Overall, I love this place. The atmosphere is modern but comfortable. The service is exceptional, and the coffee is simple and delicious. The way coffee should be. However, given the fact that the menu is quite small and very straightforward, I was disappointed to see that Legend does not use fresh products for their smoothies. This place is a pretty upscale comic store. I haven't been in as much as I would like, but I hope to correct that soon.

Coffee is good, but let's be real who goes to a comic book store to drink coffee :) jk. I absolutely freaking love this place and the crowd there is awesome. The coffee here is amazing, very flavorful and strong. Plus, the baristas make incredible mixed coffee drinks with fun comic names. The phosphate drinks are a great alternative to pop if you're feeling adventurous, too. The pastries are fresh every morning, and a definite pick me up. Probably my favorite place to study outside of school. The cafe is very spacious, clean and fairly well-lit (lots of sunlight if you sit by the large windows). I usually get iced green tea and it comes with one free refill. When we get bored and need a study break, we just walk 10 feet over to the comic book store and browse for a bit :D read more

I've had better coffee, but the shop has a great atmosphere and their phosphate sodas are excellent. I did buy a graphic novel there and enjoyed it while sitting in the café area. I also like how they set aside items for customers who come in on a regular basis. They're friendly as well. I've visited a few times and I'll definitely be coming back. read more

This place is an Omaha gem. It won a freaking Eisner Award! And the only reason I know what that is is because Legends got me into comic books almost single handedly. There are no archetypal, condescending "comic book nerds" working here, only friendly people who love comics and clearly want to spread and share that passion. Coffee isn't bad either. Something about that hardwood floor and coffee smell in there is addictive. This place makes me want to have kids just so I can take them here and buy them cool comics and make them excited comic book people. And how many places in Omaha can claim to make you "want to have kids"?! read more

I love this place. I live about a block away and I try to make it over at least 1x a week. The staff is really knowledgeable and very helpful. I have gotten some great recommendations and have no problem finding my favorite comics. I love the attached coffee shop. It's a great place to sit and study or read a new graphic novel. Beyond disappointing experience this time. I TRY to support local businesses instead of buying everything thing off of Amazon. There was a kerfuffle with my gift card. The amount was put on points instead of $. I live in Canada and had to come back here. They didn't honor the $ value. I still have the card but the hassle was not worth it. Not a good place to have a conversation or read your comic. The coffee space is dark, small and causes sound to carry. Even when your the only ones there it is typically quite loud because the staff talk relentlessly in the space, often the owner herself. It's close to my house, but, after a dozen plus visits, driving elsewhere is worth it. read more

The majority of comic book stores I go into possess only one of the following qualities: friendly employees, large selection, or attractive organization of merchandise. I've been to comics shops all over the country, heck I've been to comics shops on two continents. Legend is simply the best shop among them all. The interior is classy and well thought out, the selection of graphic novels and back issues are exhaustive, and the staff is great. More on that last bit: one of the issues I've had with comic shops over the years is that the staff acts too cool and isn't really helpful, it's like a special club rather than a business. Not so at Legend, they pride themselves in service and I believe everyone feels welcome. I hasten to add that this is especially true for my eight-year old, who has a 1000 questions, and to whom the staff is patient and good to--so, it isn't just the beautiful shop, it's also the good people. read more

Friendly staff and great seeing selection of trade paperbacks and comics. On new comic book days they are very good at getting enough comics to keep up with demand. Very rarely do they sell out of that weeks "hot" comic. The coffee here is also great, It will surely help you keep warm during the cold winter days. read more

Legend Coffee shop must not need any new business. We stopped in on our way home while on a walk. My husband stood outside with our dog while myself and one other person went in and stood at the counter to order. We stood there for over 5-7 minutes without being helped...not even a glance our way. Not to mention that 3 different employees walked passed us while we were standing at the counter waiting to be helped. We waited a few more minutes (while a longer line started to form) and eventually decided to leave after not ONE employee decided to take our order. The service was horrible!! Very disappointing since this would be our neighborhood coffee shop. I will NEVER return and I'll make sure to pass the word along to all others that I know (friends and neighbors). read more

I started going to Legend Comics because my favorite comic book store closed down. I was excited about the pull-file benefits and that they were willing to even pull variant covers for me, but after my latest experience, I'm very disappointed. I've never had a bad experience on the coffee side, but I'm never returning to the comic book side again. I tried to go into Legend Comics a while back to pick up some of my pull-file comics, but their computers were down and the employee apologized several times. I told him it was fine and that I'd come back. Then, I had some things come up in my personal life and couldn't pick up my comics for a while, so they cancelled my file. I was fine with that and all, and I understand why they had to, but when I went into the store and asked them what comics were put back they were extremely rude to me. They were accusing me of not coming in for a year when I haven't even had a pull-file that long. I tried to tell the employee what had happened and that I had previously picked up some of the comics on his "year long" list and that it hadn't been that long since I've been in. The employee there was basically telling me off and talking down to me because I hadn't been in for a while. Then another employee, maybe he was the manager which was hard to believe because of his attitude, was joining in on telling me off about not coming in to purchase the comics. I was nothing but nice to them, but they were horrible to me. They supposedly offer pull-file benefits, but when I asked if I was getting the percent-off deal they offer on back issues, they looked at each other and then told me it didn't apply. I have always received the percent-off deal, but they said I wasn't supposed to. So, I didn't even get the deal and I can't even believe I actually spent my money there, but I just wanted my comics and to get the hell out of there. I'm never going back. I've never been treated so poorly in a comic book shop in my life. read more
