Dr Burrell was very kind when she came over today. It is a heart breaking, painful decision to let your beloved family member go. Many years ago I met a wonderful veterinarian named Dr. Gayle Burrell. This is the most compassionate, caring and kind veterinarian. I have gotten to know her on a personal level and it has a great amount to do with just how great she is with all animals. In January I needed the good doctors services. Dr. Burrell came to my house, and walked me through each step, explaining what she would be doing and also what to expect. She sat with me until the end and the experience was so much better than anything I had ever been through in the past. It was peaceful and serene. No stress. My girl got to move on peacefully without additional stress or pain. Please do not let the one negative review dissuade you from seeking the services of this humanitarian when you fur baby needs you the most. She is committed to animals but she also has a family and needs time with them. Could you do this job and never take a break or time off? Thank you Dr. Burrell. If you're reading this then you are probably in the same difficult situation my wife and I were in the last couple of weeks. Our cat, Homer, had a large tumor where his hind leg met his body and cancer. Due to the size, type, and place of the tumor operation and radioactivity would be very expensive and ineffective. And unfortunately due to the nature of tumors it's almost impossible to tell when they will grow, how fast, and how big. This was the news we received about two months ago. Homer was good for about a month and a half afterwards though we did notice the tumor growing and his appetite steadily decreasing. Things started getting really bad when Homer began spending 90% of his days and nights hiding under the bed, coming out once in a while to eat some food. My wife and I made the decision that it was time to release Homer's energy back into the universe. We were pleased to learn that our vet would come and perform the euthanizing at the comfort of our home so that we wouldn't have to put our weak companion through the stress and trauma of getting in his cage and going to the vet. Unfortunately, they did want him to come in for a final exam... Ok, so this could go one of two ways. You tell us he's ready and we put him through all that stress for nothing, or you tell us he's not (we knew 100% that he was) and then we feel terrible that we thought it was time?!? Lose-Lose. Enter Gentle Pet Passings and Dr. Gayle Burrell. I looked through her website and gave her a call. She was sweet and understanding from the beginning. She came to our house as soon as she could the next morning. She actually looked at her schedule and told us she could be there later this afternoon, but we wanted one more night with our sweet boy. When she arrived at our house she was prepared, friendly, and consoling. The paperwork was already filled out, just had to look everything over, choose an option for his ashes and sign. She sedated Homer inside as she fed him treats (the most we'd seen him eat in months! Some sort of magic treats!) As Homer became sleepy we placed him in my wife's arms and went outside to Homer's favorite spot. Dr. Burrell made us a plaster footprint in a shadow box to remember Homer and she administered the final dose and left us alone for some last moments with our friend. She wrapped him in a blanket and put him in a blanket to be taken away. The whole experience was peaceful and as nice as something like this could have been, especially after the stress we received from our local vet. The rest of the day my wife and I celebrated his life and shared our favorite "Homie Stories". Long story short, Gentle Pet Passings and Dr. Burrell are accommodating, friendly, consoling, and kind. She is exactly who you want to be there at the time of a pet's passing. read more

On August 2, 2018 I held my baby of EIGHTEEN years in my arms as she took her last breath. Winnie Dicks was the dog of The Chief Of Police. A United States Service Dog. She was a star back home and the love of my life. She had the ability to tell when to pull over or lay down she had a gift and was a TRUE service dog. May I tell you with out THIS BEAUTIFUL KIND DOCTOR, I would of been so lost, I may of had a heart attack with out her. I will remember her for the rest of my life. She made my dog comfortable and took her to rainbow bridge with me. It's now December and I have cried every single day. Although I am in heart & lung failure, I am still alive because I have my husband. The day I lost my 18 yo Yorkie-Poo, I lost myself for a while. I have found myself again and I understand that life MUST GO ON. I miss Winnie SOOO MUCH, there are NO WORDS. I am looking for a new dog now and I would like a Yorkie because having a little dog will be easier on me. A Tea cup Yorkie. We have also been to the Humane Society and I was in heaven to be surrounded by animals and animal lovers that have SO MUCH LOVE AND COMPASSION. Life is so beautiful and it goes by so fast. If you need THE BEST Veterinarian to help you when the day comes for your beloved pet/baby to go to rainbow bridge where in my mind GOD is waiting and I KNOW Winnie ran back in to the arms of her Heavenly Father, call THIS DOCTOR. She is the best in VOUSLIA county and to me the best in the whole wide world. Trust me. If someone is reading this review and knows of anyone that has a puppy, I have a degree in Yorkies. I also have great knowledge of all breeds because I love ALL DOGS. It will be easier on me to have a little tiny dog because I like to carry my dog around and take her/him with me everywhere I go. My new dog will also be a service dog. I am disabled now so I really need a new puppy to help me THRIVE. I have been in the deepest and darkest depression I have ever experienced in my life. Losing a pet is VERY SERIOUS. I have read many articles about mourning your dog and some say it may be harder than losing a human. I had to relearn how to live. I got my dog Winnie when I was 26 years old and she took her last breath in my arms at age 45. THATS A LONG TIME. My whole life and world revolves around Winnie my dog. I did ask God for my husband before I lost Winnie and God Gabe me the BEST husband, a United States Navy Veteran and Former law enforcement. I am a RN, disabled but I went to the top, Critical care, trauma. I fully understand that I am the type of person THAT NEEDS A DOG to THRIVE. I just do. Just remember me now, if you see any golden retriever puppies, German Shepherd puppies, or YORKIE puppies ....please please in Gods beautiful Name....contact my husband and I. We had to put down our senior boxer. She made a sad experience much more bearable. She was kind, professional, and down to earth. We appreciated her caring approach and the amount of time she took with our dog and family. She never acted like she was in a hurry, taking the time needed for us to say goodbye and grieve our loss. Our much loved cat had organ failure and needed to be put down during a vet appointment. We were able to take home their body so we needed to get them cremated we contacted Gentle Pet Passings they were so kind and gentle answered our questions her kind heart eased our pain and she recommended a place where we could get a private cremation with a chance to formally say our goodbyes.
