On our last night in Florida we went to Bru Tap House with the family. We ordered food next door at BTW. Wish I would have taken photos of my tacos because those were damn delicious. I'll save the rest of my comments for their review. As for Bru, they have a wide selection of beers on tap, and some excellent sours from various breweries. I know with tap houses their draft list rotates frequently so be sure to check their menu for the latest beers on tap. They do have a variety of themed nights as well- if you're into games and whatnot. It seems like a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy a few drinks. read more

Attended their Brutoberfest event. Great breweries and a fun event. Food was ok. A lot of work went into this. Dissapointed in the VIP experience though. The shirts were great and early entrance worth the money but it was advertised as an hour early and by 2:30, they let everyone in. I didn't feel like I got much special for the extra price. The half hour we did have was a great opportunity to talk to the Brewery staff and at this event, the people pouring the beer were actually from the brewery which often isn't the case. Just wish we had the time to make it all the way around as we should have. read more

I have only been the one time but will definitely stop by again next time I am driving through town. This is a great place for a beer, nice selection of maybe like 30 or so. I remember thinking that their walls were pretty cool looking, and there was a small stage for possible performances/stand-up comedy(?) (I'm not sure, nothing was going on the day I visited). Nice outdoor seating area, and a few games you can play with your kids. The service was good, pretty basic. I can't remember the IPA I tried, but it was tasty... I always enjoy the Sweet Baby Jesus Porter... as I mentioned, plenty of beers on tap to choose from. Next time I am in Taveres, I will be getting a flight from these guys! read more

I can see why this place was so well rated. It was a fun and comfortable spot to hang out in and get a few beers. I went on a Saturday around lunchtime and it was pretty dead.. Seems like a good place to go with a large group as they have lots of big tables. There are also some tables outside. The bar was good for me, it had usb charging! Bartender (Esther?) was great! Gave suggestions, was constantly checking on everyone in the place, as well as cleaning. A hard worker for sure. They offer food from the BTW restaurant next door, apparently owned by the same people. It was very convenient to place an order and pay on their website and then they bring it right to you in a to-go container. The only negative is that its kind of in a random area with not a lot around it. Like there is a public park and a few other local restaurants, but nowhere that looked as good. Not a place where I would want to go and walk to a second place. Bru is the destination in my opinion, glad I found them on Yelp! read more

We were looking for a place to get a craft beer and The Bru Tap House seemed to fit the bill. They did in fact have a nice selection of beer both on tap and in cans and bottles. We were hoping for some local atmosphere as well. There wasn't much going on here other than the beer. There aren't any televisions to watch. There is food next door at BTW. We didn't sample the food. They have a patio but it only has a view of the parking lot. We sat at the bar and the bar tender made sure our glasses didn't sit empty but there wasn't much interaction beyond that. Ok place for beer but that's it. read more

Nice selection of craft brews, unfortunately they do not serve food. The atmosphere is pleasant but with a band, you feel the sound and it's overwhelming as the acoustics suck. I believe that could be simply solved by simply turning down the volume. It's quite cacophonous and irritating. They do allow food from nearby restaurants though and they deliver. Idk what's up the bartender , but he is going ver the top ,argumentative and hyperactive. The place has potential, I will give it another chance in a few months time. read more

Not only does this bar make me feel like I'm at my home drinking, the women's bathroom is stocked. Perfume, lotion, tampons, pads and mints...what brewery has that?! They play great music, American ninja warrior and let you bring in outside food. They have board games and the coolest bartenders. I love this place! read more

You kinda feel like you are hanging out at home here, the feel is very inviting, every table, including the bar, has table games to play with your friends, they have things happening every night to keep you entertained, they have a large selection of draft beers, some on rotation so you get to frequently try different things. The staff are friendly, and seem genuinely happy you are there, and quickly remember your name. I have been here several times and always look forward to coming here and ordering a cold beer. They also serve wine for you non beer drinkers, but no alcohol. They have no food, just potato chips, but you can bring food in, and I have seen some order pizza from a local pizza joint. This is the best beer place you may ever find. The taps do rotate a lot but you'll always find something perfect for your palate. The thirty taps always have every flavor imaginable, from Peanut Butter Porters to Guava Cream Ale to hoppy IPAs and back again. You could make a liquid meal from the drafts and hit on all four food groups. It's a must-stop in downtown Tavares and across from City Hall, which makes it the go-to place between business errands. I honestly don't know where to start. We went a few days ago with a friend and sat for a few hours and had drinks. The bartender was excellent as was the selection of wines. Unfortunately, this previous time was when things got nasty. Previously, I wrote a one star review on their partner business, BTW (Burgers, Tacos, Waffles) due to the arrogance of the owner and unwillingness to satisfy. We get it, not everybody is trained on how to properly handle customers, but it is what it is. Following that, today when I went to the bar for the second time with a group of friends, it was an unfortunate addition to my previous experience at the partner business, BTW. After ordering (and paying) for our food, while we were sitting at our table drinking wine, the bartender came up and told us "The owner has talked to me and she really does not feel comfortable with you being here." We said "okay, that's no problem, we would just like the money we just paid back so that we can be on our way." So that our group could find somewhere else to eat, drink, and hang out. He said "That's no problem, it's on it's way back now." As we were sitting there figuring out where to head out to, the owner came up, threw two Togo boxes on our table, and left without saying a word. As we were walking out the door, the owner walked past us and, with that smug look on her face, said "So you got the point!" And kept on walking. I don't see why she couldn't just come talk to us herself at the table, rather than cause all of this immaturity. The customer service is just incredibly poor. I suppose that's why I never see more than 2 or 3 people in BTW at a given time. Needless to say, we never had the chance to enjoy Brü Tap House due to the owners lack of personability. read more

Great little brewery right near Lake Dora. They don't serve food, which means they can focus on having good beers, but it is still kind of a bummer. They do have take out menus behind the counter and a few (only three) will deliver to the brewery. It would be nice if there were more food options right close by! However, the main star, of course, are the many types of beer available. The employees we've come across seem to truly enjoy their job and introducing you to your new favorite brew. They will happily let you sample while you decide and do offer flights as well. You'll find many local beers on a list that's two full pages. The inside is basic- cement floor and large wooden picnic tables. There are TVs to watch and eat table has games to play while you drink.
