This place is great for locals with few choices in the area, but if this was closer to restaurant competition it wouldn't last. Burger sizes for the prices charged are disproportionate. The prices are too high for what you get. My kids both got burgers and upgraded to sweet potato fries....$19. The fries upcharge is $3. The burgers are not worth $15 or $16. I personally ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. You have the nerve to charge $14 for 2 chicken tenders covered in buffalo sauce and put it on a hamburger bun. My wife ordered a grilled chicken wrap. The chicken was well cooked, juicy and tender, but the wrap was mostly filled with lettuce, tomato and onion to make it look full. The service was ok, one girl running the register and taking orders. She did the best she could, but took a while to reappear from the kitchen when people came in to place orders or pick up. They have a bell to call for someone, but you feel reluctant to hit because it feels disrespectful. They'd be better off having a bell system when someone walks in the door. Quoted 15 minutes for order, took 28 minutes. The seating area is limited but they didn't seem very busy so the area may be enough to accommodate when they are busy. Looked clean. But overall the cost for what you get is a turn off for this customer. Will not be returning. Also, this is another restaurant that charges to use a card, our fee was somewhere between $3-$4. Personally I believe it's the cost of doing business, owners should build that into their prices, but with how high their prices are here that probably wouldn't work. Parking lot is not large, but the interior has more seating than you would expect. Other items they have include Vegetarian/Vegan options, Wraps, Salads, Various Sandwiches, and Hot Dogs. I ordered the Gyro Burger which came with Fries. The soda fountain has yet to be hooked up, but they have bottled Coke and Pepsi products. The burger and fries were simply excellent. Burger was stacked high with the patty, gyro meat, and tzatziki sauce, along with the usual toppings. They nailed the tzatziki sauce which was a good sign immediately. Fries were hot and crispy. The kids wanted burgers for lunch and since I was visiting in town I turned to Yelp to help me find a great place to take them. The Burger Shake came up as recommended and we were super glad that it did. We were promptly greeted when we walked in with a huge smile. The menu is up on the wall so we took a few minutes to decide what we wanted. My one daughter and I both went for the gyro burger with the tzatziki sauce and the other went for the chicken fingers. All came with a generous portion of fries as well. They had a new menu item - cheesesteak eggrolls. We added those onto our order as well to try since I was between a cheesesteak and a burger (but how can you not order a burger when you are in a burger shack) so it was a win-win for me. The eggrolls were larger and delicious. It had a lot of flavor in the rolls and we really enjoyed them. The set up in side is simple, but clean and plenty of seating options. We ordered 3 burgers at 5:55pm and our food didn't come out until 6:55. After about 40 minutes we went to ask about when our food would be ready and the cashier said 5 more minutes. 10 minutes later we showed the cashier our receipts and he rudely said that they're making them now with no explanation as to why it's been 50 minutes and we still don't have our food. Great service and a solid burger. I tried their Cabana burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, and ketchup. The patty for the Cabana burger was stuffed with jalapeño and pepper jack cheese which definitely gave it a little something extra compared to your typical burger. I wish they had a chipotle aioli or something similar cause I think that would have really complimented the burger and made it really stand out. Mt eldest grandson ordered a build your own burger with bacon and Swiss. The bacon was on the inside of the juicy burger. The middle grandson had "The Shabby." It had bbq sauce, mushrooms, onions, tomato, and lettuce. He thought it was very good. Kat had a cheeseburger with mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and caramelized onions. She said, 'It was really good.' I had a salad with fresh, moist, grilled chicken and mozzarella cheese topped with pesto and sun dried tomatoes. We were all glad we drove 25 minutes to get there. It amazes me to no end that a little tiny burger joint set in a residential area can generate so much teeth grinding and obvious fake reviews that this listing has almost as many non-recommended reviews as it has legit ones. Lets keep it really simple. The customer service at The Burger Shack is top notch. That is fact. It is rare to not have one of the two owners in some form either take your order, personally deliver the food to the table, come around to check on you to make sure that everything is good and then thank you on your way out. There is far more going on here than just regular beef burgers. You've got everything from standard beef burgers stuffed with things like bacon, mushrooms, onions to veggie to pulled pork to gyro meat to falafel to chicken, turkey, cod and salmon. Forget Arby's slogan with We Have the Meats because TBS has you covered from every possible angle. On top of this they also solicit suggestions from their customers for their Burger of the Month program so you never know what will be next. Aside of that part of the menu they also now have two coolers with various soft drinks and grab go containers of their homemade Hummus and jambalaya. Just to be fair, if there is one thing on the menu I don't recommend it would be the hot dog section as I can't imagine four dollars or more for just one dog. Look, TBS is not fancy by any means but what it is, is simple-honest-mostly home made food that is served by owners who really care about their customers. read more
