Prime rib and New York Strip with steamed veggies and baked potatoes!
    Brandy H.

My husband and I just tried Treece's for the first time. Our server Ashley was amazing! She was friendly, very attentive and quick with her service. My husband got the strip and I got the prime rib and they were both cooked perfectly. It's a 45 minute drive from our house, but well worth it!

    Food Poisoning on 1/24/24

Update 2024: Food Poisoning on 1/24/24....check your mayo. Thanks yall! Throwing up my tenderloin was a really fun adventure. Gladly, never coming back. Don't waste your money, folks--just drive to Lafayette for countless options that won't get you sick. Don't say you weren't warned. Rossville's renowned restaurant. Service is hit or miss, like the menu. As a life-long resident I've had a fair share of visits, yet almost every time I visit I leave the place feeling like it's lacking something. Perhaps it's a need for a more original menu with some creativity. Or perhaps the need for less deep fried options. Fortunately, the town now provides several other options for which I would rather frequent. The only positive they've added to the place is that it doesn't wreak of cigarette smoke any more. Gary is the only star.

    Pork Tenderloin and fried mushrooms

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. I wanted a pork tenderloin sandwich, it's Indiana afterall and when I'm back I eat all of these sandwiches I can get. I haven't been here since I was a teenager. The place had several families young and old, and lots of seating and booths. Very quaint hometown-ish dining room. It's right on the main street and there is some FREE street parking available. This place is also known for their catfish so thought I'd get an order to go and share with my husband later. The sandwich was just ok, it wasn't as crispy as I expected. The meat was also thick.... not the pounded out thin meat I was expecting. The breading and the sandwich itself kinda reminded me of a McChicken from McDonald's, only it was pork. Although I took the catfish home, I tore off a piece to try it while it was still fresh and hot. The breading was very different. It wasn't the salt and pepper breading I've had other places. Instead it was maybe corn meal ? I was AMAZED at all the options of fish you can order here. Not sure if it's the same breading used. They have Trout, Flounder, Coho Salmon, Blue Gill (I had no idea you could eat those, when fishing Dad always threw them back !), shrimp, and clam strips. My server was nice. I'd definately come back.

Breaded tenderloins and onion rings were good but I have had better. The tenderloin was a little thicker than I like and it wasn't as tender as it could have been. Only one server was working for the Saturday mid afternoon lunch. Nice lady but I had to ask for a straw for my tea and she forgot the sides I ordered for my tenderloin (lettuce, onions, pickles and tomatoes). Drink prices were high but I had three free refills. The atmosphere is laid back small town. There is a large bar area separated from a large family dining area. The remodeling is nice and the restaurant is very clean. They are famous for their catfish dinners but unfortunately I'm not a fan of catfish. Next time I go back I'll update the review and have something different. Hopefully they will get more stars!

Fast friendly service. The catfish was excellent! I was pleasantly surprised but curious that the place wasn't busier.

It's okay. The food kind of reminds me of a hospital cafeteria but the staff is great! Very friendly and welcoming.

They come with steak fries, and I have to get the vinegar slaw. It's a must for me if you like a sweet and sour slaw you will love it. I've gotten the ribeye before and they are so tender. Can't wait to get another one.And there catfish is a favorite among guest. They even have specials every night. And it's not unusual to see the owner helping out. We were celebrating our anniversary so it was a special night for us. Our waitress was super but stretched thin so she wasn't as attentive as she probably was on another night. This is a very upscale place. Decor and service reflect that. Good old fashioned steakhouse vibe. Oysters Rockafeller were perfect. Bread was fresh and absolutely delicious. He had American Wagyu Ribeye. I had Steak Oscar. Both were cooked appropriately. Maybe slightly under seasoned as we both added salt which is not typical for us. The Old Fashioned was really good and they had a wide selection of wine/beer and a handful of specialty cocktails. Our 2nd round of drinks was comped due to slow service at the bar and dessert was on the house for our anniversary which we really appreciated. We will definitely go back and try other things on the menu. Our steaks were good but I wouldn't say they were worth the price. $110 for his and $80ish for my Oscar. It was a filet with truffled hollandaise sauce and a scant amount of King Crab. They no longer serve King Crab due to the cost. Strange. If we would pay $110 for a steak why wouldn't we pay for King Crab due but that was a minor detail. I wouldn't say have preferred more crab...give me snow crab. The dessert was delightful. Baked Alaska served table side with plenty of rum. Thank you for making us feel valued and special!

Last time I got the lobster bisque and it may have been the best I've ever had. I ordered it again and it was terrible. Just terrible. Tasted kind of bitter and was much too dark for a lobster bisque. The side dishes are enormous and they were all ok. The charred broccoli is an entire stalk thrown on a grill. Char on outside, raw on inside. Lovely. My American Wagyu bone-in strip was good, though it tasted no different than prime meat and did cost $95. I would have hoped for better than just 'good'. Family enjoyed most items. I sampled the wedge and really liked that. Probably best part of the meal. Oysters were excellent. Drinks are always good here. They have upgraded their rum list and have some high quality ones now. That's great! Service is always top notch. I will definitely be back for happy hours. The food at this restaurant is good. But when 2 adults and 3 kids drop $800 on a meal, it really ought to be fantastic, not just good.
