We came on a Sunday when there was a DJ. Food was good actually really good! I was in a party of 3 and all of the food and drinks were good. I ordered oxtails collard greens Mac and cheese and plantains. Upon arrival at the door there were three guys there working security and patting people down to enter just to pick up their food order. The par down was very invasive and top agressive. I did not like the patdown and it was inappropriate and very obtrusive. As I walked inside I went to the front to pick up my order. The female behind the front desk area was very unfriendly and had a rude demeanor and stated that my food was not ready. I replied that the websites tracking my order said that the order was ready for pickup 10 minutes prior. She emphatically stated that my order was not ready. She picked up an order and walked to the kitchen area and came back out with what appeared to be the same bag that contained my food. I received no thank you for your order or thank you for your patronage. I ordered Oxtails which were too salty and not tender. The collard greens had too much black pepper and salt cooked inside and the Mac and cheese was horrible and tasted cheap and salty. A Fifth grader could have cooked better. Fist and foremost those eggrolls has nothing Caribbean about them BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! Another disappointment the only got items on the table were the plain twins & the eggrolls. All of the food was room temperature & some of the curry goat was dry like the plate has been sitting there. It's like the plates are sitting under a warmer for an illusion that the food is hot. Like someone said before the food was bland. Don't get me wrong it had a tad flavor but there was no spice or anything unique to it. The drink I had was extremely too sweet, it gave me an upset stomach so I had to leave. I don't think that this place is kid friendly after 830 ish on Saturday evenings. So if you're looking for family dinner please do not come here with your kids late (just my personal opinion) for the parents. I have to say that I was just... underwhelmed. I think I've eaten here before, but it wasn't memorable until I walked in. The place is HUGE, but empty. I was craving whole fish, which is hard to find and they recommended their brown stew fish. It's a medium sized whole red snapper that's been fried, then covered in a lightly spiced thin brown sauce with potatoes and bell peppers. It was okay. I liked that the sauce wasn't sweet, but for me it needed just a bit more heat. Will I order it again? I think yes. But I think I'll order the sauce and veggies on the side so I can enjoy a crispy fried whole snapper. The rice and peas. it had potential. First bite, I was grateful that the rice wasn't dry. The dish was moist at least, but then you realize that it doesn't really have any flavor. Like it was moist, but bland, and sort of chalky? I didn't really complain because replacing a sad side just isn't worth the hassle. Though if these had been good it would have been a great deal. It was a huge serving! But as it was, I could only eat a few bites of it. The Collards were decent. They were tender but not overcooked. And they were seasoned. But I'm southern. I need pepper vinegar or good hot sauce. It's a carribean /Jamaican place. I asked for hot sauce and got packets of texas pete. . Really? Not even some real Jamaican hot sauce in a little cup if you don't want people touching the bottle or some Tabasco?? So, yeah. My first time here on a whim. I will be back. The red snapper was delicious. I hadn't had a whole fish in a long time. The thyme pieces in the stew and the fish bones were the only things that kept me from devouring everything in five minutes. I only wish some pepper sauce was available (they were out). Okay, so let me get this out of the way: We are not from these neck of the woods, and I have not been to a club in at least 25 years, so this place made me nervous as soon as we stepped our of the car: There was a security guy there to pat us down, (they use a wand detector for the ladies), that made me nervous, so we ordered our food to go. As we sat at the table waiting for our food, we noticed folks playing cards and dominoes at various tables, they were having a great time! There were plenty of folks sitting at the bar, there were folks in the smokers lounge, and then the DJ appeared to start Karaoke Mondays! We were truly entertained while waiting for our food, so my spidy senses relaxed- a "lil" bit. I noticed they have special theme nights like taco Tuesdays, Freaky Fridays (No, I didn't ask), and so on. It's obvious this is the local hang out. Our food came, we headed out the door and enjoyed an amazing meal in our hotel room, really good food! My only request would be to put the greens in a seperate container because they made the fish a bit soggy, but this food was authentically Caribbean soul food. The food is good, but the service is extemely lackluster. Yes, I know, the best Caribbean restaurants have the worst service, but that's an adage that needs to go the way of the dinosaur. For takeout, this is the second time they told me my food would be ready in 15 mins, but instead it took 40. A full 25-minute difference for those keeping score! They claimed the kitchen was backed up, but didnt say anything when I placed my order a few minutes earlier. But even worse, I was frisked upon entering BUT they weren't enforcing mask wearing (aside from a flimsy sign on the door)...so basically safety is totally relative. The servers/service women at the front look overworked too, which I can sympathize with, but they are also pretty mean if you don't know them. Its a shame really. My family is from the Caribbean and I live close by, so this should be on my regular rotation of places to support, but I cannot return here. read more

After paying $25 for reservation fee and then $10 for entry I left after sitting in a bright lounge barely empty with subpar service. I went across the street to the Legacy Caribbean bar & lounge and got to enjoy the rest of my evening!! The was no entry charge and lighting was perfect, drinks and service were excellent!! Visited Legacy on a Thursday evening after work for some cocktails and dinner. I sat at the bar busy the restaurant was not crowded at all. The space is huge with plenty of seating options. That also have a separate billiards room. Service was a little slow but there was only on bartender. I ordered a ciroc peach and club soda but the bar does not have club soda at all which I found a little odd so I proceeded with cranberry juice in lieu of club soda. For dinner I order the jerk chicken entree which came with sides, so I opted for rice & peas and cabbage with a side of plantains and coco bread. The chicken was really good and I was happy they provided extra sides of jerk sauce. The sides were a nice compliment to the chicken but the cabbage could have been better seasoned. Legacy was formerly Mobays on parklane. From my understanding it's the same ownership or at least someone who was affiliated with Mobays. The space is very large and has a huge bar area. They also have an area with 3-4 pool table which is pretty cool. I came here late one night with a group of friends. FYI they start checking ids for 25 yrs old and up at a certain time (I'm not sure exactly when). We had to convince them to let one of our friends in because he's 24. I only had drinks and a side of plantains. The plantains were delicious! It seems like they have the same menu as the old restaurant. The bartender was very sweet and friendly.
