I don't know a lot of people who like root canals, I am one of them. I dreaded going, but was more than pleasantly surprised by Legacy Endodontics! The professional, well trained, and caring staff is a treasure. The procedure went will (with NO pain). Both the doctor and the dental assistant worked in concert. I chose this practice because of the excellent reviews, and clinically the doctor may be very knowledgeable. However, my experience with his bedside manner was unexpectedly negative. I came in concerned about a tooth issue and tried to engage positively and conversationally, but throughout the appointment I felt repeatedly corrected, talked down to, and shamed rather than educated. For example, when discussing when a crown had been replaced, I casually referred to it as "a couple years ago" and said it was done in 2022. Instead of simply clarifying the timeline, he repeatedly focused on correcting me ("that's four years") until I acknowledged the math. The interaction felt oddly adversarial and unnecessary. He also repeatedly described my mouth and gums in extremely negative terms ("filthy," "awful"), questioned whether I knew how to floss properly despite my explaining that I floss daily, and told me "you failed today" when I mentioned that I had never previously received concerning feedback about my hygiene from other dental professionals. Constructive feedback is absolutely fine and important. What was difficult was the tone. I left feeling embarrassed and emotionally rattled rather than supported or informed. I'm open to improving anything that genuinely needs attention, but patients can receive difficult information without being made to feel belittled. read more

Hirschman performed root canal. I think it important to leave feedback for others to consider concerning my experience and result from the procedure. At arrival for my appointment and during my procedure I could not help notice a women wondering around observing, not apparently part of the clinical staff, and seemingly being impatient. I believed her to be with the patient waiting in the procedural room next to mine. As my procedure concluded, I sensed Hirschman frustrated and rushed, left the room without communicating with me about what was happening or did happen, the assisting technician then communicated that she would be finishing up and that Hirschman would return with a final consultation. That did not happen, I could sense that he had moved on with the other patient waiting next door, the assisting technician returned saying she was instructed to follow up with me and to conclude the appointment. I left with a what turned out to be an incomplete root canal, a temporary filling which was removed and replaced by my dentist, a tooth that had continuous discomfort with pressure, and now the development of an infection as a result of an incomplete root canal for which I now will need have another proceedure done. Dr. Wade is a fantastic clinician as well as a caring human. I was referred for a re-do of a 15-year old root canal that had failed, and he quickly determined that I'd have to have a different procedure (surgical) to resolve the issue, and explained the reasoning behind that clearly. Typically he could not do that particular procedure same-day, but after seeing how much pain I was in as well as the fact I had a business trip scheduled two days later, he checked his schedule and took care of the surgery right away. I experienced zero pain during the procedure, and the recovery was far less painful than the infection leading up to it, and was brief. In a nutshell: as good of an experience as you're ever going to have with an endodontist! read more

One of the worst experiences ever, is what people usually say when they speak about their experience of having a root canal. However, I had the exact opposite experience when having my root canal done by Dr. H. His staff is uber professional, efficient, warm and caring, just like the doctor himself. The procedure itself did not last long and I was kept comfortable the entire time. Things were explained and went just as described. Can not give them a higher review. My daughter got a root canal yesterday and besides some mild discomfort she has felt great. She has an anxiety disorder and they were understanding and patient. If there was pain to be had, she would have experienced it! The procedure was relatively quick, besides the numbing shot which she reported was painful, the rest of the procedure was handled well. I was able to go into the procedure room with her and felt very confident with their practice. read more

I was referred here by my dentist for a root canal issue and they were wonderful. The staff was all great, they took care of my issue, and after each appointment, they called the next day to follow up and see how I was doing. Best encounter at a dentist ive ever had actually. Dr and staff where quick and efficient. Id been going rounds with this tooth for about a year the Dr explained what was wrong with my tooth and what he did to fix it. I will say that this was definitely one of my best dental experience of my lifetime. (And I've had quite a bit of work done) the whole atmosphere was comforting as well as the staff. I have had a TON of dental work done and I was nervous today about getting a root canal on a molar. However, from the front office, to the dental assistant, and Dr. Hirschman, the treatment was amazing. This isn't a procedure people look forward to, but I highly recommend Legacy Endo. They treated me kindly. They listened to my concerns and provided excellent service. I felt cared for and respected throughout the process which bodes well for this gal. Not the best experience... the dentist isn't very competent when it comes to nursing/ pregnant mothers. He provides advice that he isn't trained to give regarding nursing, like " just give the baby formula". This is a very insensitive thing to say to a mom who is breastfeeding, especially when the baby won't even take a bottle. I thought he was very insensitive to my needs and seemed like I was a bother after driving all the way to Golden from Aurora 3x for a procedure that wasn't emergent. His dental assistant seemed nice, during the little time I spent talking with her. The front desk receptionist, Michelle is not very pleasant. She is blunt in her responses and gives advice to clients as if she is the dentist herself. The dentist seems like he may do great work but overall I'm a little nervous to go back... read more

I had a wonderful experience, and am so relieved to have this done! This was my first root canal, and I was feeling anxious, but the procedure was very smooth and painless after the numbing shots were given. They worked well and I had only minor discomfort for a couple of hours after the procedure, then felt fine. Dr. Hirschman is very skilled and knowledgeable, and Charmaine and Michelle were wonderful, too! It is well worth the drive to Golden to have such competent, professional care. read more

Had a root canal two weeks ago and now I'm in worse pain than I started off with. Doctor wasn't very confident and kept saying "there's no guarantee..." He pierced with my root tip and was extremely rough. No numbing agent before the shot either. He's precisely the reason why people fear the dentists. He kept my mouth open with a rubber stopper for over an hour without any rest breaks and did ZERO communication with me throughout the procedure. Never had a dentist or any medical professional keep me in the dark like this and not considering the patient's fears or comforts. His assistant was super nice but the receptionist Michelle was rude each time I met her. read more
