It has taken me over a year to write this review, so I apologize if specific details are lacking…read more In short, this is not a business you ever want to use, but one you will be incredibly grateful to find when you inevitably find yourself in need of their services.
I actually came to find them via my cat's veterinary provider years before and was so impressed with them during that time that I knew when the day came for my dog, I would reach out to them if they were a viable option. We ended up moving further away between these events, but after calling around and searching for providers of similar services, there just wasn't anyone able to offer what they could. We ended up driving 2.5 hours to have them perform the euthanasia as well as the cremation. They were incredibly kind and empathic during such a trying time, and I will forever be appreciative of the care they showed to us and our boy.
Previously, my experience had only been with their cremation service that my cat's vet had actually lined up, so I only found out about their facility after we received her ashes. Learning about their aquamation process and seeing all the thoughtful touches they included for a reasonable price, I was blown away. Her gift bag included a beautiful wooden box with flower carvings, a name plate, the cremation tag along with her microchip, and a plaster ornament of her paw print. They also included an envelope with hair/whisker clippings and some seeds to plant in remembrance. Everything was packaged with great care, and all of this was provided without us even knowing it was an option. I found it to be very thoughtful and comforting during such a heartbreaking time for our family.
Fast forward a few years later, and when the time was nearing for my beloved dog to cross the rainbow bridge, we tried finding providers closer to home that could help. Many were unable to get us in or were rather jaded/ crass(?) about the process. It did not sit well with me. Anyway, I called Yadkin Valley early Monday morning and explained our situation. They were understanding and offered to work us in when we were ready. Their facility was beautiful, and being able to have the service provided outside in their lovely garden area was healing for us all. It did feel a bit more rushed than I had hoped for, but that was in part to having to do all the paperwork and decisions beforehand while the vet team was waiting outside. They had stayed late to work us in that day. Looking back, I would've asked for a little more time alone, but all in all, they provided a compassionate and peaceful passing for our best friend. They handled all of the arrangements from that point forward, and we were able to pick up the ashes about a week later.
The chapel area was so sweet, and we spent some time there before leaving. It even had beautiful stained glass windows featuring animals. The fact that someone put so much thought and effort into a business like this is truly touching, and I couldn't recommend them more. I hope to not need their services any time soon, but if I am still within driving distance, they will be the first I call. Thank you, Yadkin Valley Pet Funeral Services, for all that you do. It really brings comfort to those who are grieving the loss of their family members, and we couldn't possibly thank you enough for that.
