So we decided to try the barbershop. Taking him over a dozen times just to get him comfortable with his surroundings was one of the best decisions I made. Was expecting a typical haircut but some stuff that made the experience so much better: 1. Faced the mirror the entire time to help me see the haircut as it happened and make any adjustments as needed. None of the back to the mirror shenanigans other barbers do to hide how dirty their equipment may be or their workstation. 2. I wanted skin on the sides and without asking he used a warm towel, shaving cream, and the straight razor prior to using the electric razor to ensure a silky smooth cut. 3. Washed my hair without asking, not only using water to rinse, but actually shampooed it as well. 4. Most barbers only use one towel, if at all. But he used numerous towels for the hair cut, always keeping a sanitary work station. 5. I was in my work uniform and he ensured no hair was on my clothes once completed. 6. Went over the hair cut one more time to ensure no loose hairs were showing and ensured it was as even as possible Just the overall experience was a great one. Walked in and my boys were taken right away. They had some grown out messes, the guys at proof gave them some sweet fades with hard parts and they look awesome. We used to go to Great clips, and my boys sometimes came out looking like a cast member from the golden girls. We have found our new spot!
