive and went out of their way to ask me how everything was on my way out. Great Hoagie I was in Quakertown on business for a few days and everyday drove past Lee's. I am a fan of Hoagies so today I decided to give it a try, plus my customer said I would not regret it. I was very apprehensive after reading some of the reviews and the building. I had my doubts when I saw the 18" Double Steak on the menu and figured this had to be all bread and no meat, but I order it and figured I could push the meat to one half and cut out the other half of the bread. Man was I wrong. A ton of meat with great taste. I ended up giving half the Hoagie to someone in the hotel because there was no way I was going to eat it all and trust me I have no problem chowing down. Service was acceptable, not great, but let get real its a Hoagie shop, not a 5 diamond restaurant. I did ding one star as the place could use some work in the appearance. Lacking considerably both outside with the overgrown parking lot and the 60ish aged inside. Would not say it was a health code issue, but time to bring it into the 2000's. I would say if you like Hoagies and appearance is not a big thing, give it a try. I will drop back in next time I am in the area read more

I felt the urge to post a review after my husband brought home five cheesesteak sandwiches for dinner that did not have any cheese, minimal sauce and onions, and highly lacking in meat. If you are going to charge $9 for a cheesesteak sandwich, fill it, please. Is losing customers really worth skimping on the filling? You may lose a small profit for each sandwich/hoagie sale by adding more filling, but it will surely return to you in new and return customer sales. I am too disappointed to go back at this point. Wow so many bad reviews! I think this place is great. Probably the best hoagie you can get around the Lehigh Valley. I'm always searching for a great hoagie and this place has got it. Italian is the best one to get, classic hoagie taste. Good chewy bread(not like that crap at Subway) (Sidenote: whoever thinks Subway is a good hoagie should have their head checked) Thinly sliced meats and cheeses. that's the way. Not these massive honkin' chunks some places give you. It really does make a difference. Good oil and vinegar dressing. I reccommend this place! Just make sure you go to the one in Quakertown. The one in Emmaus/Allentown does not have good turnover and their bread gets stale. read more

If the hoagies here existed in a magical Wonderland bubble, this would be 5 star review. The sandwiches are pretty consistent with other Lees' that I've been to, which is good, since I love them. This shop just rubs me the wrong way. It's dirty. Like, cobwebs dirty. The whole place reminds me of an outdated service station. The service is inconsistent, at best. Plus, there's a woman who works there who openly complains about the orders placed. My wife always gets American cheese on her cheese steaks, and, on multiple occasions, the woman working the grill has said something along the lines of "I hate when people order American cheese on their cheese steaks...". Seriously? The procedure does not change at all, except you reach for one kind of cheese instead of the other! They get an added star because, quite frankly, they still make a heck of a sandwich. This was an experience that will never be repeated in my life. After we ordered the register was not cooperating properly. The hoagie maker came over to assist not removing his gloves and touched the register and pugs for the machine, still with his gloves on then went back to making sandwiches. Horrible service with employees that need anger management. Went there at 8pm on a Wednesday night to get a cheese steak only to have the tall goofy kid behind the counter punch the bread as he made my sandwich then flip out because the next customer wanted banana peppers on his hoagie he turned into the incredible hulk and almost yanked the door off of supply refrigerator. I really used to enjoy hoagies from Lee's until recently. I had placed a large takeout order and returned home only to discover that the person who made the hoagies left everyone very disappointed. When I gave the order in person, I spoke slowly and repeated everything twice. i was also informed that they were out of a couple of the cold cuts requested! A few of the hoagies I requested no cheese on some of the hoagies and when we unwrapped the sandwiches, there was cheese on them. Hoagies that were supposed to have oil and vinegar had none at all and were bone dry. There was also supposed to be a small container of hot peppers, but this was also missing. The person taking orders at the counter really needs to pay attention and write down exactly what the customer asks for, while the person making the hoagies should also pay attention and make sure the order is made correctly. Needless to say, after being let down like this, I don't think any of us will be returning to Lee's anytime soon. read more

I have been eating Lees Hoagies since I was very young at least for 30 years. I have always purchased an Italian cheltenham. Lees always WAS my favorite place to get the best hoagie in the world today I purchased a Italian cheltenham giant it cost me$18.02 it was the WORST hoagie I have ever had. First of all it had 4 pieces of each meat and cheese on 18 inches of roll and since when is Bologna an Italian meat or American ham Italian. I asked for oil And vinegar and instead of putting it on my roll the vinegar wages just put it over the lettuce there was no Italian seasoning on the hoagie. I purchased this at 2:15 pm I was order 75 and my cashier was Berlin according to my receipt. How dare you even call yourself Lees hoagies!!!!! Let me say this: While those negative reviewers are entitled to their opinion, restaurant inspection reports prove their "holier-than-thou" classifications of "worst restaurant I've ever been to" and "dirty and disgusting" are blatantly untrue. The building housing Lee's is an old building and old buildings tend to show their age. Health inspection reports do not indicate mold or absurd uncleanliness as alleged by these reviewers. Wish I could give this place 1/2 a star. Cheesesteaks are dry and overpriced. Food is overpriced in general especially for Quakertown. Last time I ordered food here I was picking up food for 4 of us and the person behind the counter gave us attitude when I asked for extra ketchup and straws!! WTF, you sell subs and fries! Is it too much to ask for extra ketchup! This place is a joke, especially with 3 Wawa's in the area where the food is better and a lot cheaper. Also 2 subways where you can get a $5 footlong versus Lee's $6.50 six inch which tastes terrible. I used to get take out from Lee's many years ago and always loved it. For what ever reason, probably all the new restaurants around, I stopped eating there. Recently my son & I got take out from there & was shocked how much smaller the sandwiches were. I would estimate they are 30% smaller than they used to be. So I ordered hoagies from Lee's in Quakertown over the phone. I picked up my order and drove home to Hatfield. Once home I opened my order to see it was two completely different sandwiches then what I had ordered. I then called and Jason "the manager" answered the phone. He told me that he switched our orders up with someone else and that they had just called too. He then gave me the options of coming back with the old hoagies and they would remake what I ordered. Or I had to bring back the hoagies and I could get a refund. I said I don't wanna have to make the extra trip would it be possible to just refund my card over the phone. He said that was against policy and they needed the old hoagies back to complete the refund. I then asked to speak to the owner so I could explain that this is the first time I've ever had an issue and I'm in there a few times a month. Jason said he was off and he would not contact him on his day off and that he would also say the same about there policy. I now have to wait until Wednesday and return with these hoagies to make a special trip to get my money back and express my frustration in the way this was handled with the owner. UPDATE: I Just got done talking to the owner. Apparently there is no one that works there named Jason and that the store policy is they will only replace the hoagies. First off, any place that calls itself a "hoagie house" should not be unwrapping the meat from saran wrap to make the sandwich. What happened to cutting the meat per order? And Provolone comes on every sandwich....what?? God, I wish I knew this before pulling into this hellhole. My roast beef and turkey sub (with provolone) was mostly lettuce and onions, both meats were bland and it had no taste of their oil/vinegar combo. I asked for salt, pepper and oregano - I didn't taste any of those either. The bread looks great - but isn't. I observed my friends "Italian" hoagie - what a catastrophe...unrecognizable meats. Definitelty no ham on it. Incredibly outdated inside, pictures on the wall are filthy and look like they belong hanging in a 1980s hair salon. The blue paint on the wall just stops at a point, like the painter just packed up and went home in mid-stroke. Tables were dirty and the salt and pepper shakers were grimy. The ceiling was water-stained and falling down, and looks like it has been for a long time. The whole place has a gas station bathroom feel to it. A-OK! I have eaten here many times. Those who have left harsh reviews don't get "it." Yes, the building is dumpy, definitely not a white table cloth establishment, but who cares. It is inspected and passed. It's really about the Hoagies and boy are they good! There is no match. Ok, you can get a sandwich from your favorite pizza join or even Wawa, but its just not the same. Not the flavor, texture or the satisfaction. As for the comments about the burgers . . . have you every seen what you get from any of the fast food places? Hmmmm. Furthermore, it's not "Lee;s Burger House" DUH! (I must say the cheese burger hoagie is wonderful and will shave years off your life.)
