My 4 year old is usually a little skeptical of new experiences, but all the teachers immediately made him feel so comfortable and he participated through the whole class. He even had so much fun, he immediately wanted to go back for another class. We took him to a different Taekwondo school before, but they were not able to do this. Legacy has set such high standards that it makes it difficult to take my kids elsewhere for any sort of classes. They are truly caring, kind and compassionate while being nicely strict. Most other extra curricular activities are very business like, miss a day you get 1 chance for a make up class and if not you lose it. My 5-yr old son started as a Tiny Tiger (3-6 yr. old class) about a year ago -- our family LOVES Legacy Martial Arts. In a short amount of time, Master Pesce and his team have helped my son to actually be able to control his body and sit still for a minute (quite an achievement for a boy whose nickname is wiggle worm!). The discipline and respect that the kids are taught in Tae Kwon Do is just as important to me as the physical aspect of it. My son continues to do very well at Legacy. He has reached blue belt, so he is climbing the ladder. More importantly, he is still learning discipline and some of the lessons are sticking. When he first started almost two years ago, he thought that learning how to kick meant he could kick daddy when he was mad. I told him that he could kick me as hard as he wanted and it would not hurt me. However, he would be in serious trouble if he even tried to kick me. Well, a couple years later, I no longer think his kicks could not hurt me. He has some serious power. OMG, I can't believe I never reviewed Legacy! My son started here in Kindergarten as a Tiny Tiger. He loved the kicking & punching and yelling! Ha! We had to stop temporarily a few times, but we always came back. As the kids move up in age, they are introduced to the ideas of responsibility, respect, honor and hard work. Master Pesce could be tough at times, but was also loving and encouraging too. Ali Pesce was always so kind, willing to listen and help in any way she could to provide support and encouragement. Master Pesce expects his students to work hard at Tae Kwon Do, but he also expects them to be good people. Be respectful of your parents and elders, treat your siblings right, keep yourself and your space clean, be honest, get good grades, etc. It wasn't always just about TKD, it was a lot of life lessons and good examples. They are wonderful at helping kids develop into respectful and responsible young adults. My son got his black belt here and I've never seen him work so hard for something! LIFE CHANGING!!! Now that I have your attention, you MUST know this is a perfect place for all ages! I strongly feel I was introduced to Andres and Ali by fate at this point... my daughter was having major struggles at school with other children taking advantage of her kindness... incidences kept happening over the past 2 years from items stolen from her lunch or her whole lunch box to being taken to the ground and put in a headlock by a little boy... and might I share, she is in 1st grade... I had been fighting with the school and the district for far too long. I had to find another solution as I was not getting help from anyone and she was miserable and clearly needed guidance I want just not able to provide for her. One call to Ali changed our lives. My daughter took an interest right away and over the course of a few months her sparkling personality started to come back. I was so impressed with the discipline and respect taught here. It's how I was raised to be honest you just don't see a lot of people raising kids this way anymore, which is sad! In addition to her own self coming back, she has always loved to dance at home but for some reason lacked the confidence to actually take a class. Since being at Legacy she now has stated she wants to take a dance class! Yay! Every instructor has shown such care and love for her and our family and I can't thank Legacy enough for what they have done!
