Our doggy sitter of 10 years moved out of town and we were a little nervous about our upcoming 10 day trip (much of which, we were off the grid). Our pet sitter, Ron, was so awesome. He wrote us emails every day and it is amazing how quickly he captured their very different personalities. He gave them lots of love and walks. He talked to them as well (this was captured on video. And, he took such good care of the house. We plan on using Atlanta Pet Au Pair when we go out of town for another 10 day trip in just a couple of months.

I just had to write this review following my last pet sitting experience. One of the hardest things…read moreabout relocating is finding the right care for your pets if you have to travel. I've been using them on and off for over two years for daytime walks for my 2 dogs and feeding and care for my two cats when we are away but decided to go for the in home pet sitting for 7 nights instead of boarding my dogs. It was a great experience. Ron is so caring. He sent a very detailed text each evening with pics of my dogs relaxing with him. He brought in all the mail, washed up the dishes from the cat food and left my apt spotless --even vacuumed! It was a stress free vacation knowing he was staying overnight with the dogs and stopping in once during the day. It was about the same cost as boarding two dogs and having a pet sitter come in to take care of the cats. I highly recommend these guys. They've been in business a long time.

(Dictated by Zelda, a high-energy husky shepherd mix)…read more I love Wag-A-Lot! Before I went to doggie daycare, my parent's would keep me in a crate during the day while they went to work. I hated the crate. They tried everything to help me get used to it but I just couldn't. I'd bark the day away and drool all over the place out of stress. If they left me out of my crate while they went away, I'd get really scared and chew up their things or go to the bathroom on the floor. I didn't want to be bad but I just hated being alone. Now my parents take me to Wag-a-Lot! I get to play with my friends all day long and I never have to be in a stinky old crate. Even though I'm a big girl, I get to play with the little dogs because the staff really paid attention to my personality and saw I was playing more in that yard than with dogs my own size. I appreciate them looking out for me! My parents say they can see me playing on the live camera feed online. That sounds cool. Maybe that's what they do all day while I'm playing. Sometimes mommy picks me up a bone or treat from their great little shop as we're leaving and that makes me happy. I get to stick my head out of the window on the way home and smell all of the lovely Reynoldstown air as we cruise down Memorial. Yay for Wag-A-Lot!

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Wag-A-Lot Downtown. I received a phone call…read moretoday informing me that my dog has apparently had ongoing issues with rough play with other dogs -- something I was never told before. The only communication I ever received was that he had been moved up to the large yard, and it was presented as a positive/congratulatory thing, not as a behavioral concern. During the call, I was also told that my dog is often kept in the den for much of the day and mainly gets time out with staff members because he seems stressed in the den. As a pet owner, it was upsetting to learn this had apparently been happening for some time without my knowledge or consent. I completely understand that not every daycare environment is the right fit for every dog, and I appreciate them trying to manage situations safely. My issue is the lack of transparency and communication. If my dog was struggling socially or spending significant time separated from group play, I should have been informed immediately and consistently. Because of this experience, I'll be looking for another daycare that communicates more openly with pet parents.

This is a long overdue review. I just happened to be scrolling for a specific text and pulled up…read moreold text exchanges with Karen from my days in Atlanta. And realized I owe this fantastic person a review. A very long story short, in 2015 I found myself in temporary housing after a move back to Atlanta to start a new job. It was a very difficult situation with two rescue dogs that suffered from anxiety/separation issues. The day prior my daytime pet arrangements had fallen through. I also had work travel imminent. I was in a panic and massively stressed. The same day I called Karen, she showed up to meet me and the two pups. They took to her immediately, even my ultra scared/shy guy who shivered and shook around people. She confidentially handled them, kindly calmed my anxiety over the situation and had it under control. She could double as a therapist!!! The next day while I was at work all went totally fine with their walk. I even received text photos with details of how it went. The pups were happy, I was relieved of stress and life suddenly became simpler. For simplicity sake I've glossed over a very trying and rough time in life. But for Karen and her team it would not have turned out so well. With a world of gratitude and thanks, I HIGHLY recommend.

We were…read moregrateful to have a convenient location right around the corner from my work and the prices seemed fair. My first impression of the place was walking in a being met with an overwhelming smell. We've been to other daycares and know this is not how it should smell. But, we figured our dog sniffs others' butts so maybe smell doesn't really bother her. Second impression was that the staff kinda seemed half-baked half the time but we figured hey, dog people aren't always people-people. We get it. They just seemed like minimal effort kind of people (we literally got a free stay one time because they had already shut the computer off before we picked her up and they didn't feel like turning it back on...we weren't even late). We never got any bad notes about our dog when we picked her up but we started noticing some things that caused a lot of concern and ultimately led us to pull her out. The first was one time when we came to pick her up, we could see her through the window of a small room that shared a wall with the entrance corridor. She was sitting by herself on the concrete floor, up against the glass just waiting for us to get her. There were a few other little dogs in the room (ours is about 45lbs) but there were no humans, no bedding, no toys, and there was mess everywhere. She was just sitting there looking bored to tears. Not ok. The second was another time we came to pick her up and brought her home. We kept smelling a weird smell and when we inspected her when we got home, we found she had dried urine *caked* on her elbow. There is absolutely no telling how long it had been there and no one bothered to clean her?? How dirty is your facility that there are just puddles lying around not being cleaned that our dog laid in? We brought it to their attention the next time we took her in and told them we did not want to see that again. We asked if they knew what happened, but they said they had no clue where it came from. We understand mess happens, it's a place full of animals. But it was very visible on her white arm. The least they could have done was clean it off for her/us. But they didn't even notice? Again, not ok! The final straw came when we picked her up a few times later and saw a puncture wound on her side when we got home. It had been bleeding and didn't look like anything was done to clean it (which is concerning given how dirty this place apparently is). Not to mention, NO ONE reached out to us that there had been an incident or said ANYTHING to us when we picked her up. Why? Because they had NO IDEA it had even happened!! This time we called them directly about it and asked what happened and they said they were completely unaware of a situation. Um, wtf?? So our dog gets punctured and you can't tell us the story? Like I said, half-baked! SO NOT OK!!! We never sent her back after that! We gave them a thousand chances despite our reservations and they just kept proving us right that we should have been hesitant from the start with that bad smell. TLDR: This place is filthy and they do not keep up with your dog. We recommend literally anywhere else! There are plenty of others to choose from in town.
