While this was a hard course to be sure, which was beautifully maintained. The forward tees are just under 5400 yards which is rather long. The tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. The greens rolled true. There is definitely water and sand challenges beyond the length. I never found myself in the sand but did find the water on the long par 3s where you had to fly the water to reach the green. Carts had GPS. There were also beverage carts along the course. They have a really nice turn to get food and beverages if you choose. Your green fee includes a small range ball basket. They also have chipping and putting greens for practice. Ate here with my family last night, got a nice fireplace table. We all ordered something different and agreed all of our dishes were tasty but could have been great if they had been hotter, all of our dishes were I would say luke warm. Their special of the night was the Lemon Garlic chicken Penne, packed with great ingredients just not hot. $23.00 huge bowl could have fed 2. Daughter ordered the Butternut squash ravioli and loved it, awesome Maple cream sauce. Since neither of our meals came with garlic bread or anything we shared the Sliced Italian bread from appetizer menu and it filled the void for $6.00. My daughter had a super nummy cheeseburger with battered french fries. My son had the salmon with cheesy augratins and he said it was tasty. We finished with the gluten free chocolate cake that was delicious and moist. Would have given them another star had our food been served hot, we did not complain but wished I had, atmosphere and service was great, my granddaughter loved playing a few of the free arcade games off the entry. One of the most beautiful courses in the state and the course was in great shape! we played on Sunday after 2 where they have a special for 95 dollars with a cart. The course is definitely pricey but I would say it is worth the money. Will definitely be playing here as much as I can afford to and will try some food next time as well! Beautiful golf course and terrain. It's a challenging course but not overly so. The quality here is competitive with many of the private clubs in the Metro. It does get a tad pricey, but they have a premium product here. Excellent use of tall grasses around the property. Trees, water, hills...everything to offer tons of natural beauty. We grabbed dinner at the golf club and it was delicious. The sauce on my pasta was perfection! The service was attentive and fast. Our food came out in a timely fashion. I had a blackberry bourbon cocktail and it hit all the right notes. I ended the meal with a chocolate cake. I will be going back to try their desserts because they make them in house! read more

My golf buddies and I decided to play 36 holes on a Sunday, playing The Meadows at Mystic Lake in the morning and The Legends in the afternoon. Fortunately, we received the twilight rate from The Legends, so that brought our rounds down to $75 each (as compared to $76.50 at The Meadows in the morning.) My two-star review for The Legends is being generous, and is largely a reflection of the clubhouse, restaurant, and staff. As for the golf - this course was not in great shape and surely not worth $75 per round. The greens were very beat-up, full of ball marks and bumps, and just in general shaggy condition. The rest of the course was nothing special either, and surely not the same caliber as The Meadows - it just lacked the manicured feel, and instead seemed dried out and tired. It also didn't help that we waited on our first 5-6 holes before being able to play through the group in front of us. Needless to say, we won't be back to The Legends for golf. There are numerous courses in the Twin Cities that play for less than $60 and even less than $40 on twilight, which is really where The Legends should be given the conditions. If you're looking for a top-tier course in the southwest metro, go play The Meadows, not The Legends. read more

I had my wedding and wedding reception at Legends Golf Club and couldn't be more thrilled with the outstanding staff, service and location. Samantha, the coordinator is excellent. She is very energetic and made me feel like I was her only client, helping me every step of the way. Outdoor Area: We rented a tent and had our wedding outside on their lower terrace. It was beautiful and sat 200 people comfortably. Samantha and staff helped ensure we were on time, set up properly and that everything went as planned. We then had out cocktail hour out there, and the wait staff was amazing! Literally the second I finished walking down the isle in celebration, there was champagne waiting for my husband and I. How cute! Then, they staff immediately transformed the place, taking down 1/2 the chairs and immediately had servers walking around with champagne and beer for people. The bar ran smooth, with polite staff working hard. Indoor Space: Beautiful banquet room. Samantha and the Legends wait staff were quick and orderly with serving food, drinks and keeping everyone on schedule. Samantha checked in with me and my husband multiple times to make sure we were okay/if we needed anything. So helpful! We partied there all night. The bar/restaurant was open to the public, but we had zero problems with guests and golfers/community member mingling or going to the wrong places. In addition, Samantha let us take a golf cart out on the course to some of the beautiful holes. That was a nice touch to have additional pictures with different scenery/landscapes. She was there to be an extra person to assist the photographers, help fix my dress, hair, whatever needed to be done. For dinner, we had chicken, prime rib, vegetables (seasonal) and cheesy potatoes. Recently played here, and it has become my favorite public course in the Twin Cities. Better than Stoneridge (barely), better than Troy Burne, Rush Creek, Willingers, The Wilds, etc. Weekend twilight was very reasonable ($52 walking) also. The course was a great shape.It is tough and lots of trouble, but is not unfair. It mianders through marshs and woodlands that provide a great variety of holes With the exception of the 1st hole, there isn't a boring hole on the course. The par 3's really shine, including two 170-yarders that are all carry over water. Though I no longer live in the Twin Cities, the next time I visit, I will surely carve out time to play there again (assuming there is no snow on the ground). read more

Visited The Legends for dinner last Friday and had their blackened walleye. I've had other fish blackened before but never walleye so didn't know what to expect. It was absolutely one of the best things I've ever had! The rest of the meal was equally as good, as was the service. I'll more than likely be returning again this Friday. Had the Santa breakfast today with my wife and daughter. A wonderful kid friendly buffet with friendly staff that wished you a "Merry Christmas" when you walked in. Santa entered the restaurant yelling Ho Ho Ho getting all the kids attention. Santa set up was great. Kids grabbed a candy cane and were escorted to Santa. Santa took time and didn't hurry the kids asking what they wanted from Santa. Santa then gave each kid a gender specific gift wrapped up. To my surprise, these gifts were not your "Dollar Store" gifts. These were actual gifts that "Santa" would give your kids. Our daughter was so happy with her gift that she truly believed that he was "Santa". This was an awesome experience that we will make a tradition for years to come. Thanks to the staff for making this special and saying "Merry Christmas"! read more

Beautiful course. This is my favorite course in the South Metro. It is a good mix of challenging and less challenging holes. I would compare it on the same level of Stone Ridge, Rush Creek, or Chaska Town Course. The tee boxes from front to back are almost like playing different courses. The Blacks (second to last) are the most fun. The blues are the most commonly played. If you spray the ball around, expect to lose some balls in the fescue, water, and wooded areas. read more

Great looking course. Greens in good shape, fairways also. The issue is the bunkers. Yes, I know. Stay out of them....but. Why you do land in them, there is no sand for a proper bunker shot out. For instance, the #7 bunker. I ended up on the left green side bunker. Took my shot and hit dirt 1/2" under the surface of the sand. I raked around my spot and discovered than the entire bunker was 1/2" deep of sand with hard packed dirt under that. Not possible to make a quality bunker shot. Sand is cheap. Why is it this way? I can see skimping on other items, but sand? It's damn near free. If a quality course can't do a bunker right, I'll move to another course. I had booked a company meeting/golf outing for the following week for 8 and I canceled due to the poor conditions. No way my clients would put up with this. You lost me The Legends. I thought you were better than that. read more

Meticulously manicured and a genuinely tough but fair course. Clubhouse has excellent food and the staff throughout this place are great! Everyone is always pleasant and the atmosphere is fun. Worth every penny. read more
