We were seated in a tucked away booth so we had some privacy and the bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of cocktails and different appetizers to try. We went here with our siblings that live in Florida. They recommended this place as one of their favorite locations. It's different because you're in what appears to be a submarine and damn does it feel like it as well. You are so damn tight in this place and it's small. We sat down and got waited on immediately. I wasn't in a beer mood and ordered some wine instead. The bartender was down to earth. She was the best of the bartenders out there. We did selfies when my wife went to the bathroom and she was such a good sport because she got involved in the pics. Ran into my siblings friends and we got to talking about wine and beer. My friend and I wanted a fun cocktail on a quiet Sunday afternoon and we got that and more. We sat in a porthole booth and it was quite cozy and secluded. We felt like we were on a ship in there. The porthole had too much light coming in and the server offered to cover it so it was perfectly dim. We were able to chill and take our time eating and drinking. Sometimes servers will rush u but she did not. Pretty sure she was the owner so everything was perfect. My drink was refreshing and light. Just what I wanted. And had a special little bubble on top. Not a huge bar menu or any top shelf but a good selection to keep u happy and tipsy!! The food was well prepared and tasty but the portion could have been a bit bigger for the price and because it was an appetizer for sharing. I let my friend have it since I wasn't too hungry anyway. Easily one person size. All in all a hidden cute place in tavares worth checking out. There's not enough love for this little town so come visit and enjoy. read more

Wow! We walked by here almost a year ago and swore we would pop in. Little did we know, our boat would break down and it would take until now to get to go back to Tavares again. So glad we made the trip! The Argonaut is well decorated like the inside of a spacious submarine, with manholes looking into a coral reef at a lot of the tables. The menu boasts bar snacks and pre-fixed cocktails, including a delicious tiki drink menu with fun glasses! Service is fast and kind. We can't wait to go back and sit in one of the two secluded booths that remind me of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. read more

Visiting family in Tavares and was looking for a place to go hang out with another couple in town. Saw the pictures and was intrigued. This place did not disappoint. The location was small and intimate. Service was great and friendly. Be aware that many of the wine cocktails leaned towards the sweet side which the husbands enjoyedI I was very impressed by the Spanish wine + coke mix! Who would have thought this would taste good! I leaned more towards the dry red side and very much enjoyed the quantum leap cab. The appetizers were surprisingly tasty and all seems like they were made fresh. The lighting and jazzy music were fitting and wrested a great atmosphere. This will definitely be the go to place when we come back for another visit. read more

This place gets five stars just for the cool factor! It's a little intimidating to open the door because you can't see anything from outside. Once you enter you realize immediately that you are in a very unique environment. Very limited menu but what we tried was good. Certainly designed to be where the cool people hang lol. Was excited to try this spot and it did not disappoint! Gives you an intimate lounge feel with a nautical theme. Great for date night, girl's night or even just a couple of friends wanting to get together and not get drowned by loud music. My friend and I ordered the charcuterie board and glasses of Prosecco and Sav Blanc. The experience was unique and the bartenders were very attentive! Very nice, service, and atmosphere was perfect . Third time going in makes for a really nice place to finish your evening off.

What a fun experience! My husband and I came here for a chill date night, and this was such a wonderful spot! We tried the Abyss which comes bubbling in a beaker, and not only was the presentation so fun, it tasted great too! We also tried a beer on tap each so we could watch them reverse fill. For food we tried the Black and White Chips which were a perfect snack pairing with our drinks. The theming here is unmatched, and everything was delicious! Daniel made our experience even more enjoyable. He sat down next to us and told us the story of the Argonaut, and was so personable in every way. I want to bring all my friends here! Upscale, cool new place to have a drink in Tavares. Very dark inside and decorated with a submarine/under water feel. Comfortable seating with interesting wine and beer concoctions, served in creative ways. (No liquor). Good spot for a drinks date. Great service. I've been here twice now and to their awesome sister company coffee shop "The Nautical" (also great) and I love this place! It is a beer and wine bar which I don't usually like but they are more than that. The atmosphere is awesome as everyone says and the service is always great. The bar tender Danielle is so personable and great at giving recommendations. I love their selection and creativity with the wines. Great prices for drinks imo. Love the beer cheese and pretzel small plate. I wish they had more options or a few more "average" options for appetizers but I'll settle for the pretzels haha. Totally recommend this place! read more
