Everyone taught us something new. There were a lot of high belts. Never seen so many brown and black belts for an open mat. They were the majority. Usually, you will be lucky to find a few. The facility looks like it was renovated recently and looked very clean and nice. The bathrooms were nice with showers and lockers. They had a water filling station, which was especially awesome. Best of all, we met someone from a previous open mat that goes here. Small world! Definitely recommend if you are in the area and looking for a solid place to train.

Everyone here is treated like family with jiu jitsu as a common goal. BTW...Master Mario was recently awarded his coral belt signifying over 30 years as a teaching blackbelt. He still teaches the majority of the classes....this includes kids, adults and women and is usually at the academy 6 days a week...You'd be hard pressed to find a coral belt rolling with kids. He cares about his students.
