Honestly, I have never worked with someone as amazing as Starr!…read more First off everyone worries about finances when looking for the right trainer---LA trainers can be so expensive! Looking around on all websites trying to find a budget friendly personal trainer for someone who is a full time employee and a full time student was hard. Then I found Starr. She has the lowest prices you can find around. Now to the important stuff.....When I first started training with Starr I never thought I would have the motivation I did to being as healthy as I am today. She pushed me to do so much on days I didn't even want to raise an arm. From day one she told me step by step everything we are going to be doing and what each exercise or move benefits. I went from wearing baggy t-shirts to being confident enough to show off my arms and wear shirts that are not 3 times big on me. Starr really cares about her clients. She does her best to make you feel comfortable, which isn't too bad considering for the most part it's just you and her so you don't feel the pressure of people around and staring or if you're doing something wrong. She makes the workouts work for you depending on what your body needs and your individual goals. Patient, understanding, kindhearted, motivating, and fun to work out with....all of these are the positive aspects of Starr and how she is towards all of her clients. Not to mention she can kick that punching bag!! (and teach you how to do it with ease as well). I was and am so excited to continue working with Starr on the multiple workouts and the kickboxing sessions!!!

I agree with other reviews that state that everyone is nice and welcoming. However, unfortunately,…read morethe quality of the studio has been declining for years. There is a very high turnover of instructors. Excellent instructors tend to stay for a while and then leave, while many of the newer instructors are not as good. Their classes are often too easy, instructions are not always clear, and some classes finish before the full 50 minutes. There is also a lack of consistency in the level and content of the classes. At times, it seems that instructors are teaching what they know rather than necessarily teaching Pilates. The Friday and weekend schedule has also been reduced significantly. Classes are sometimes canceled at the last minute, and Cardio Sculpt classes have been reduced to a minimum. Some instructors who have been there for a while rarely change their exercise routines, making their classes very repetitive. In contrast, the excellent instructors follow the intended structure and difficulty of the class, vary the exercises from class to class and week to week, provide clear and precise instructions, and allow an appropriate amount of stretching at the end without compromising the actual exercise time. Another issue is the lack of a constructive way for members to provide feedback. If management is genuinely interested in improving the studio, there should be an anonymous suggestion box or another easy, confidential way for members to provide both positive and negative feedback without feeling uncomfortable. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere is a definite positive, but the quality and consistency of the classes need significant improvement. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to address them.

I was seriously conflicted writing this review since I absolutely adored the trainers:…read moreprofessional, dedicated and hard-working but appalled by the management; making the decision easier to do so. We (my sister, friend and I) bought this deal on Groupon - unlimited 30Xpress classes for $19. Whoa! Considering that it normally costs $280+ for the same classes, what a steal! Like the old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it is." I agree. The management's communication (lack thereof) was jaw-dropping. We were able to work a deal with Renee, one of the awesome managers, so we can continue after the Groupon deal ended. First week into the newly paid verbal contract, which is considered valid in Texas, Dawn, one of the owners, called to inform that the deal was not valid and that they were not going to "eat the cost" since the deal was undervalued. A management staff member accepted the negotiated pricing and accepted payment for said service, yet she is calling us out implying that we were essentially "taking" sessions not paid for. After, the LOUD and heated conversation she had with my sister on the phone, which can be heard easily by anyone more than a few feet away, was very unprofessional. Why is she arguing and putting the blame on the client? Then, she informed us she would not give us a refund, SERVICES WERE NOT RENDERED, one week after the deal was made. We agreed that we would break the amount paid into weekly portions and pay that portion accordingly; she vehemently disagreed until she talked to her husband. She called a short time later after her husband agreed to offer the full refund and a week free of training. We contemplated going since the ordeal with the management made it uncomfortable but the trainers are awesome. Several days later, we went. Day 1, Boxing trainer, Vincent, was no longer an employee, so we can only work out with the other trainer, Terrence. Management did not inform that the trainer would be let go, so they agreed to bring him back so we can train with him for the week. We greatly appreciated that, especially when an employee called the evening before to ensure our schedule would remain the same as previously taken. Results: Trainers - awesome! Management - fail!

I cannot review on the actual class since I was not actually able to take the class…read more I purchase a 5 session deal from Living Social and today would have been my first class. However, I drive 15 miles only to have the instructor not show up. This class is only an hour long and was supposed to start at 8:30am and there were 5 of us waiting outside until around 9am. There was no note on the door or a response from either of the 2 phone numbers posted on the front of the door. I called the main phone number only to have an answering service take my name and number and tell me that some one will return my call. One of the gentleman waiting with us mentioned that the same thing happened to the Tuesday class and the instructor was a no show and they still have not heard back from the studio as to the reason for it. Their website requires a 24 hour advance notice for any cancelation. How about extending that courtesy to us too?

He knows what he is doing, pays attention, and genuinely wants the best for his clients. THE CORE gym is clean and has plenty of parking. When the previous gym shut abruptly, Brice had us up and running in the current gym basically overnight. Amazing. He prices his services to motivate you to go 3x a week. That may sound like a lot but it creates a routine. And that's GOOD. He pushes you in a "you can do this" way but is realistic if the weight is just too much. Brice balances the sessions so that your whole body gets a workout over the week. And he is big on stretching. He works hard to plan productive sessions where your time is valued. Not much on chitchat and no "lollygagging". Heather covers on certain days of the week; she is knowledgeable as well with a dry sense of humor. I highly recommend giving them a try. Your first workout is complimentary, I think, so really what do you have to lose? Just do it. It's time.
