Legacy adventure Park is a fantastic outing for you and the family! I brought my kids here and one of their friends for my son's birthday, and was certainly not disappointed! We played a different field every single round, and we stayed the full day, which was about six hours! The leader of our group was Gavin i believe and he did an outstanding job of controlling the kids and early 20 something's who can get a little excitable, to provide safe and Fairplay for everybody! He also did me a serious solid when something happened that could've ruined the day, but he was able to fix the issue Immediately! I truly appreciate that! All of the fields are unique, vast and have different qualities to them! I will say, if you're going to play airsoft, and you're gonna be there most of the day, you'll probably need to buy the extra bag of ammo. That was 100% needed for all of us playing. The rental guns are pretty decent, I wouldn't necessarily expect too much, but they definitely get the job done and they were thoroughly explained to everybody on how to use them. If you are having a malfunction or it is not shooting properly, let them know and they will get you fixed up. I certainly wouldn't call the experience cheap, but I do think it was worth it in the long run! If you go often, you definitely want a membership, and I don't really have any great tips on discounts besides book online to save yourself I think five dollars per person. Otherwise, expect to get the day pass, the equipment rental, and probably some extra ammo regardless if you're playing airsoft or paintball. Although you might be able to get away with what they provide you for paintball? All in all, it's an incredibly fun experience and I would say ages 10 and up would thoroughly enjoy it! Airsoft pellets, don't hurt too much, but you will feel them, paintballs are a little bit different and you'll definitely feel that. There seem to be double the air-soft players for what its worth. Wear long sleeves/pants and extra padding if need be! All in all, this is a great place for huge groups, birthday parties, or just going in by yourself for open play matches and enjoying your day! My first and last airsoft trip. They do not enforce the rules about rapid fire. They don't seem to enforce any rules at all. The overkills were bad but getting hit more times than I could count in one burst from an LMG that was clearly against the posted rules. People weren't calling their kills and others were switching to full auto in the field. They also played with strange game rules that people didn't understand and it created lots of confusion and people yelling about the rules. When I asked about the rules they said the posted rules were out of date and the updated ones are on the way. I told them that was ridiculous. They gave me a refund and I left. read more

Legacy is a good day of fun. At the time of this review, entry fee is $30 which is more than fair for the amount of time you have to play. It is true that it can take a long while between games, but this delay is more about the players and less about the staff. There are times when its like herding cats to get the players to heed the call to load the trailers. A five-minute call to report tuns into 15 minutes. The Legacy staff are entertainment experts and they cater to the customer experience. They want you to have a good time and they go out of their way to make that happen. Legacy wants you to use their bio-BBs and paint, which is understandable because they lease property from a Park District. A large bag of BBs is $20 and will last a single player an entire day. By far the best experience I could have asked for for a first time Paintballer! The grounds are so spread out and the games are creative and fun to run around! The staff was not just friendly but beyond knowledgeable and gave all the beginners a great sense of security, considering we were all armed. And they all made absolute sure we were all safe all day long. They are so professional but also make that everyone is enjoying themselves to the fullest degree. Went to Legacy for my daughter's friend's 15th birthday. Really well run place. Our "referee" was Matt. All the staff care about rules and safety, and aren't afraid to make sure the kids/teens/adults follow them. They are really nice and even accommodated our group by finding an open course for a quick game because some of our group had to leave early. Awesome courses and really fun. I booked an archery tag event and me and my guests were very disappointed in our experience. We were expecting to play on one of the fields like the picture shows but instead we played by a bunch of picnic tables. Very rude staff. Games are to short unfair teams the regular local players (friends) get put on one team and then so it's like shooting fish in a barrel. No people don't call being shot and it's not enforced by staff.you have to buy their garbage bb"s but the friends bring and use there own. The fields are trash to small to much garbage in the way. I have played there 4 times and it's the same field rotation makes me wonder if they really have more fields. Way to many speeches by staff the first one at the start is enough we come to play not get speech after speech over and over. No other field is like this place after the 1st briefing it's game on. Here every field over and over each time wasting my time. Then 20 minutes of play then walk back 5 minutes to load walk back 20 minutes of play walk back you get the point. The web site says they are constantly upgrading the fields I still haven't seen a single change in 4 months. I video to prove it as well unless it's the paint balls on the ground they are referring to. The only nice thing they do have is food. No taste but better the McShits. If you want to play at a real field go to Sherwood Forest or Mir tactical event they do thing correctly. I hope someone from there reads this because we had some 1st timers on our team who couldn't stand the way this place operates. How unfair the staff caters to the locals. read more

Woods ball has never been my game of choice. Most people know me as a CQB game player. To be honest, I did not have really high hopes for my first visit to Legacy in 3 years. I live 10 minutes from the field and had no interest in returning. To say I was a bit surprised would be accurate. Legacy Paintball part 2 did it right. Any issues the advanced recreational paintball player had before were addressed. The new ownership installed safe zones on the field for "goggles off" moments in between games. You are not going to find that at even the biggest parks. Outstanding idea. The new owners incorporated vehicles for player transport. Considering the distance between the maps and the staging area, needed. They have made improvements to the existing fields to make them more playable. You are still going to encounter a tree root every now and then. It is just obvious that efforts were made to improve the tracks. Well done. The last issue Legacy addressed was the game play itself. The advanced recreational player would rarely get their moneys worth in walk on play. Legacy just did not attract the major organizations. I can say this. The day of my visit, players from 3 major organizations were playing. In conversations, I found out they are now regulars there. That's says something. And on a Saturday in September, when 2 major Midwest scenario events were be held at other parks, Legacy had 80+ walk on players on a map. You can now absolutely find a game here. Not enough to be able to host elite open play games yet. At this rate, It seems like a reachable goal in the near future. Simple to say, Legacy is a park with players of all levels. They will be hosting one of the biggest Midwest Scenario games in May of 2019. I would love for them to get enough numbers that open and elite players can be separated. Be ready to become a repeat customer here. I am very curious how they will accommodate a Legends size field. Give them a try. Details Shoes: Boots only. Woodsball. Firing Modes: Semi only. First time here and what a great experience! I hosted my son's 14th birthday party here, party of six. None of the boys had done this before. The park is huge, with ample parking and numerous picnic tables amongst the trees for shade. Check in was no problem, the staff are very helpful. We did the package that gets you gun, helmet and 500 paint balls each. They showed them how to load and safety was the main focus. After the general safety rules were reviewed to all in attendance the players are loaded into a hay ride type of trailer pulled by a Chevy pickup. The ride to the field is about 5 min. First everyone is unloaded and then they are in a net holding area. Rules of play are explained and then every other get an arm band which denotes which side of the field you are on. Players are told by the referee when to begin play, and the refs make sure that players who are "hit" are safely allowed to leave and go back to the net enclosure. Now, a word on the fields: THESE FIELDS ARE AWESOME! My gosh, what a wonderfully decorated set up. There are like six play fields each with a theme. Completely fantastic, set up for maximum fun. Finally, I wanted to call out two staff members who were extremely helpful and courteous: Matt and Audra (Prob misspelled I think?, sorry!). Matt led us through the battle play matches and he was very patient and helpful. I was impressed with his authoritative demeanor. The other staff member was Audra. She was very attentive and helpful. She made sure the picnic area was straightened up and even offered to keep our cup cakes in the staff fridge! All in all this place is a class act! What can I say?!? My now 11 yr old daughter wanted to do something different for her birthday so we Google'd "paintball near me". There a few places nearby but they didn't catch her eye. We clicked on Legacy Adventure Park and browsed the page and she said she wanted to do Archery Tag. We send an email for info. Once we got the call back, I booked th Archery Tag and my daughter was ecstatic! It was a crazy drive through an old beat up road with abandoned trucks, I'm assuming this was for the paintball or laser tag or zombie tag. We finally arrived and were immediately greeted. I can't remember his name, but he directed us where to go and get signed in. Derek was our host! I can't say enough great things about Derek! He was an amazing host! He was so patient and fun and...let me tell you...I didn't know you were supposed to bring your own water or drinks, party stuff or anything like that! We just brought cake. Derek made every thing happen from water to plates to forks to a cutting knife! Derek made the whole experience for me and the kids a great one! Not as great as Cpx but it seemed a bit cheaper and the service was better. They need a legit pro shop. Safety was a clear high priority which it should be. Some maps were small but well laid out. Overall I would recommend it. read more

Tried it for the first time today. Nice facility, friendly staff. IMO it is very pricey, $105 for case and entry. Not the largest place. My biggest gripe is the amount of downtime spent. Waiting to start games. We decided to sit for one game and it was well over an hour before the next game was called. They don't run multiple open play games, at least today they did not. read more

I took a youth group there with 16 kids and did a private party and they had a blast! At first the girls were very nervous but by the end they were loving every minute of it. We had a great referee who took his time with us since no one has played paintball before. The kids all want to go back and do it again! read more

This was a very fun activity and made even more fun by our referee Tony. He was out there just trying to get us to have as much fun as possible and maximize our playing time. I went booked a private, which I loved because it was everyone in my groups first time paintballing. And, I want to say that it hurts lol, make sure you cover up your neck meat, and since it's the season I would wear gloves, the paint can break skin. I booked a birthday party here. Working with management beforehand was great. Responsive to questions and went the extra mile to make it special. When plans changed a bit, management was flexible and gave me many options. Day of the event their assistance was wonderful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Games were organized and we ended up staying much later than we originally thought because everyone had such a great time, even though it was crowded. I can guarantee we will be back. read more
