a hand holding a cigar and a glass of beer

Found myself in Tavares for work on a late Thursday evening and my co-worker/friend decided he wanted a stick and a drink to wind down. Very clean place and the gentleman running the place was very friendly and helpful. Not a huge selection but you can definitely find something to smoke. They also ask you to write down cigar suggestions if you don't find what you're looking for. I was in an empty stomach so I decided to smoke a mild cigar and kind of joked around with the gentleman about not wanting to smoke a full body cigar and end up puking all over his shop. Had a really nice Stout I'd never had before, "The Dude" by Ormond Brewing Company. This will be my go-to beer when if I find myself in the area again. We sat outside and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing conversation.

Just minutes away from Mt Dora in a nice area of town is Hemingway's bar. They have a variety of wines, beer and cigars. Since we are not smokers, we opted to sit outside and enjoy our wine. We both got red wine, one bourbon barrel aged red blend and a Spanish red wine that is sweet. We throughly enjoyed our drinks. The gentleman serving was super helpful and courteous. We would've stayed long, but we had a long day and only wanted to have one drink before going to our resort. If cigars do not bother you, then I'd highly recommend. Otherwise, the patio is a great option to still enjoy your beverage of choice. Plenty of parking and clean restrooms.

This place is so chill and relaxing and laid-back! The smell of fresh cigars and the different types of tobaccos are amazing! The cigars are very fine dining tight smooth and tasteful! Very great place to sit back and relax and listen to good music and have a great vibes!

most of the reviews are old; the bar is under new management / owner since oct 2020. first opening date is nov 27 2020 andy's working on an online presence, but doesn't have one yet. he does have a f.b. page though - hemingwayswinebeer&cigarbar good selection of tap beers and bottled good cigar selection and andy thompson is a pretty decent bartender they don't have any food, so don't go there on an empty stomach. there's a pool table there, that wood-block game, they have a dart board, but nobody's used it. fridays they have live entertainment

Waitress was great and attentive. They were out of quite a bit of their selections. Quaint local place for beer or wine and a cigar

What a fun date night out ! I'd never been to a cigar bar…read moreso I didn't know what to expect but this is what he planned and I ended up really enjoying myself. This location is in Dr Phillips and in one of my favorite plazas. Upon entering I expected it to be smoky and unbearable but it was actually opposite. After grabbing a seat near the bar and tvs , we ordered a few drinks and then I was surprised by my big cousin who has his brand of cigars there! Everyone that worked there was really nice and I was given a nice tour through the selections of cigars and all the accessories. I decided to smoke one of my cousins cigars ( Leon Searcy ) while we watched the FIFA games and vibed out. I loved that there were other women enjoying cigars and we ended up sitting on the couch networking before heading out. There are locations downtown Orlando and lake Mary as well but this location is convenient for me. I will definitely comeback , it's a vibe !

We show up and I didn't have high expectations, given there's only 2 reviews and it's not fancy looking from the outside. And yet... We walk in and there's a group of men playing cards around a table. Then go to the back coffee shop area and meet a group of young men and they immediately welcome us and talk to us like old friends. I told them I had never had hookah before, but always wanted it. So they immediately started telling me all about it and asking me questions on what I like. During the education, not one, but two different guys offered up their hookahs for me to taste as they made recommendations and helped me decide on my flavor. I then went to the counter to order some food and noticed they had Turkish coffee. I LOVE Turkish coffee and they did not disappoint. They then mentioned and recommended Moroccan tea, which was exceptional. I was going to order a giro, which I love, but because it was Friday, they had some off menu items and highly recommended them. The men sitting around the tables said "order it! Im a foodie and you can only get that if you travel to Morocco." I ordered the chicken dish and HOLY COW it was incredible!!!! Seriously, some of the best tasting chicken I've EVER eaten. It came in a sauce made in heaven along with thinly sliced potatoes cooked to perfection and a bunch of green olives that had the best flavor ever (just be aware the pit is still in them). Everyone in the group ordered something different and all thought it was exceptional and everyone raved about the staff and experience. The staff was exceptional! Very pleasant, welcoming, professional, polite, always serving without bothering, making you feel like family and guest of honor. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The owner was present, welcoming, made time for us to speak to each of us individually, made room for us at the last minute, and everyone in the building followed suit.

I visited the Old Fashion Cigar shop Saturday 28-February-2026…read more This was my first time to this cigar shop. Visiting the area for two weeks. Google Cigar stores near me and this was the first on the list. I give it a 2 because of the billing experience. I would recommend people to visit. But pay attention to the billing process. The lack of a humidor = 1. The attentiveness to the customer = 5. Bathroom was clean and taken care of = 5. Seating was adequate = 3. It is a small cigar shop by footprint the main area has the cigars along the wall. A bathroom and a number of comfortable seating options. If one chooses there are tables outside to use. There is a bar area in a second room. It has bar stools for sitting. I was there mid afternoon not crowded. The owner Mr. G told me there is music in evening come the weekend. I would imagine this could become a tight place to be in. There is no humidor room for cigars. I shown a humidifier up in the ceiling area. But yet the door was open. Due to room size it would not be possible to setup a humidor room. That would give pause on how well cigars can hold up. I smoked two and one of them the wrapper started to show signs of coming apart. But was able to finish it. The team is very friendly. I was greeted when I came in. Was shown the cigar selections. Mr G the owner spent time chatting with me. Waitresses were attentive. I had a couple of Dark IPAs on tap. Good Pricing was to be expected ranging from $10 to $20. The downside to the experience was when I checked out 18% tip was added to the bill ($15.00) Yet on the bottom it has suggested tip from 18%, 20, 25%. So one is tipping on the beverages and beer. The tax is about 10.5%. In all my cigar shop visits I have never paid a tip on cigars. The beers were $5.95 each. I know that someone took time to show me the selection but others shop do as well. If i do visit again I would pay for the cigars upon purchase. Let the bar bill be a seperate charge. At this point when I tip I do it in cash and keep it to 10% to 15% and if exceptional 20%. The beers were expensive based on the tip. I am sure there is rationale to the why but this one took away from the whole experience. I supposed I could have push back but just let it be as a learning experience. The last point is when I went to sign off it was suggested by the staff and machine I could add an additional tip amount. I declined.
