We had amazing Korean food and mocktails here in an unsuspecting place. We ordered the Guava getaway, Creamy Limeade, Kimchi Cheese Fries, Kangjeong (Boneless Wings), Spicy Squid and Pork Belly with rice, and Japchae. The drinks were blended very well and used fresh lime juice, which was nice. The appetizers -- the kimchi fries and the boneless wings were pretty standard. The fries were crunchy, but we felt like there was more cheese than there was kimchi and sauce, so we've had better kimchi fries elsewhere. The cheese was very gooey though. The boneless wings weren't as crunchy as they could have been, especially coming out in a stone dish, but the garlic soy sauce was still pretty good. Our mains were really good -- the japchae, which I ordered with fried tofu, had the right texture and flavor, and was delicious yet spicy. The tofu was a little bland though. My partner enjoyed the squid and pork belly dish and said that the sauce was similar to the japchae sauce. The portions were pretty normal and not too big, so we had a few leftovers but not too many. The prices were also pretty reasonable as well. Overall we were really happy with our food here and would come back if we ever visited again. read more

Dinner was fantastic! The kimchi trio was far too much for one person, but delicious. The radish and jalapeños were sweet, and the cucumbers mildly spicy. The noodles were with the spicy pork, the pork was very tender and the spicy sauce was perfect. The atmosphere was nice and inviting, I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender. Our serve was Gina she was super sweet and great! We shared the rosé tteokbokki with boiled eggs, cheese, and fish cakes added. This is a new item on the menu since they remodeled. They bring out a pan and a hot plate and it cooks right in front of you. Also my first time having rosé flavoring. Delicious. 10/10 As well as their popular kimchi cheese fries. Which is as good as it always is! Could have more kimchi for me! 8/10 You also can miss out on the BanChan which is always changing. This time around they had all my favorites kimchi, kimchi cucumber, and a pickled onion 10/10 I had my favorite dish here the Japchae with fried tofu. So simple but so delicious. One of my favorite foods in this world is Korea's street food "tteokbokki". Chewy rice cakes, succulent spicy broth, delectable GOODNESS! When i tell yall I stand ten toes down on 929 Kitchen?! The bartender, Nick, is one of the coolest people I've met since coming into Columbia and im so glad I just happened upon this place. I, as a white person, was absolutely sweating bullets trying to down this dish (and I'm from Cajun country yall, spice ain't no thang for me) but woooowweee!! I ordered the half & half wings with a side of regular fries, everything came out fast... a little too fast. The flavor on the wings was really good but I could tell these wings were not freshly cooked, they were warm but not hot. Went back night two because it was so good. Add the wings they are also fantastic. Bar tender made a twist on the Old Fashion for us...personally I like his original better...but my wife enjoyed the twist better (made with Rye and has hints of cinnamon and maple). Terrific experience and excited to return soon! The restaurant was maybe 90% full, but we were attended to immediately, had our drink orders inside of two minutes, an app (the fermented starters including kimchi are fantastic) only a few minutes later, and our main food orders within ten minutes of coming in. The service was excellent and incredibly fast, the food was great (I had the squid and pork belly dish, my partner had a bi bim bap with chicken), and I dig the cozy ambience. The menu has something for everyone, from traditional Korean dishes to creative fusion options. We visited with our two young kids (ages 2 and 5), and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. When we asked for a highchair, one of the team members not only brought it over but also took the time to sanitize the entire chair, which we really appreciated. We also asked for water for the table, and our server went above and beyond--bringing the kids water in pouches with blinking lights, which they absolutely loved. The lunch specials were pretty run-of-the-mill, and the banchan fairly standard. The Japchae was on the oily side and the noodles were gooey not springy or Q. Our favorite dish was the fish pastry dessert that basically was like a thin donut with chocolate filling on a bed of chocolate rocks. They must be curious why our fish bowl was empty when we returned it but we took the rocks home to enjoy! read more
