I've golfed here a few times this summer, once as a fundraiser, once with family, and once as a vendor guest. The course is beautiful and well maintained. So green and lush. It's not an easy course. Greens are fast and pin placement makes it rare to actually get a straight putt. Can I just say I birdied #8! That doesn't happen often. I'm pretty sure I know what to tell you not to order. Do not order the Thai chicken bowl. Tasted like the frozen chicken and you microwave at home and the rice was terrible. Other than that the food looked good at other tables. My friend said the walleye was really good. The pretzel sticks were amazing. Love this golf course for its beauty, condition and challenging holes. This place is well maintained and the staff is helpful. I had a blast playing here even though I suck at golf. The pace of play was great and everybody cooperated ahead of us to keep pace. I lost a few balls to keep up the pace but its the price to pay when I don't hit enough fairways and greens. Please return any balls with large blue S written on them to me in Pleasanton, CA as there are lots out there in the hazards. This golf course always is intriguing when looking for someplace different to golf, I'll golf there once and then remember why I don't golf there. While the course itself is okay - too many blind shots, tricked up holes, all set under huge power lines that have obviously impacted managements customer service and multiplied their arrogance by a factor beyond comprehension. Not to mention that this course is in no way a $100+ golf course, maybe $65 or $70. Give out gift cards, but don't accept them for food or greens fees, go to spend your gift card at the pro shop go $1.05 over and be told they don't accept cash. The millennial manager behind the counter could have just waived the paltry sum but nooooooo, I had to pull out the visa card for a buck. Then there's dynamic pricing. In other word's we're going to lay the wood to you to make a decent tee time a week out when the guy that books the next time two hours before gets a 40% discount. I am guessing it is due to managements inability to calculate the average cost of a round of golf and just charge everyone the same. Saw they only have a 3.5 average, wonder why. And, by the way, do not respond with you shwarmy BS response about how your sorry I was not satisfied, if you actually gave a damn you would take care of these things up front. One of my favorite golf courses in the Twin Cities metro area. Always in great shape and fun layout with wide variety of holes. Food in the restaurant is amazing. Also a great place to host events. Awesome Golf Course. Stonebrooke is nice, I have been here 3 times now and have enjoyed each visit. Quite a few memorable holes with the most unique being the Pontoon Ride. The fairways, tee boxes and greens have always been in great condition. I really like that each time I have gone there was never someone on our tail and we never had to wait for slow players in front of us. Definitely worth a visit in my opinion. read more

Just played Stonebrooke (as part of a threesome). Took 3 hours, 45 mins. even though we waited on every hole. Course was in best shape of any I played this year -- greens fast and true, fairways like a carpet. Staff very friendly and helpful. A little pricier than some other courses, but worth it. Since May 2016, I've accumulated approximately $1275.00 in irrigation damages and have experienced numerous trespassing offenses committed by the patrons of this golf company... I've reported every single incident to this buffoon, only to have him waste My time... The manager Einer is disrespectful, he is financially Jealous of Me and is an arrogant racist. I am a resident on this course with prevelant and problematic history with this business stemming back to 2016 when I closed on My Lovely home. I own this home and I legally homestead this property... This clown had the audacity to challenge My homeownership status pertaining to this ordeal. He called Me a "renter" As if My complaints have NO merit or validity... clearly he doesn't know the Facts and obviously he is jealous because he must rent where he lives... So apparently in his eyes in 2019, an Asian woman can not complain about trespassing and damages to a property she legally owns... Do yourself a favor and purchase a home and golf at the Wilds... I should have purchased that home with the eight car garage on the wilds course off McKenna in 2016... read more

Dont't bother booking this place for a wedding, bridal shower or celebration. I was speaking with the event coordinator via email for 3+ weeks on a specific date to book for a celebration. To begin with, she had someone else tour me and didn't let me know in advance that she would not be able to meet. Afterwards, there was no follow up or anything. I had to continue pursuing the details and pricing of the venue. When she finally responded, and I was able to let her know I'd like to book she responds and tells me the venue is actually booked out for a wedding on my date. She apologized that there was nothing she could do and was wondering if I was interested on another date?! After nearly a month of me asking for the date I had in mind!! If you want terrible service, communication and unprofessionalism.. then have at it otherwise save yourself the trouble. read more

Came out for "All you can eat chef-carved New York Strip Steak" special on Friday night. The steak was awesome--basically a leaner prime rib! The chef did a great job selecting the right temperature cuts. The seasoning on the steak's crust was nicely salted. Au jus, creamed horseradish and raw horseradish are provided for accompaniments to the steak. For sides I had the rice pilaf and steamed vegetables. They were OK, nothing great but good. Service was very good and the waitress was prompt and respectful. For dessert we had a caramel apple crisp. The dessert was good, not great. Shared a bottle of wine with my wife. Wine prices are quite reasonable. For $16.95 per person, I thought we received tremendous value on the evening's meal. The chef-carved steak was really, really good. read more

We had our wedding reception here and they are accomodating in every way. Dance floor, bar, bathrooms, deck area with firepit, and entranceway all within 100 yds of each other. Played golf with friends Friday afternoon and decided to try out the new menu for dinner. It's been 5-6 years since I've eaten here, but had good memories from years ago. New menu was interesting and well done, but execution lacking. Highlights- Two of us ordered the "Almost Famous BBQ Ribs" Very nice, perfectly cooked and seasoned with a good sauce on the side. Loved the Garlic Parsley Fries. Not so Good - The "Bourbon Street Fettuccini". Advertised to contain Andouille Sausage and Cajun Seasoned Chicken. Tasty, but had to look hard for the Andouille. Plenty of chicken but expected a 50/50 mix? They forgot the Walleye Fish and Chips order, but reacted well. Free cocktail for impacted diner and delivered quickly. However the fish strips were over cooked, crust was not appealing, and "chips" were sparse. Looked like it could be a good menu item, but needs some work. I ordered a glass of Robert Mondavi PS Merlot for $9. Was expecting something decent, but what I got was bad. Looked up the retail price when I got home to see how bad I got shafted. Total Wine retails a bottle fo $6.47. I understand restaurants are entitled to a high markup, but usually falls in the 2.5 -3 times their cost. This glass was marked up more than 6 times their cost (probably about $5). Don't mind paying $9, but please don't insult your customers with something like this and then double the normal retaurant MU. There is plenty of good wine out there that would compliment your menu. read more

This review is for the restaurant only. My husband and l went for a drive out of Minneapolis armed with a black friday deal and giftcard from a family member. We ordered the short ribs and scallops - both amazing - 5 stars. Priced and presented like fine dining however the ambiance brought the overall rating down a bit as they were setting up for the next day's Sunday brunch and our white linen tablecloth covered a somewhat shaky plastic table. Clubhouse was nice and the service friendly. Probably won't return for dinner given the cost and distance, but would maybe check out lunch after a game of golf. read more

Oh My, Stonebrooke is a hidden jewel right in my backyard. They have an incredible menu and Happy Hour every day. They also have a Sunday Brunch for $10.95 per person that is one of the best Brunch's I've ever had. It's worth $25 or more per person. I Highly recommend Stonebrooke Golf Club's restaurant. Charged $52.50 to walk on opening day when the course was barely playable. Had the chance to be ambassadors for golf and instead they decided to gouge everyone just to take advantage of early season $$$. Website shows that they attempt to get nearly $75 in the summer for 18 holes without a cart. West Side of the Twin Cities must be a lot more affluent than I ever imagined if people actually would consider paying that rate just to get a 100 yard boat ride as the highlight of the round. 2 star course with a 5 star price tag. read more

My wife and I played at Stonebrooke yesterday. We were hoping to be alone but had to play with another couple which was fine. They happened to be a very friendly couple and enjoyed their company very much but that is besides the point. My wife and I had not played golf in a while. We did not warm up at the range and so our play was not at a quality level by any means however we are knowledgeable of golf etiquette and the importance of pace of play. If we lost a ball, we spent very little time looking for it and immediately dropped a ball in order to keep playing. The couple we were playing with was better than us and playing at a good pace in my estimation. On about the third or fourth hole we were approached by a ranger who gave us an indication that our pace of play may be a concern. The group (a foursome) behind us was playing a scramble (best ball). After another hole or two, we offered to let the 2 groups behind go in front of us. We were also promised a free round of golf for the day if we could finish our round within a four hour time frame. Fast forward to the eighth hole when we took a ferry ride over to the fairway. Right before getting on the ferry pontoon, the group behind us reached the 7th green. They were not waiting for us at all. As we were about to hit our second shots, another ranger came up to the couple we were with and asked them if they thought the golf course was too difficult for them or all of us. We all felt pretty insulted and none of us could recall ever being treated that way on a golf course. I should note that the husband of the couple we were playing with had just hit a beautiful iron shot over the water about 230 yards right in the middle of the fairway. I hit my tee shot in the water but I immediately boarded the pontoon ready to hit my second shot at the drop on the other side of the water. So we were doing everything possible to keep things going at a prompt and reasonable pace. After a brief back and forth with the ranger we collectively decided to pick up our balls and leave the golf course. When we got back to the pro shop we talked to the manager Einer who was very respectful by the way. He said we would be refunded. He also gave us each a free round of golf. The couple we were with restarted their play on the 10th tee. I asked to have a bucket of range balls to go iron out the kinks. Einer politely obliged and said he would happily allow us to rejoin our playing partners whenever we would like. After hitting some balls at the range, my wife and I elected to leave instead. I have to say this whole experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. I worked at a country club as a caddy. I can't imagine a member of a country club being rushed or treated that way. It would mean automatic dismissal for all employees involved. I think if you are going to have a scramble where the pace of play is much faster, then be sure to make sure all the guests are playing that way; or at least tell your guests ahead of time of what the pace expectations are before taking their money. And perhaps you might want to allow an extra 5 minutes before the start of the next tee time? Just a suggestion. After all was said and done and after letting two groups go in front of us, our pace of play was about 4 hours and 20 minutes. Not great but not terrible either. In spite of having the free passes, I doubt we will be back. read more

Maybe my expectations were too high but I was very disappointed in this course. Tee'd off at 2:40pm and almost played a 5 hour round of golf. I was in a 4-some and we were following a 6-some and a 5-some who were playing very slow. While playing best ball mind you. Totally unacceptable. What made it worse was they had rangers on the course but I didn't see them tell anyone to speed up once. Not only that but the group behind us hit into our group multiple times. The pontoon that carries you across the water on #8 broke which slowed down our round even more. The greens were really beat up and slow, lot of ball marks and footprints around the hole. Yeah the course looks nice and you could chalk it up to just a bad day, but that is enough for me to not want to give this course another chance. They didn't even have a bev cart out on a busy Sunday! read more

Our foursome had a tee time for 11AM this Saturday morning in late October. We showed up later than intended, and checked in at 1056. Our fourth was running a little behind so we paid for him. The two groups behind us were there and ready to go, so we asked if they could let them go ahead. For one reason or another, they didn't proceed with that idea. So, we went to the tee to tee off and let them know he'd be there very shortly. So the first of us teed off at 11:01 with a ranger hounding us, hurrying our second golfer. The second player hit, and the ranger told us (now 11:04) that we needed to leave the tee and the other cart would have to skip the hole and catch up. I stated that was absurd as we knew we needed to play fast, and that our fourth had arrived (pulled up behind him at this moment). Their next tee time was 11:10. Now with all 4 of us off the tee at 11:06 we rushed down the fairway. I took my drop because I hit a snap hook into the lake. Then I wondered why my playing partner took off with the cart after he hit, leaving me behind. Turns out, the starter was waving at him still (200 yards away) trying to get his attention to keep our group moving. We got off the par 5 first hole at 1110 and finished our first 4 holes in 30 minutes. Your tee times are 10 minutes apart... we have ten minutes to get out of the way of the next group. I know why they were pacing us... they had a large gap on the course in front of us that they were hoping we would fill. That isn't our group's fault. We played 2-3 entire holes in front of the group behind us the ENTIRE way. The ranger checked frequently throughout the front (played in 1:45) to make sure we weren't holding things up. Also, please publicize when your ferry is closed on your signature 8th hole. That hole is one of the few reasons I would actually travel to play this course again, but felt ripped off when they weren't operating the ferry on a 60 degree fall Saturday with a full course. I played Chaska town course last Sunday afternoon for 35 bucks (walking). I played here for 45 with cart. The 45 with cart should be the mid summer weekend rate at this course. It was an OK deal, but there is much better to be had at this time of year. read more

Apparently they have a strict 4 hour pace per round of 18 holes. The general manager that I spoke with was beyond rude and unprofessional. He made an entire group (12 people) of us feel like we were a nuisance on his course. I don't think I've ever been escort to skip holes in the middle of a round ever in my life. After offering a "friendly hot dog" for inconvenience he drives away smirking like he really smoothed it over on us. I couldn't have felt more confused. I hope Einer the general manager or whatever his title is, the best.. running a business is tough, but honestly he could have handled it better. I hope anyone that read's this that they've been warned. This guy is a pyscho and blamed our event coordinator for all his actions and that we should have know about the 4 hour pace rule. Stonebrooke is one of the most beautiful gold course I have ever played. A lot a scenic holes on the course. Lots of trees which makes it thought but actually fun. The staff at the place was really nice too and very helpful. Tell us who have never played there before where to pull the carts and where the first tee was and putting green was. The price is really really good. Only 50 some bucks for 18 holes and a cart to play course like that is really cheap. On time with tee times as well. I'll definitely play there again and I would recommend it to everyone. Great place! read more

I have golfed for decades and moved to the area near Stonebrook in recent years. I have only been to Stonebrook 2 times in 3 years, here is why. Trip 1. Horrible customer service the moment I walked in the door. I walked out and vowed to never return. Tonight, I decided to see if it was a 1 day fluke and to my surprise it almost was. The course was soggy but we just had a lot of rain so I get it. We did a 4-some couple night which is a great deal for a date night. Hole 8 was fun, something unique I've never seen before. We stopped for dinner after our round and the service and food were very good and fast, what I didn't like was feeling like I was a part of the wedding that was going on inside and the outside ceremony when we arrived. When we finished and we're unloading the cart a fellow patron had some choice words. Is my money not worth just as much as this other mans? I felt as though he set the tone for the establishment, which is unfortunate. There are many other courses in this city with patrons that are respectful. If only there was a way to find out if these disrespectful people are not playing that day. :( otherwise, I recommend couples night. read more

Usually one of my favorite courses, but this year the condition of the course is not worth the price to play. It took us 5 hours and 15 mins to play 18 holes and there was NO sign of a Ranger or anyone from the golf course making an effort to speed up play. We were visiting from Houston and someone recommended playing Stonebrooke. What a wonderful surprise for a public course. The course is in fantastic condition with fast greens and a good challenge. I would really like to play it again but unfortunately we are leaving. There are a lot of blind shots and I am sure that I would score better the next time around. If i could give this place no stars I would. I'll admit its beautiful for a wedding but it is not worth all the frustrations you'll encounter. Their "coordinator" if you can even call her that is never around, you have to ask everything yourself and pester her with emails to get anything done. Their communication is the worst, they blocked the lockers for our belongings, they screwed up my food, they pre-opened wine that wasn't used, they had trash in their fountain, they had broken chairs on the patio, their staff ate my cake without asking, their security guard was over the top and ended up walking in on my 5 year old daughter using the restroom, they said we could open doors to the patio and then denied it, did not turn on outside lighting. They refused to work with me on what I paid for after they were such a let down. STAY AWAY IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A WEDDING VENUE! Seriously 10K down the drain on this place.
