After "getting the lead out" at nearby Applied Ballistics, the family was hungry, so we stopped in for a quick dinner. We started with the "Fries Americana" which had seasoned, well-done fries (our favorite) covered in lots of melted cheddar, topped with fresh diced green onions and really good smoked chopped bacon. These were delicious, and a much better quality than the typical bar-food cheese fries. I had fried catfish which was fresh, nicely seasoned and not overly battered. My husband's chicken caliente sandwich featured a surprisingly moist fried chicken breast dipped in a spicy buffalo sauce, with pepper jack cheese. My son's mexican burger was also a hit, with a heavy hand to the sliced jalapenos that made his brow sweat. Service was well-paced and friendly. The place is very family-friendly even though it's a bar (smoking is only allowed on the outside patio, and this is the only Hunter's Pub location that allows kids). For a basi American-fare bar, this place was pretty darned good. If it was closer to home, I'm sure we'd be regular visitors. As it is, we'll probably make a point of stopping in next time we head to the shooting range. read more

My family met up here for a late dinner last week. The food was delicious- I had the club sandwich with tomato soup. The only thing that made this trip not exactly pleasurable was our waitress. I've lived in this area for 20 plus years and have been a long time customer of Hunters. Always good food, always good service. This review is based on the last few visits at Legacy. Each one disappointing. Once we sat down and were handed menus that must have been drenched in beer the night before, they were sticky and my feet we're sticking to the floor. On another visit my wife and I stopped in and it was too cold by the window so we were moved to a booth with a broken table that leaned 2 inches. Today I took my daughter there with her husband and son and they put us in one of the tiny booths near the kitchen and low and behold, another sticky table. Not to mention NO elbow room. Legacy Pub is renamed from Hunters Pub. Same delicious food and friendly service as before. I like the Sinful - prime rib sandwich with au jus and great homemade chips. I usually get it without the bread and with creamy horseradish sauce. They have great apps and several tv's for sports. Not as noisy as most sports bars. read more

The menu has a good variety of choices - salads, sandwiches, wraps, apps, some Mexican dishes and a dinner menu that includes pastas - but there are not any standouts. Service is inconsistent and rarely friendly or attentive. I decided to give it another try and ordered carry out. When I got home, I noticed my order was wrong. I absolutely loved my experience tonight. The service was prompt and amazing. The vegan choices are SUPERB! I can't say this enough. The fact that my house salad came right the first time without cheese was so nice. The vegan just dressings are such a great choice. I had the legacy primavera and it was delicious! Food is good here from past experiences, but we will never go again. We were asked to wait outside until a table was ready. No big deal, it was a nice day. We witnessed 5 groups or individuals go in after us and only 2 of them left with pickup orders. I walked around back and saw two of the groups after us seated and the third must have been seated before us as well. No one could have walked 20 steps to get and seat us first, huh? Rude af. Great food most of the time. I ordered the NEW chicken burrito and it tasted like unseasoned canned chicken wrapped in an oversized shell (6") that's been sitting out for 15 minutes. I normally don't complain but I told the waiter anyways. He asked if I wanted another one. I replied I'm sure the next will taste the same no thanks. They seem to have more bourbon choices than anywhere else. The food's good too but can be over-battered and/or over-salted. Would I eat there if they didn't have the bourbon choices? Probably not. Recently, they've had some bartenders pouring pretty short. Since I drink on the rocks, it's pretty easy to tell. Fortunately, some still pour correctly. Prices are good here. The food came super fast, but I suspect it was because the fries had been pre cooked at least 15 minutes before they got to our table. The wife and I visited the Hunter's Pub on a Monday evening for dinner with a group of 6. It's a great pub and bar-like atmosphere. I had the triple queso burger (cooked perfectly medium) with fries and my wife had the Tyrie Alfredo and both were absolutely delicious. Drafts were $1 off, and both beers I consumed were ice cold and tasted great. For the price, it's one of the best burgers in Lafayette in my opinion. Our waitress was a little short and not so bubbly as the atmosphere, hence the 4 stars. I would recommend and we will definitely be back for a visit. read more

I do not go often to Hunter's Pub, due to the fact that I can't take my kids. If we get their food, it's a pickup order. We love the Pub Pasta Salad with ranch dressing. It is dreamy! We used to live on the west side so frequented there a lot. The south side location is extremely heavy on the veg and really light on the chicken on the salad though. I am a bit disappointed comparing the two locations. The service is okay. If you have a large group, the service is better and servers pay more attention to needs of the table. However, when it's just me and a friend, it takes forever for servers to notice us to take our order, our drinks sit empty for a long time, and the staff seems to be not very knowledgeable about the food. I would prefer a more professional wait staff. The food makes up for the lack of service though and I recommend getting your order to go. read more

Been here several times over the last couple of years, usually during football season. The food is always tasty, served hot, and the service is good, along with plenty of variety in menu and drinks. The establishment and restrooms have been unfailingly clean. Love the Fish 'n Chips and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Many TVs for you sports buffs, but not so loud that you can't chat with friends or hear yourself think, like some of the wing places I used to frequent for games. A coworker recommended the South side location and I'm glad I listened. My husband and I stopped by for dinner last night. Our waitress was very nice and welcoming. Got started with drinks...a beer for my husband and a Mrs. Mosley for me. Had no idea what I was ordering, but it was fruity and delicious. My husband and I ordered the exact same thing, bacon cheeseburgers with a side of onion rings. Best burger we've had in a long time. My silly husband judges restaurants on the lettuce they use. I would have given them no stars if that was an option. This is the worst customer service I have EVER SEEN! I own a business and take customers here all the time. This place overcharged our card by over $120.00 and they refused to refund the money.. Called them multiple times to speak to a manager or owner, and they refused to get on the phone to talk to me. They relayed things to a waitress and had her tell me over the phone why we wouldnt be getting our money back. Total DISGRACE, the food wasn't even that good. We will never be back. They just lost a lot more than $120.00 + because our biweekly business meetings will now be held eslewhere. read more

I took my wife & kids there for lunch on Sunday. This place is terrible! The food was ok but the service is unbelievable. 2 servers saw my wife spill her drink on the table. One of them said "she'll be right over", meaning our server, then she walked away. Our server continued entering a order in on the computer and then SHE WALKED AWAY! Both servers had towels on them and at their serving station. Our server and the server working the section beside us acted as if neither had EVER had ANY training. Both were making mistakes like, filling glasses on the table instead of picking up the glass to fill it away from the customer., "auctioning off food", walking by tables and asking if everything was good without actually stopping to see if anyone needed anything and NEVER doing any pre-busing. I did NOT ask to speak with a manager because 1) I don't think there was on duty and 2) I'd rather they loose my business because obviously the owner doesn't care. If there is a front-of-the-house manager, they should be fired immediately! Just another local business with NO attention to detail and no concept of customer service. read more
