We had been bringing our dog to this vet for several months with concerns about his declining health. Despite multiple visits, the cancer was not diagnosed until it was too late. On the day he was finally diagnosed, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to put him down immediately. No advanced diagnostics or referrals were offered until his condition rapidly worsened. When the cancer was finally discovered, we were devastated to learn there was nothing more that could be done. What made the situation even more difficult was that we were not allowed to take our beloved dog home after he passed. We were told cremation was the only option -- no room for discussion. It felt cold and impersonal, especially after such an emotional moment. Losing our dog this way suddenly and with so little compassion or flexibility has left us heartbroken. We trusted Dr. Cox with his care and we feel deeply let down.

We're first-time dog owners--this is our kids' very first pet--and if you're new to pet parenthood, you know how many questions come with that. From the beginning, the staff (including the doctor) has never made us feel silly, rushed, or uninformed. We've asked everything: grooming questions (are we missing knots? undercoat issues?), hygiene questions (yes... even anal gland questions), medication questions, and general "are we doing this right?" reassurance. Every time, they've taken the time to explain things clearly and kindly. We've had our Maltipoo, Oreo, for about four years now, and Bayshore has walked with us through: * Routine yearly checkups * Flea and heartworm prevention (Bravecto, ProHeart, etc.) * A period where Oreo was leaking urine and needed medication * Figuring out how to actually get meds into a very picky dog (she hates peanut butter and big treats--fun times) * Syringe meds when she was sick * Her spay surgery, including thoughtful conversations beforehand about timing, pros/cons, and what to expect after One moment that truly sealed it for me happened early on. Oreo became lethargic, then developed foamy diarrhea. As a new pet parent, I didn't know what qualified as "urgent," and I was second-guessing myself. I emailed the office over the weekend, assuming I wouldn't hear back until Monday. Instead, I received a reply early that weekend morning--from the doctor himself. He gave us clear guidance on what to do, what warning signs to watch for, and set us up for an appointment. That peace of mind was invaluable. They have two locations, and while one day a week is reserved for surgeries only, we've had smooth experiences at both locations when needed. If you're looking for a veterinary practice that treats your pet like a patient and treats you like a valued, capable (even if slightly nervous) pet parent, this is it. We've never felt dismissed, rushed, or like "just another appointment." I'm grateful every time we walk through their doors--and Oreo is too, judging by how much attention and love she gets from the staff.

Unfortunately our Australian Blue Heeler, Pancho, passed away at 3am today from a cardiac condition that could not be fixed nor cured. I really want to thank them all for the kindness shown to myself, my wife and our pup.

Unfortunately, one issue has always concerned us: there is virtually no continuity of care. Nearly every visit has been with a different veterinarian, making it difficult to build a relationship or feel like anyone truly knows our pet's history. The experience that prompted this review happened today. We had what we believed was an emergency and rushed our pet to the clinic, only to be told that all of the doctors were at lunch and no one could see her. We were simply told, "You can try bringing her back tomorrow." What disappointed us most wasn't just that no veterinarian was available, it was the complete lack of empathy or urgency. No one offered to have a technician or assistant take a quick look, assess the situation, or provide any reassurance or guidance. We were left feeling like our pet's well-being wasn't important. After being loyal clients for years and always paying our bills, we expected a little more compassion during a stressful situation. Sadly, this experience has caused us to question whether we'll continue bringing our pets here.
