She was late to every single meeting we had scheduled, at some point she was over 25 minutes late that finally I said we can only email from here on out since she'd wasted so much of my time at that point. Her complete lack of punctuality and respect for other people's time showed me she would only cause more stress on a wedding day and most likely be late. She also wouldn't respond for days or weeks on end. I understand that things come up in life, but as a business you should have a back up or someone else who is at least doing correspondence while you may not be able to. Especially when you are expecting someone to pay you over 1k for hair and makeup services, you expect at least some level of professionalism, but not Anna! She also didn't have a contract and I had to continually insist on getting a contract, then when it was received it was extremely lacking and she didn't know how to edit it, queue another long waiting period to hear back... I needed to have my hair styled for my daughter's wedding, being held in the area on a Sunday. I…read morecould not find anyone in the Scott's Valley/Felton area that was open on Sunday, so I scheduled with Mara on Saturday afternoon. I explained my predicament of having to get my hair styled a day prior to the wedding and expressed how important it was that the curls held out overnight. We discussed a product to be used; one that had kept my hair impressively curled throughout a day of heavy rainfall (at my son's wedding), and I shared a photo of how it looked. Mara didn't carry that particular product, so I provided it myself. I shared with her what the stylist had told me in regard to how she used the product on that day with such great success. Although I had an enjoyable visit with Mara (she made me feel comfortable and relaxed, and offered me some lovely tea to help me de-stress...), this review is strictly about how my hair turned out... Two weeks earlier, I had my hair curled for a friend's wedding and was charged only $35. Mara charged me $75 for the same service. She was hesitant to use a lot of the product on my hair, for fear that it would "weigh the curls down"... and the curls were not full enough. Two hours later...(rehearsal and dinner following), my hair was mostly flat from the foggy conditions, with just barely a wave to it. Needless to say, on the day of the wedding, my hair looked like it does every day; stringy and flat. I did not have time to use a curling iron prior to the wedding. I will say that this was an unusual situation with unusual circumstances, but Mara never lead me to believe that it wouldn't be possible to preserve some curl overnight, and, especially with the previous experience I had where, despite heavy exposure to wet conditions, my hair remained full and curled, (even overnight!), I was hopeful.... It was a lot of $$ to spend, and come away as if I hadn't styled my hair at all.

Bonnie Rocks!! Friendly, funny, and super skilked...hooray!!…read more Ok, I have naturally curly, ie; FRIZZ-bomb hair. Just got the Keratin Smoothing Treatment, care of Bonnie the Great!!! My hair has never looked better; this is huge, considering I am 48 years old (and have had dud keratin treatments elsewhere)! Thanks to her, my hair is, for the first time now, soft and silky smooth, shiny with NO product, and still retaining enough of my curl to look very natural. Over the years I have been to other places and spent thousands of dollars trying to get my hair just right, and I finally did, here. I have only had the cut and treatment for three days and already I have gotten multiple compliments on how great my hair looks...from total strangers! This is my new hair styling home. I will also be coming in for the keratin smoothing treatments regularly. So glad I tried it! Only regret? I wish I would have known Bonnie 20 years ago. MUAH Green Room!
