The place was pretty empty which was fine with me as there were plenty of seats at the large bar and a bartender just waiting to take our order. She said the kitchen was closing soon (it was around 8pm) so I ordered a club sandwich and my friend had the ribs. The food came up quickly and was very good. And those drinks? Perfectly poured and served in reusable plastic cups that some enterprising realtor had thoughtfully put her name on! We saved a couple of ours as they work well in the boat and other outside events. They also have a pool table for those of you who like that sort of thing and plenty of parking. I'm not deducting any stars for this but my only wish would be that they had some way to adjust the air conditioning temperature. It was FREEZING inside and the manager said there was no way to adjust it. I really doubted that but we had to sit in a range of seats before finding one that the air wasn't full on blowing at you! It was dark when we left so navigating those dark WI roads was all part of our evening's adventure! Worth a stop in if you can find it!

We were VERY hungry at this point as we refused to eat McDonalds - the only thing we saw consistently popping up for 30 miles from the MKE airport. We didn't have much time, and was very thankful to find this gem tucked inside Old Wisconsin. The girl in front was very nice and the order came in quickly. The sausages were fine, but nothing I felt that represented what we were looking for. The saurkraut is a bit suspiciously not home made as we expected. The soup was good also. We first opted to sit outside since it was nice and breezy but then the bees started coming so off we went back inside. Honestly, I think we came in with higher expectations. We were not looking for ShangRiLa but all in all, we were happy with our meals and its not something to write home about, yet nothing to snub as well.

I went again tonight though, arriving at 7:30pm after hiking 15 miles on the Ice Age Trail, plus an extra one to get to the bar. It was empty with a female bartender. I made a joke as I sat down which she didn't even attempt to laugh at. This was a sign. After one drink she told me that she needs to close. She did allow me to chug a second drink while shutting off the lights. I understand they weren't busy but your listed hours are open til 10 and it's not even 8:00. Plus I just told you I walked all the way here. Definitely can understand why this place is empty on Mondays. I'll call ahead to make sure Don is working next time

He said they were both delicious. The 4 others in our group ordered burgers and an assortment of apps. The space in the dining room is basic as many bars of this kind are. The bar area was really cool and they have some arcade games for the kids by the bar.
