Updated schedule as of June 2025

My 4 year old is usually a little skeptical of new experiences, but all the teachers immediately made him feel so comfortable and he participated through the whole class. He even had so much fun, he immediately wanted to go back for another class. We took him to a different Taekwondo school before, but they were not able to do this. We also like that you can do a free trial class, followed by $99 two week trial that includes an uniform to make sure the kid likes it.

My son seemed to enjoy it but did not partake like the others since he was tired. There was no wiggle room on time since we were in the trial phase. Price is $200 a month with a 6 month commitment with initiation fee, $230 if you want to go month to month. Since it seemed like our kiddo wasn't quite into it yet and maybe too young, we didn't sign up. I will say though, the establishment is clean. The instructors are attentive and it really requires discipline for the kids. We would consider trying again at a later time but the price tag just seems too high.

He started as a 4-yo and will be turning 6 in a couple months. What he is learning through IL-DO Taekwondo are not just benefiting him at home, school or in his other sports, but in his overall development. He is learning more than Taekwondo, he is learning to be a good human. To date, we have recommended IL-DO to 5 of his friends at school and from his baseball team. All have joined and seem to be enjoying and growing with the program. I recommend you give your son or daughter a chance to experience this program and take the introductory class and see it for yourself.

When we went for a visit for our trial classes we saw a large group of kids with several instructors in a very organized, disciplined and fun class. The Grand Master and the Masters who teach the class are wonderful with the children. Our child loved the Talium and appreciate all they did to build the strong morals, skills and respect while in class. Unfortunately we moved out of the area and searching for another wonderful school like Talium. Highly recommend anyone looking for TKD for their children or themselves.

Sorry to say that I didn't find what I needed here. Here were a few things I noticed upon observation(Barranca Pkway location): Nobody said "Yes sir/No sir!". Not even the black belts unfortunately. As a former main instructor, a student should be able to respond like this to their instructor right away. Too much talking between students during class. Giving up before trying. Noticed a black belt girl wanting to skip a move because she wasn't confident enough after the instructor told her to go do it a few times. Not black belt attitude.. never give up, just TRY. Kihaps were not loud enough when demonstrating, even among black belts. Being a little louder is totally okay! Back to demonstrations in the black belt class, I did not see power in poomsae techniques either. Finally, it was random and strange to me to get asked to volunteer to help classes the first day I met the Master. As a customer, I only stated I wanted to train... not teach anyone due to my extreme burnout from it. I refused the Masters offer because I don't know them and their curriculum. Why would I want to volunteer?? Master Lee told me he had several instructors already to help, but shouldn't that be enough to cover each day of classes? Why ask me to volunteer? I saw no reason to be needed and had no reason to stay and watch longer, so I left.
