Sadly Frogs to Dogs has been bought out by a private equity firm and will merge into a new company called Digs Dog Care. While I am comfortable for the moment with the individual trainers, I fully expect the quality of care to rapidly decline with PE involved. They already plan to remove a lot of the website transparency, such as the names and profiles of trainers "because they don't want to have to update their website often," which of course indicates major turnover and instability. I have spoken with multiple former F2D employees who no longer are with the company and it is very sad. read more

We had a rescue puppy foster dog who did not "cut it" in daycare and needed extra coaching and training to handle himself appropriately in a group of dogs. The Frogs to Dogs team did exactly that for him. He made steady progress and when it came time for him to be adopted, they actually did a cat test with him. Let's say he "didn't fail" so they did some video and gave some coaching for his potential adopters. He is now living happily in a home with both another dog and a cat. Their staff is kind and loving with my dog and he wags his tail and licks their faces when he greets them upon arrival. My dog is a changed dog! He used to growl and fight with new strange dogs and now he can be in a play group with lots of dogs, most of them new to him on different days and he doesn't fight or react. As long as you understand miracles take time, work, and patience, these folks are MIRACLE WORKERS! I found them after my foster fail failed at a doggy day care for his misbehavior. I explained his behavior (biting) to the folks at Frogs and asked if they took on difficult dogs. They replied enthusiastically, "That's what we do!" And IT IS WHAT THEY DO!! I wasn't sure if I was the right home for Miles, but they have really helped me understand how to be his person. Frogs to Dog taught my boy manners. After over a year in the shelter, he was a little low on social graces. Now he waits to eat, pulls less on walks (though not none), can focus on me when other dogs walk by, and gets in the car better. They have helped me understand how to bring guests into my home without freaking out the big boi. They have also socialized him with other dogs-- and discovered that he is a real ladies' man! I love watching the videos of him playing with all his girlfriends in the social time. You have to watch the videos and take them up on their offer to drop-in for short trainings during the day. We also had a couple of one-on-one sessions with Caren and Jennifer and we went to a few of Caren's Saturday morning reactive dog classes. Now that we both have more confidence, I'm planning to sign up for group classes--more for me than for him-- to understand how to introduce him to other dogs and people. Dogs are an investment of time, but the cuddles are so worth it. Frogs to Dog's team have been so helpful with our two semi-reactive rescue pups. They have both become so much better behaved and this progress is thanks to Frogs to Dogs. They send videos of their training so you can reinforce the work and learn to be consistent. We have referred several of our friends and neighbors too, and we have all had very positive experiences. Some of the negative reviews I just read about this place is truly puzzling to me. If you have a reactive dog like I do, then Frogs to Dogs is one of the best places to take your dog for training/socialization. I adopted my first dog last year (pandemic pup) and while I had family dogs before, this was my first time taking care of a dog myself. A few weeks after I adopted my dog, I noticed that he was pretty leash reactive towards....pretty much.. everything... Haha. Since I live in an apartment complex, it was pretty stressful taking my dog outside for walks when he would bark and lunge at literally everything outside. I tried independent trainers for my dog's leash reactivity and one suggested for me to take my dog to Frogs to Dogs to safely socialize with other dogs. I figured that I didn't really have much to lose, so I decided to take him to their Day Camps where he would get one-on-one personal training with the trainers while I was at school. I took my dog to the Day Camps pretty consistently for about 6 months and there has been such an improvement! He's still gets a little barky if someone startles him when we are outside, but I know how to handle him better by redirecting his attention so it's easier taking him out. I like how they send videos of what they work on with your dog that day. They also have "report cards" (which sometimes are pretty generic) that suggest how you can train your dog at home. I also tried their boarding services and they are great! I board with Kyle and he's great at communicating and my dog seems to have a great time with them. Overall, I have no complaints about Frogs to Dogs and I highly recommend that you check them out if you have a leash reactive dog! read more

I've been with Frogs to Dogs since the beginning of March 2024. I'm raising my first puppy, a German Shepherd, who has progressed leaps and bounds through our training together with this team. We attend their DayCamp training, have done their Puppy 101 class in addition to their Unlimited Group Obedience classes (an absolutely crazy deal) which is tiered to beginner, intermediate, and advanced. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Lena who has gone above and beyond to answer all of my emails and calls with kindness and a ton of patience! The trainers and staff (Bonita, Mary, Zsolt and many others!!!) really do make you feel comfortable and always offer supplement help and advice when needed. It's important to remember training is just as important for us as our dogs and this group does an excellent job tailoring to our people needs as well. During our first DayCamp, I was experiencing a lot of anxiety and before I could even give them a call. I received a mid-day check in text regarding my dog! After pick up and by the end of the day, I received 4 videos of her interacting and training with the dogs. My dog had an amazing time and can't wait to go back! Out of all the dog camps and trainers I looked at, I went with Frogs to Dogs because of the community feel I wanted my puppy and I to be involved in. F2D has great reviews, and was recommended by a friend, and I was shocked by my experience - which was horrific and traumatizing. I have a 4 month old puppy, who has never done boarding/dog sitting for more than 1 night. We went on vacation for 5 nights/6 days, and when we dropped her off, I was told that our trainer Jennifer would reach out throughout the week to check in. I was given a phone number to reach out to if I had questions, as did the trainer mine. We had been gone 2 days and I had not heard anything, so I sent a text to check in, this text was ignored. I reached out again 2 days later, and still no response at all. Then I got a text from a different number on the last night of boarding - no contact for 5 days from F2D! This message basically said, 'Sorry, you've been reaching out to my work phone, and I haven't been checking it'. We picked our puppy up and were concerned yet again because the bag of food that I left for her - which was measured to be just slightly more than she should need for the week - was half full. My puppy is super hungry and growing fast, shes a german shepherd. The bag that should have been mostly gone, was about half full. I voiced my concern once I weighed her and found that this 4 month old puppy who is gaining weight like its her job, actually lost 5 pounds in 6 days. Management at F2D then reached out and explained that they actually had been underfeeding her and misunderstood the feeding instructions which were, "0.5 cups of food, 3 times a day". After all of this, my puppy got super sick, vomiting all night and severe diarrhea, which amounted to another $350 in vet bills just one day after we picked her up. Management did give me a full refund and free group training, but I will never recommend this place to anyone for any boarding services again. We are traumatized and will likely never board our dog anywhere again. read more

From the first conversation, and every conversation since, it is very evident that folks at F2D take pride in conveying support, calmness, and confidence when speaking with new customers. Lena has been an absolute joy to work with throughout this process. I have had a handful of conversations with her and she has been extremely helpful at every step. She seems very eager to help and it comes through during each interaction. I've been using Frogs to Dogs for over a year and love them! I would highly recommend Frogs to anyone for training, day camp, & boarding. I have a highly anxious German Shepherd and she's always done great in their care. I've used Kyle and Elijah for boarding and they've both been fantastic. My dog always comes home happy and healthy. Having a German shepherd, I'm more cautious of who I board her with since she needs to be with someone who really knows what they're doing and has the space for her. Everyone at Frogs is great and extremely knowledgeable. I first boarded with Kyle and exclusively used him as long as he was available until he moved. Kyle always did a great job with my pup. When he first started watching her, I told him she's had issues with other dogs before and has a lot of anxiety. He did a great job figuring her out and how to ensure she had the best, most comfortable time at his place. He told me he worked to figure out which dogs she would do best hanging out with and found that my pup did best with lower energy dogs. I was incredibly happy to hear that he invested the time to learn her personality and was able to pair her with dogs she could safely have fun hanging out with! It was always very clear he really cares about the dogs in his care. He's also incredibly kind and patient with the owners. I had a lot going on in the past year and had to board my pup with him a lot. I really don't know what I would have done without Kyle! He was always very flexible with my schedule and happy to watch my pup. Since Kyle moved, I have used Elijah a lot for boarding and he has also been amazing. My pup always seems so happy when she comes home and she's incredibly relaxed. Transitioning her back home after boarding her with Elijah is a breeze. She actually seems more responsive to me when she gets back from boarding with him. Elijah has extensive experience with GSDs, which was a really important point for me when deciding to board with him. I'm so thankful for the great care he provides my dog and his kindness towards me. In addition, I recently had an issue with my pup with her stress response to my recent move. I called Elijah due to his background with GSDs and since he's familiar with her. He happily talked to me for almost and hour and he provided me a lot of incredibly helpful tips to help her adjust. I was really impressed with his knowledge and incredibly thankful he was so willing to help me! A number of concerns here. The website mentions only positive training, but after my boy did an eval I received a report card saying they were "balanced trainers." I find this deceptive. I spoke to a staff member about my concerns, and she revealed that every trainer on staff is balanced and a majority of them have a background in protection training and K-9 training which she says, "may not be considered as positive." I hope that even people who are down with balanced training can realize that consumers should have a chance to understand what product/service they are buying and not think they are getting one thing when they are really getting another. I was hoping to send my pup to handlers with the same philosophy about dogs that I have! Additionally, there's just a lack of organization/communication. The trainers had no idea of my training goals that were discussed with front desk staff. They didn't check to see if they had my pups vaccine records: I had to ask and then they checked and revealed they hadn't come in. I wonder how many pups there may be unvaccinated and they have no idea? They got their wires crossed about my pups medication -- since it was my first day, and he has separation anxiety, I gave them three gabapentin in a labeled prescribed jar with instructions on use for him, and informed front desk staff that if he was having a hard time and they had to crate him up and he was losing it in the crate, to feel free to administer his medication so he wouldn't tear up their walls / crates until I got there to pick him up. My surprise when I saw a voicemail mid day asking me if they should give his medication and when/why? I called them and explained again that it was for as-needed only if he was having a hard time. I then clarified, had he already been given the medication? I was told no, they were waiting to speak with me. I wasn't going to be angry with them if they had given it, just wanted a chance to remind them that this is an extreme sedative and so his mobility and response and coordination would go down hill. My boy is a senior rescue with a lot of medical issues and his back legs give out on the best of days, so on gabapentin he tends to be a bit wobbly. But she told me he hadn't been given the medication. Two days later, I was unpacking his day bag and realized the pill bottle was empty. The three pills I sent were missing. So either they gave that medication after all or... ? Stole... it? When I had picked him up I noticed his back end was wobbly, but I was chalking it up to a day full of excitement and exercise. Thank goodness I had no reason to go out that night and administer another dose of medication. I'm afraid that discovering this about his experience was the final straw for me. A difference about training philosophies is just not a good fit so I could over look that. The advertising one thing and then doing another thing could be chalked up to the guy running the website doesn't know everything about the procedures internally, simply communication error so I could try to overlook that. But... give me misinformation about the heavy sedative medication my pup has been given? How can you trust them about ANYTHING? Frogs to Dogs: Honesty is the best policy. Please update your website to state that you are all balanced trainers, and remove the quote from your owner implying otherwise to allow your clients to opt-in to your training philosophy as they wish. And hire a general manager that can help you with organization / work flow maybe. read more

Was looking for a last-minute pet sitter and most places were booked up, however this company was able to accommodate us. They had a good process to put us in touch with the pet sitter and speak with them over the phone. We were also able to meet with them in person to show them the home and get a feel for who will be taking care of our pets while we were gone. Overall, they did a great job. Came by the house as scheduled and would send pictures of our pets. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a pet sitter. read more

I dropped Mochi off today for the day camp they offer. I thought at $50, it's worth trying. When I called about the day camp, I was told that I could choose whatever I wanted them to focus on. Once I got there, they recommended to reinforce the basic commands before anything else. Also, they only had a set list of "focus areas" to choose from so not actually whatever I want. So I figured, they know best so basic commands it is. I kept checking videos throughout the day and there was a bunch of him walking on a leash. The walker definitely struggled with him more than I did at home. I also got no videos of the basic commands they said they would focus on. I also saw the walker kept giving Mochi spray can cheese and A LOT of it. Not happy because they specifically asked me to bring my own treats so he wouldn't get an upset stomach. Guess what? He has an upset stomach now. When I flagged this, they told me I should have specified to not give him anything I didn't bring for him. When I got there, I asked to pick up Mochi by name. They then asked "oh is he the hot dog?". I said "no the frenchie". They said "the white one?". They then proceeded to hand me my dog with no information on how his first day went. Any one else concerned that I never got asked for an ID? Well I was, given there was just recently a reported theft of a frenchie down my street. Outside of poor communication, I will never bring my dog here for fear of poor security. read more

I sent my dog to daycare/training after lots of recommendations from other dog owners and was really excited but was left a little confused/disappointed. The staff were very kind and professional but overall the experience was a little disorganized and communication wasn't the best. Based on other great reviews I would still take my dog back here and give it another shot if we lived closer (downtown Decatur traffic was awful and they only do the daycare/training combos during the work week). First off, I took a lot of time to put together my dog's profile with detailed history, training needs, and any other important notes. Overall she's a very healthy dog and just needed some leash training and a temperament test since I've only had her for about 4 months and wanted to see if she was a good fit for daycare and potentially dog parks. When I got to the Decatur location the intake receptionist was very kind, professional, helpful despite hearing lots of dogs barking and a bit of morning chaos with people starting to line up. Just a helpful tip that the reception area is extremely small so I would definitely keep your dog close to you/calm if you're dropping them off during a busy time. Otherwise you would wait outside spaced from other clients and their dogs. When I came to pick her up I asked how my dog did and how her temperament test went and the staff member who trained my dog hesitated and said that she was not allowed to socialize today due to 'stiff body language' exhibited around other dogs. She also didn't realize that I had taken her primarily for leash training. I totally get that they were training a lot of new dogs that day and they would want to take every precaution to keep my dog and others safe, but I was a bit disappointed that I had driven over 2 hours roundtrip to not learn about her behavior at all or that the staff didn't wasn't familiar with what her main training goal was. I chalked it up to the trainer being exhausted and figured I'd learn more on her report card or a follow up call. The training videos uploaded to her page were helpful and I could tell the trainer was very experienced but because they are grouped in threes there wasn't a ton to go off of individually. The report card itself was vague and had generic language about the importance of teaching your dog basic commands (which she knows). Because of this I left a voicemail asking for a follow up call to talk about how she did and next steps but haven't heard back (it's been about two weeks). Again, not a huge deal and I thought about doing another follow up call or e-mail and I know with how popular this location is they are probably overwhelmed. The kicker for me was when I heard back from another doggy daycare I had started communicating with who notified me that my dog was outdated on all her vaccines- I know as an owner this is my responsibility and I should have caught this myself, but I was really surprised that F2D didn't catch this in my profile or at intake as I uploaded all her records and took a lot of time to put together a comprehensive profile. I had (wrongly) assumed that she was up to date since I had just taken her to the vet a month ago and she came from a shelter and had not gotten any updates on outdated vaccines. I'm guessing this is the real reason why she wasn't allowed to socialize with other dogs and not because of 'stiff body language' because in the videos and her temperament test at another doggy daycare she only had positive feedback on her behavior and socialization with dogs. Since she wasn't allowed to socialize with other dogs I'm guessing she was crated for most of the day and even though she came back negative on all her tests once I got her vaccinated I don't feel great that she was in close quarters with other dogs and could have been exposed/potentially exposed other dogs to illnesses. Again, I have heard great things about this location and am not trying to disparage F2D but wanted to be honest about my experience and a friendly reminder to other new dog owners to check vaccinations with your vet before sending them to a daycare! read more

The staff at Frogs to Dogs are life-changing. I rescued my dog 7 years ago and the crew at Frogs to Dogs has taught me everything I need to give my dog the best life. My dog went from the shelter to being able to walk through Lowe's without incident. I have been a happy F2D client since 2006. I trust them exclusively with all my dog training and in-home animal care. I have a newish rescue who had never been on a leash until a year ago. After progressing through the obedience classes, we now really enjoy the Advance Walk class on Saturday mornings. Bonita, our trainer, is great the people and dogs are lots of fun and the class itself is a fabulous way to test our obedience training in a real world situation. read more

We have done ongoing maintenance training with them for a few years and love it. They get training and also play in the yard with other dogs. Our dogs are rescues and both came with specific behavior issues. One of them was extremely dog reactive and now he is great on a leash. I love the report cards we get after their training day. It helps train me :-) to work on their training. It's a win for me and the pups. I have recommended them to several friends in our neighborhood and will continue to recommend them. We love coming to training at Frogs to Dogs! We have been training here for 4 months now and I've seen my dog Penny, improve leaps and bounds! Bonita is our favorite trainer and we make it a point to attend her classes. Bonita is tough, and makes sure she's training the humans just as much as the dogs. Teaching us life skills! Bonita gives the dogs all her love and attention but is still very strong with them in their training. Penny (our dog) loves Bonita - and gets excited every time she hears Bonitas voice. I used to take my dog here for day training. (I even took my friends dog here with him) He had leash reactivity issues which caused problems with meeting new friends that were not in a control environment. I hoped that frogs to dogs would help with his socialization but I would get videos of them teaching him tricks he already knew in the kennel run. It was ok for me since I thought it would help gain confidence... and at least I knew they were spending 15 minutes with him. But the last time I picked him up he stank like pee that I had to take him home with the windows down and still smell the strong urine. Mind you, my dog is FULLY potty trained without having any accidents so they either let a dog full on pee on him or he was stuck in a kennel that he peed in for a long time. read more

The humans at Frogs to Dogs are awesome, and you can't beat a day or two each week of daycare/training here for your pup. The staff does training sessions with your dog a couple different times throughout the day, and provides videos of the sessions along with tips on how to perform it at home. The rest of the day your dog is in supervised play ( and socialization training) with other dogs. Your pup comes home happy, tired, and still smelling good, with behavior training reinforced by strangers. Such a great concept with exceptional service delivery! read more

Frogs to Dogs had come highly recommended to me by a friend to help deal with some of my dog's severe behavioral issues, including lunging at bikers, joggers, general passers-by, etc., and barking and biting at home and at other dogs while out walking. I had tried lessons with Canine PhD who I actually really liked, but the trainer I had been working with was forced to take a break for health reasons, so I thought I'd give Frogs to Dogs a shot. When I first called them to set up an appointment back in September, it took them several days to respond. Nevertheless, they did eventually get back to me and I was able to schedule our initial training session for about two weeks later. Fast forward to the private lesson. The trainer was very effective and got good results from my dog, but told me that she wouldn't be able to do follow-up lessons as she had some things going on in her personal life. I completely understand that life happens, and she assured me that another trainer would be in touch with me soon to schedule a follow-up. About two weeks later, another trainer calls me on a Saturday morning as I am getting ready to go out of town for the weekend. I told her that I am definitely interested in another lesson, but asked if she could call me back the following week, as this wasn't an ideal time for me to talk. She assured me this would be no problem. Nearly two months, I still have had no call back. After my reactive dog nearly tackled a poor lady riding her bike down the sidewalk last week, I decided to give them a call myself to see about a follow-up. That was 8 days ago, and no one has returned my calls. Long story short, they might be the best trainers in the world for all I care, but if they can't simply reply to an inquiry in a timely fashion, even if just to say they are booked out, frankly, they're pretty useless in my opinion. read more

We started working with Caren only a few months ago, doing private lessons to work on our Boston Terrier's reactivity and obedience skills with distractions. Caren is an amazing trainer and was so patient and helpful with us. Her explanations of why we should do certain things made all the difference and since implementing her advice our dog has already made a ton of progress. We were also able to join her reactive dogs group class which has been a complete blessing. Working with Caren and Schelby has become a highlight of our weekend and every time we leave we are buzzing with new things we've learned. They are so supportive and positive, it makes it easy to feel comfortable with them. If you are the type of owner who loves and cherishes your dog as if it's one of your own children, please heed my warning: DO NOT board and train your dog with this company. I adopted Mac, an older beagle mix, 8 years old, who is extremely fear reactive to other dogs. When I adopted him, Gwinnett Animal Control told me they found him wandering on the side of a busy road. Thankfully, he's never bitten another dog, but he does lunge and bark aggressively. Otherwise, he's the perfect dog and to people, at least, he's as sweet as a meringue pie. For awhile, I researched different trainers in the Atlanta area and ultimately discovered Frogs to Dogs. After reading all of the gushing reviews across the web (including Angie's List), I knew I had to give them a try. This year, our family decided to host a reunion-sized Thanksgiving. I figured this would be the perfect time to send my dog to a board and train program, allowing our big soiree to go off without a hitch while Mac is getting some much needed socialization. I currently live in Fayetteville and can't attend the weekend classes without a long drive into the city. So, I thought perfect! This is exactly what I'm looking for. For $95 a night, I can have some of the "highest rated" trainers develop a customized plan specifically for the needs of my dog Mac. And next month, I could continue with classes to reinforce what he's learned. On November 12th, I had an evaluation with Zsolt and Tom. My Red Flag meter started vibing, when I arrived to an empty parking lot in Avondale Estates. Still yet, because of all of the positive reviews, I squashed those uneasy feelings. I told them Mac is already housebroken and knows basic commands. Upon meeting Tom, he immediately was less than enthusiastic about working with Mac. Nonetheless, Zsolt assured me that he'd worked with similar dogs before. So, I paid for three weeks in full. When I arrived for the drop off at the same Avondale Estates location, those unsettled feelings still didn't disappear. Tom showed up with an unmarked van and barely said two words to me as I handed off the leash. I gave him a care list for my dog along with his up to date shot records, two bags of Wellness Senior and my dog's red food dish. I almost couldn't bear to let my dog go, he's truly apart of our family. Tom told me that at the end of training he would send me a Youtube playlist of the progress the dog has made. Sounds like BS, right? Unfortunately, I was naive enough to believe it. How could so many perfect reviews be wrong? Let me just say, at least communication wise, whenever I reached out to Zsolt he always responded. If not immediately, then at least at some point the same day. Tom, on the other hand, never returned phone calls and probably texted me twice the entire 18+ day stay. I got a picture from Zsolt on Thanksgiving and complete white noise from Tom. He pretty much went AWOL the day after I released Mac into his care. Five days before I had to pick my dog up, he sent me a less than 30 second video, "proving" the progress my dog was making. The whole time I only made one real request. I asked Zsolt to take my dog to the groomer. I figured, it would be nice to get Mac cleaned up before I took him home. That wasn't some huge request, especially given the fact that Frogs to Dogs does not only train, but also pet sits and has a dog taxi business. I made an appointment with the groomer the day prior and had given Zsolt all of the details 24 hours before. The following day, I called the groomer at the time of the appointment and was told Tom had showed up late. Tom insisted, that instead of meeting at my home, he wanted to meet at the parking lot to do "transfer training" during one of their classes. So, on Dec 3rd, the big day arrives and I show up on time excited to see Mac and ready to learn. The first thing I noticed was Tom didn't have my dog in his possession. He approached me and literally said, "Oh, let me go grab your dog from my car." Tom had my dog locked in his car not even taking part in classes. When he emerged with Mac, he could barely control the dog himself. From the outset, it seemed as though nothing had changed from the day I dropped my dog off to be trained. My dog still lunged wildly and barked with little control. It became obvious that Tom just kept my dog and didn't do much else. I had to beg Tom to return my items. Even worse, I looked down at Mac's front paws and saw large sores all over his front legs. Please view the photos. Worried, again I asked Tom about the Youtube Playlist I'd receive to show the progress of my dog's training. I got nothing. I'm crying even as I write this. My dog may have been neglected or worse abused. It's not even about the money. I'm sorry this is long, but I cannot standby without warning other dog owners. If you love your animal, read these reviews with a grain of salt. Or, like me, you may truly and utterly regret it. read more

I've never owned a well behaved dog, but I'm getting there with help from Bonita at Frogs to Dogs. Sadly, I never realized our sweet Hank might still be alive if he'd learned what our puppy Pablo is learning. I'm so thankful for the knowledge I'm gaining at Frogs to Dogs from Bonita. She is full of energy and her passion for training shows. You'll learn what to do, how to do it, and why it's important. Sit, stay, touch, down, focus, and heal are a few things my dog has learned. Wait is his new word for today. Wait at the door, wait before you cross the street....a lifesaving word for a dog.In a class standing six feet away from other people, Bonita gives each person individual attention while keeping the entire class occupied with training. We have had a wonderful experience with Frogs to Dogs so far! Our at home training lesson with Aden was great- he was thorough and patient, and answered all of our questions. Their pet walkers are amazing. I am very happy with mine. She's is diligent, great communicator, my dog loves her, she's respectful to my home, and an all around awesome lady! As far as invoicing goes, it's a nightmare. They'll send you multiple invoices throughout the month, sometimes with the correct dates (make sure to double check them because they don't keep proper check). They don't keep track of the correct invoices you've paid for so make sure to indicate what invoice number is that you're paying for. Their pdf invoices don't show the actual dates of the walks so make sure to have them send a listed email And compare to the pdf. Needless to say, if you've got a fluctuating schedule, BEWARE. I've had nothing but trouble with their billing and it's become a part time job trying to double check the person who's job is to do this. Completely disorganized and a mess. read more

This is my 3rd 5-Star review in as many years for this amazing team of dedicated trainers & dog enthusiasts. This review goes to Caren, who just changed my life! Caren, you are an excellent People Trainer!!! Here is my story: 3 years in, I've had 2 dogs, 3 fosters and one persistent problem child, Baxter. In class, Baxter would excel, but he was still a PAIN in my "you know what" at my home & on our street. Typical Baxter = barking and lunging at new guests, demanding attention, territorial aggression. Does this sound familiar? Keep reading... This morning at 9am (AFTER 3 YEARS AND TONS OF OBEDIENCE WORK) we had a home training visit with Caren, and it changed our lives! Listen folks, when they tell you that training begins in your home, they're not kidding. If you attend class and follow the rules & still have problems, its probably time for a home visit. You most likely don't even know that Fido's penchant to run down the stairs ahead of you or to howl sweetly perched on the sofa are unwanted behaviors, I certainly didn't. 3 hours after Caren's departure I'm following a simple set of rules, that quite frankly, I didn't think would help much, because...quite frankly, I thought I was already doing these things correctly. WRONG! New House Rules Implemented at 10:30am... ...1:30pm: I am happily dumfounded and positively annoyed at how quickly the dogs caught on and started following the New House Rules. Baxter appears to be relieved that I am FINALLY doing my job, by giving him the direction and discipline he craves. I could kick myself!!! 3 Hours Post-Caren-Training-Visit I sent her the following text: "You're an excellent people trainer :)" Because it had dawned on me that Baxter was never the problem... Once again, Thanks FTD, for all of the things that you do for us misbehaving humans, might I suggest a human shock collar for especially stubborn clients (like myself). Frogs to Dogs has done what I had come to think wasn't possible-make a gentleman out of my Duke! After spending thousands on 2.5 weeks of training while living with the trainer, several different group classes, two animal behaviorists (with PhDs!), and even a pet psychic (hey it was worth a shot, right?), I had all but given up hope that my little boy could be a civilized member of society. He is a rescue and shows all the signs of having had a rough life before coming home with me. Someone suggested Frogs to Dogs to me, and I figured why not? From the first time we met Zsolt, I knew FTD was different. He asked great questions, listened closely to my responses, and gave me excellent explanations to back up his responses/suggestions. In detail, he explained why Duke did what he was doing, and when he told me what I should be doing he explained, again in detail, his reasoning behind it. After four plus years, and countless methods, it all clicked when Duke and I starting working with Zsolt. We signed up for the unlimited reactive training program (a deal if you ask me!) and I have seen so much progress already. I continue to see progress with each class. If I had tried Frogs to Dogs first, I would have saved enough to take a nice vacation. But the important thing is that I did find them. read more

If you have a pup with emotional issues (separation anxiety, aggression, etc.) - read on.. I've used Frogs to Dogs (FTD) for three types of services: reactive training for behavioral issues, dog walking services, and pet sitting services. FTD offers Unlimited Reactive Training classes where my boxer Sophie joins trainers Zsolt and Allison in a class of other semi-neurotic dogs to work out emotional/behavior problems. For Sophie, it has been separation anxiety and dog aggression. These classes have helped Sophie (and me!) develop a great deal of confidence in the short amount of time we've been attending classes. She has many more positive interactions with other dogs, and she is doing significantly better when left alone at home. HUGE BONUS: the "unlimited" portion of the class name means that Sophie and I can return to these classes as often as we want for her entire life. Because of Sophie's separation anxiety, I RARELY take vacations unless she is able to join me. I just spent a stress-free weekend away while Allison of FTD slept nights in my home with Sophie. Zsolt kept Sophie for daycamp during the days where she received special attention, training, and more positive interactions with other dogs. I much prefer this arrangement over boarding while she continues to struggle with separation anxiety and aggression with other dogs. I take a great deal of comfort in knowing Sophie is in the hands of dog behavioral professionals who are familiar with her specific quirks. While pet sitting, Allison sent me text updates every day, video footage of my little girl having a positive interaction with another dog, and she even washed the sheets, made the bed, walked and fed Sophie just before I returned to town so that I coud go straight home and enjoy my pup. The extreme confidence I have in Frogs to Dogs' staff for caring for my special needs dog is only heightened by these personal touches. I just really love these guys. read more

Sarah took fantastic care of our cat while we were out of town and I cannot recommend her enough! Not only did she send updates and pictures with every visit, but she went even further above and beyond one night when it appeared our cat had gotten out of the house (due to no fault of Sarah's). I called her in a panic and she went straight over at 11pm to check. Luckily the cat was fine, but I really appreciated Sarah's dedication and how much she truly cared for my cat. I hope Sarah is available for all of our pet sitting needs!! read more

I recently moved to Atlanta so I don't really have too many friends to sucker into watching my pets for me while I go out of town. After doing a lot of Googling, weeping, and soul searching I figured that Frogs to Dogs would be my best bet to watch my cats while I was gone. I called them up and talked to Andrew who said that Amanda would be the one looking after my cats. We scheduled a formal meet and greet as part of the deal. When that time came, Amanda did a cat "How do you do" with my feline children, and I showed her where the food and bowls were. I went on my vacation with full confidence that my cats were in good hands. Overall it was a great experience with really great customer service. Andrew was on top of any questions or concerns that I had. After my vacation I came back to two very happy cats. They're so happy that I no longer think they're plotting my untimely demise. read more

Be forewarned, this may be long and full of hyperbole. Pay attention to those 5 stars that Frogs to Dogs has because they've earned every one. All of the people here who are giving gushing reviews are doing so for a reason. This is just my story: We recently adopted a rescue dog and he's in that nightmarish stage of adolescence. He's already got a lot of energy but the adolescent defiance makes for some very bad days for both of us. He's good a lot of the time, but sometimes I have felt overwhelmed and disheartened. I push on because 1) I'm a perfectionist and defeat is not an option, 2) I really do love my dog, he's a member of the family for better or worse, and 3) I want the very best for him, which by my standards includes a healthy diet, joy, exercise, affection, stimulation, calm, and socialization (both people and animals) - did I mention I'm a perfectionist? Our rescue group actually recommended Frogs to Dogs. I called before our adoption was even complete and spoke to Andrew on the phone. For at least 40 minutes he gave me his time, listening to my dreams of perfect behavior for my new dog, my stories about my last dog who passed away at 15 years old, and answering any and all questions I had about everything from what kind of harness I should use to what to look for in doggy daycare and parks. I was immediately impressed and excited about getting started. Also, I should add that their pricing structure is unlike any I've found in the metro area - really, a one price for life is just stunning and was my first clue that these people care more about the well-being of the dogs and their people than any kind of profit. I will say that my first class didn't go as perfectly as I hoped. My dog is a bit feisty and didn't know me that well yet, so taking him to an indoor class with lots of smells and sounds and other dogs did put him into that "I'm so excited I can't see straight" mode. Also, it's a group class and though the one trainer Zsolt provided individualized instruction catered for each dog, he went back and forth with everyone so I worried we wouldn't get enough attention. I have come to feel MORE than confident that this is not just any old training place - this is a family and I feel like I'm part of a pack. Zsolt is one of the most patient, knowledgeable, and friendly dog people I've met. There's just a way about him that you instantly trust what he's telling you, even if it's not ideally what you want to hear. In my case, "bossy dog" and "your energies are feeding off of each other." And he's totally right and I have discovered that what I originally assumed to be a "training" of my dog is much more like a journey of "bonding" with him - we are building a relationship that works for both of us. What made me finally come here and write a review was my experience today at our usual outdoor Saturday class. My dog and I had had a string of particularly bad days and my nerves were just frayed. I was near tears when we arrived. Each class is not just about the basic commands - though we do that, too - but about socialization and confidence and maintaining focus. Today I needed to come up with ideas to tame my dog's intense energy and before class started, I was telling Zsolt about it and he gave me so much support that I feel like a million bucks now. My dog is not aggressive or reactive but is pretty bossy and very energetic, so he definitely needs work on socializing and I would love for him to at minimum have play dates with another dog. Zsolt arranged for some Lifeline dogs to come out and meet my dog and to take walks. To try to cut this story shorter, I will just say that I ended up signing up to be a volunteer at Lifeline to walk the dogs and help however I can. It's a creative way for me to work out my own stress issues and to provide some exercise for these dogs waiting for adoption. Win-Win! But beyond Zsolt's incredible dedication to me and my dog, at the end of the hour I felt so much support from other Frogs to Dogs staff, the Lifeline staff, and the other dog owners in the class. I realized today that we are a very supportive community. We have our regulars and even if we don't know the people's names, we tend to know all the dog names. We all give treats and encouragement to each others' dogs and I feel that there's a genuine camaraderie among us. How many dog trainers offer you that? So let's wrap this up: incredible price, incredible results (my dog may be bossy but he DOES sit, lay down, and stay when I tell him to), incredible staff, incredible fellow clients, incredible attention. I restate that there is a reason this place has so many stars and rave reviews. And there's a reason that many rescue groups in the area recommend Frogs to Dogs: they seriously care about dogs and people and they will go the extra mile to help you out.
