Julie Ann Oldham was so friendly and helpful. This just made me more excited about picking this place. My family and I spent days looking at different venues around Charleston. My mother-in-law suggested Charles Towne Landing. I wasn't quite sold on the idea of a park, until we started to drive threw the magnificent entrance of beautiful oak trees filled with Spanish moss. It was something out of a fairy tale. I hadn't even seen the house yet and I knew this was the place. The Avenue of Oaks was just a bonus. I now had my ceremony location and reception. As soon as I saw the photos of Legare Waring House, I knew I had to be married there. The staff are friendly and helpful and the venue is spectacular. My wedding was a destination for me and my guests who came from all over the United States. Everyone was thrilled with the venue. Be prepared to spend some money on rentals, catering and entertainment. This is not a one-stop-shop venue, but that is part of the beauty of it. You can customize your event however you like! I absolutely recommend a wedding coordinator if you book this venue. It's imperative that someone is there the whole day of the event to coordinate vendors and keep you on schedule. I had my wedding at Legare and it was the most beautiful venue imaginable. My husband and I toured a lot of different locations in Charleston and we ultimately picked Legare because it is breathtaking but also because Julie Ann was amazing. She was so warm and helpful during the tour. We live in Chicago and didn't return to Charleston at all between the time we visited to pick a venue and the wedding. Julie Ann and her team were really accessible and helpful throughout the planning process. I loved working with them and would highly recommend this as a wedding venue. Our guests said they felt like they were in a movie because the natural scenery is so gorgeous. We had the ceremony in the avenue of oaks and then had cocktail hour by the pond.
