Went again for burlesque show night. It was a fun and different experience. We drank wine and ordered several appetizers. This is a lovely and unique spot. Can't wait to try their new restaurant a couple doors down.

We went here with our siblings that live in Florida. They recommended this place as one of their favorite locations. It's different because you're in what appears to be a submarine and damn does it feel like it as well. You are so damn tight in this place and it's small. We sat down and got waited on immediately. I wasn't in a beer mood and ordered some wine instead. The bartender was down to earth. She was the best of the bartenders out there. We did selfies when my wife went to the bathroom and she was such a good sport because she got involved in the pics. Ran into my siblings friends and we got to talking about wine and beer. Good location, good place to come and have drinks. Love this place. Good Stop.

Wow! We walked by here almost a year ago and swore we would pop in. Little did we know, our boat would break down and it would take until now to get to go back to Tavares again. So glad we made the trip! The Argonaut is well decorated like the inside of a spacious submarine, with manholes looking into a coral reef at a lot of the tables. The menu boasts bar snacks and pre-fixed cocktails, including a delicious tiki drink menu with fun glasses! Service is fast and kind. We can't wait to go back and sit in one of the two secluded booths that remind me of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Such a fun experience and the drinks were so fun and delicious! We were seated in the VIP SECTION BEHIND THE VELVET ROPES! So fun and the owner took our orders without writing anything down - so sweet and smart! The atmosphere is very cool and unique! Loved it!

Very cute speakeasy vibe with a nautical / submarine look to it. The homemade sangria soooo refreshing, all the drinks are pretty unique. Nice presentation, the mixologist / owner Hilary was delightful very well spoken and gracious The cheese and cracker plate very tasty. I would come back again.

Awesome little place for a drink. Really cool atmosphere inside. Small drink menu but the specialties were very good. Just a fun place to hang out. Friendly staff, too.

Visiting family in Tavares and was looking for a place to go hang out with another couple in town. Saw the pictures and was intrigued. This place did not disappoint. The location was small and intimate. Service was great and friendly. Be aware that many of the wine cocktails leaned towards the sweet side which the husbands enjoyedI I was very impressed by the Spanish wine + coke mix! Who would have thought this would taste good! I leaned more towards the dry red side and very much enjoyed the quantum leap cab. The appetizers were surprisingly tasty and all seems like they were made fresh. The lighting and jazzy music were fitting and wrested a great atmosphere. This will definitely be the go to place when we come back for another visit.

This place gets five stars just for the cool factor! It's a little intimidating to open the door because you can't see anything from outside. Once you enter you realize immediately that you are in a very unique environment. Very limited menu but what we tried was good. Certainly designed to be where the cool people hang lol. We'll be back

Unique experience with a fun submarine theme. The menu is small, but everything we tried was good. The bartender was very accommodating

Bartender was nice, the server was terrible. Took 40 minutes to get our drinks. Won't go back.

Very limited options. A place for tourists to get a specialty drink in a funky cup. Interesting family history.

I struggled with how to start this review, not for any bad reason, but because from the second I…read morewalked in, everything was excellent. The decor, the service, the food, the wine, all impeccable, fun, and quirky in the best way. The setup is very odd, seems like a wine bar you could find in a mall, but it's cute and endearing immediately upon entering. The nice woman inside the bar took my order quickly and politely ignored how awkward I am. I was asked if I was opting in to the wine tasting so OF COURSE I said yes, and was treated to a vast array of the best wines I've tasted in a long time, along with complimentary cheese and crackers. I got the antipasto plate which was prepared by a chef with a bedazzled headband the appeared to have wandered in looking for the Doobie Brothers concert, and while the antipasto wasn't anything crazy it was very well priced. The house cabernet was also a perfect dry red and well worth the price. My main was a muffeleta which was perfect. Warm and salty and every flavor shined through and paired perfectly with my dry wine. Everything about this place is warm and cozy. Even the ambient music is at the perfect volume; loud enough to break the silence, quiet enough to chitchat. This would be a wonderful place to bring a first date to make them think you're way more cultures than you really are. Great wine, great service, great ambiance, and great food. This is one of the friendliest most inviting places I've ever had the joy of visiting, highest of recommendations; I know it's out of the way, but well worth the stop.

Five stars, though that hardly captures the vintage of this place…read more From the moment you step inside, it feels like an uncorking--there's that soft release of the day, a subtle pop of tension giving way to warmth. The room breathes. Conversation aerates. You settle in the way a good bottle opens up after a moment in the glass. The food has depth, the kind that suggests it's been allowed to develop properly. Nothing rushed. Nothing overworked. Homestyle dishes arrive layered and generous, as if they've been patiently aged rather than assembled. There's structure to the menu--comfort as the body, flavor as the finish--and it lingers in the best way. The service pours easy and steady. Attentive without overwhelming, like a thoughtful decant that lets everything open naturally. Recommendations come with care, never pretense. You feel guided, not sold to. And then there's the crowd--the true terroir of the place. Warm, grounded, unassuming. Neighbors, first dates, old friends--each table adding its own note to the atmosphere. By the end of the night, the whole room feels blended, balanced, harmonious. Some establishments chase trends. This one feels like a good vintage--crafted with intention, allowed to mature, and shared generously. You don't just visit. You savor.
