The methodology required, by law to notify another party that you wish to have your dispute decided via the court system (largely a cat and mouse game) isn't as easy as it may appear, but its quite critical in the legal sense of the word....even for a small claims case. The importance of proper, legal process-service was driven home to me while I was in small claims court; the judge there sent another plaintiff back to "square one" for improper, self guided process service which deemed their day in court a non-starter. Really made me glad I selected Rancho Attorney Services to handle that critical element in this process, and it was money well spent (and that which was included in my victory judgement meaning the defendant ultimately ends up paying it anyway!) In short I hope to not need to use them again...ever. But if I DO need the court to intervene in something for me, I WILL use Rancho Attorney Services again.

On the morning of the hearing, I contacted the company to obtain the status of service and any service attempt information. Because the court required detailed information regarding service attempts, a court clerk also contacted the company seeking the dates and times of any attempts. At that time, the requested information was not provided. My hearing proceeded without the service information, and the matter was concluded shortly thereafter due to the lack of completed service. Several hours later, at approximately 12:27 PM on March 9, 2026, after the hearing had already ended, the company sent a report containing alleged service attempts from March 5 through March 8. My concern is not simply whether service attempts were made. My concern is that the information was not made available before the hearing, when it was actually needed. As a result, the service had no practical value to me at the time of the court proceeding. After I disputed the charge with my credit card issuer, the company continued to send invoices and informed me that finance charges would accumulate and that the account may eventually be sent to collections.
